    Cool activity
The Museum is a really fun activity to do with friends and family. Make sure to charge your phone beforehand, you’ll take a lot of cool pictures there. Although the museum isn’t that big, we spent almost 2 hours there to explore all the illusions.

    Highly recommended!
While on my staycation in Toronto, I invited my adult daughter to come with me to the Museum of Illusions. We had a blast, thanks in large part to Pragya - a museum staffer who stayed with us the whole time, showing us how to position ourselves for the funniest and craziest pics as well as how to really appreciate the wide variety of optical illusions on display. This individualized guided tour was much appreciated and made possible because we happened to arrive at the museum at a fairly quiet time. If you'd like this experience as well, try to plan your visit on a regular weekday.

    Great photo opportunities
We booked this on their website for a Christmas Day at 10:00am. I was surprised that they were opened. When we went in there was 10 of us. We went from room to room taking pictures. The staff were as very friendly. They explained some of the illusions and took our picture. It took 45 minutes to get through. There was an area to do some puzzles. We ended up buying a few in the gift shop at the front of the store $16 each. There is a room where you can hang up your coat and leave your belongs but it’s not their responsibility if something gets taken. This was a great experience and I only wished it were bigger. But being that it’s downtown I can understand their issue with the space.

    Underrated
If you enjoy optical illusions and scientific phenomena in general, you will find this place AMAZING! It's small. Take your time - even if you go through every exhibit methodically it will only take you about an hour and a quarter to get through, but it's excellent entertainment value for those who like such things. Get there early or go on a weekday to avoid crowds and bring your camera!

    A fun hour or two.
We really enjoyed the museum. Some fun exhibitions of optical illusions and also interactive pieces as well with clear explanations of how the effects were achieved. Hints of where the best spots to take photos from are dotted around. Staff were really friendly and helpful. (They also were happy to offer to take photos.)

    Awful
Booked time slot on line, showed up to be told that it was still processing but they were sold out so no other options. So we were told go home. 3 hour drive. Sad little girl. Thanks so much.

Research photos online before you go
We had a really good time here. It was made extra fun by the fact that it was Halloween season, and wearing outfits/masks added an extra level of fun. I see a lot of similar reviews of this not being worth it. I would disagree. To make the most of the trip, I would suggest that you look at the photos others have published, so you know what to expect, and how to take a good/funny photo. Otherwise, if you go into this blind, I could see one missing a lot. Despite how physically small this place is, they do cram in a lot. The free coat-check was appreciated. We arrived for opening at 10:00am on a Saturday, and this place was pretty packed shortly after 10am. Perhaps consider going on a weekday. It helps to have 3 people or more, for taking photos. Although there are staff on hand to assist you with, they are not always available. The only reason I knocked off a star in the rating is because of their scam Groupon (at least at the time of writing). For some reason they listed t heir Groupon in US dollars, and they do not accept any Groupon promotions (e.g., 20% or 30% off). This means it is actually cheaper to purchase the item directly from their website than it is from a Groupon. We spent 45 minutes here.

    Very interesting and fun
You need to go with someone as the experiences in some cases require more than one person to appreciate them and take photos.

    Fun!
Loved it! Took my niece here. She had a great time. Staff were nice to help us take pics. It’s small, but enjoyable. Took away some fun pictures and memories. I’d recommend if looking for something interesting to do but don’t have a lot of time. We hopped onto st Lawrence market right after which is next door for snacks and deserts.

Fun time on a rainy day
We went on a rainy day. This was such a cool experience. Combines the art of illusions with some great, hilarious photos and the opportunity to use your brain. Highly recommended you stop by this gem

Way too expensive for what it is. It took 30 minutes tops to go through and cost around $55 for 2 people. The best part was the guy that showed us some card tricks. He was awesome.

Fun, but much smaller than expected
Took my teenager to this. I was firs surprised at how small of a place it is, we finished the whole thing in 35 minutes. So it's a little pricy given how small and limited of an experience it is. That being said, we really enjoyed ourselves and it's very interactive. The vortex tunnel was completely dark when we went through it (later realized they had forgotten to turn on the spinning lights). We tried it again when it was lit up - yowza, cool experience, but watch out if you are sensitive to dizziness or vertigo! The teenager loved it. So overall it was a fun experience, but smaller and shorter than expected.

    Good experience but short
Fun place but as other reviews have stated, it's a bit pricey for the experience. We went with our teenager and were through everything in half an hour. Families with young kids might spend more time on certain exhibits, but even then it's probably 1 hour max. Staff was friendly and they were very proactive with their Covid precautions, getting everyone to sanitize u[on entry and frequently cleaning surfaces.

We visited with our children ages 11 and 8 on Thursday mid-day in August and we all had a brilliant time. Admission was CDN $90ish (GBP 60) for a family of four and we spent a little over an hour and a quarter there. My children would have happily spent a wee bit longer if we weren’t on a tight schedule.

The museum is smaller than I expected but crammed with super interesting displays. Plenty of great photo opportunities! There were a fair few people there but I didn’t find it uncomfortably crowded and we were able to enjoy all the displays with no/minimal waits. We skipped one display that had a big group and came back to it later.

The museum was kept very clean with someone regularly cleaning mirrors etc to ensure the best quality illusions. I also appreciated the modern & fun decor.

The displays we a mix of sets (stand here, take a photo from here), interactive displays, and displays to look at. There were instructions and explanations at every display .

I would highly recommend this place to anyone with children ages 4 and up, and I would have even had fun with just the adults. Could even be a fun first date! 😉

Do book ahead - they were sold out when we arrived but we only had to wait for 45 mins for the next slot. The door sign wasn’t clear but it was possble to book online for another slot that day

We couldn’t make it on time for the slot we reserved, so we tried calling them several times. No answer. We couldn’t change it online either. We got there, the employee told us she could MAYBE let us in for the next half hour but it wasn’t guaranteed. She said if we didn’t want to, she could refund us. We ended up asking for a refund instead, but she then told us she didn’t have the authority to process a refund and that we would have to email hello@museumofillusions.ca.
I had to write to them TWICE because they were unresponsive. I ended up getting a half-hearted email telling us they couldn’t refund us and that we could email them to change the time for a future date (although I had specified in the initial email that we’re from out of town and no longer in Toronto). Wrote them back and still haven’t gotten an answer nor have I gotten my money back from an experience I didn’t have. HORRIBLE customer service.

Purchased tickets as a gift. I was billed given an order#, etc. but received no tickets.
Contacted Marko (as he deals with problems) with the details but, he says there is no record of the transaction?
I spoke directly with staff at Museum of Illusions, and they can see date, time, Order #, amount, and that it was billed? I told Marko This, and he has not refunded me my funds or provided tickets??

NOT WORTH IT. Waste of money absolutely overpriced for what it was. Small venue and crowded, finished the tour in under 20 minutes. Only cool part was the moving tunnel. Most of it is just framed optical illusions on the walls.

I recently visited the Museum of Illusions with my brother, and it didn't meet our expectations. The space was very small, dusty and there was nothing special to see. We completed the entire exhibit in just five minutes. I feel it wasn't worth the money, and even my 16-year-old brother hated it and regretted going. It was a big disappointment, and I want a refund.

The concept of a museum of optical illusions is a good one. But this was just a rip off. It’s very small and is basically just pictures on the walls of the same worn out optical illusions that most people have seen before, many times - most of them are constantly doing the rounds in social media posts. We were out within 15-20 minutes. For the high ticket price this really was a complete joke, sorry.

Our family of four (kids 11 and 14) was engaged and entertained for about 45 minutes. We took a lot of fun pictures and had a good time figuring out the puzzles. Was it worth the price of admission? Debatable because I think it was still about 25% higher than I’d like to pay. But, we’re glad we went.

Cool concept and definitely had some cool spaces. Gets crowded really fast, with LOTS of kids running around screaming. Even without the chaos, the space is pretty small, and wasn’t worth the $26/person ticket price in my opinion. Spent about 30min inside.

Grandson (11) loved this. It is small and doesn't take long to go through. We spent around an hour there. The staff was wonderful and would explain the best way to get pictures and would assist. Kayla was especially vivacious. It seems like the staff likes working there which is always a plus for visitors. The exhibits are done well and typical of this type of museum. I believe it is more geared to 10 years and older.

Short activity. Doing everything with 2 teens took us less than 1 hour. But we enjoyed it. it was a rainy day in TO and this had an appeal to the whole family.

Hubby had already seen many of the illusions online, but I had seen less. It was fun to try and figure out puzzles and mysteries.

they had a small gift shop too.

I liked that it got us interacting, instead of being bystanders of a screen.
