- nickaO385LE0 contributionsA highly recommended tourWe went on the Niagara Falls and Niagra On The Lake tour. We all had a great day - there was plenty of time at all of the stops to explore and we all found Michael to be a knowledgeable and witty host. We had a last minute cancellation by another provider, so had the good fortune to join this tour. Highly recommended.Written August 4, 2024

- simigoes0 contributionsGreat day-tour to the Niagara Falls and Niagara on the LakeI could enjoy a great day-tour to the Niagara Falls yesterday organized by City Sightseeing Toronto. I booked the tour conveniently through my hostel and was picked up directly from there. Michael, our tour guide did an amazing job! He was super knowleadgeable (as proper Toronto local) and provided lots of interesting information about Toronto, cool facts about Canada as well as the Niagara Falls and all the other places we visited. He gave us great tipps where to shop/eat/drink and was super entertaining with his witty humor. He really turned this tour into an enjoyable tour. Michael was very helpful and patient with showing everyone where they need to go for the boat/leisure time at the Niagara Falls and was super well organized. As well as for the tour itself, the programme was very cool! I was very happy to walk around in the charming little town of Niagara on the Lake and the wine tasting at the end was just the perfect ending to a long tour day. Can highly recommend this tour! :)Written July 21, 2024

- Nicole P0 contributionsNiagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake and Wine TourWe did the Niagara Falls tour with Niagara on the Lake and Wine Tasting. There was no commentary or info the entire time. It was basically just transportation. The only communication was time and where to be back on the bus. Time allowed at each stop was not quite enough, you had to rush and be very time conscious. The wine tasting was at the college and was just ok, simple information but again a rushed experience. I do not recommend this tour.Written June 22, 2024
- michellefX7105CE0 contributionsCity Sightseeing Toronto Day Trip to Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake and Wine tasting at Niagara College WineryOur tour guide and bus driver, Michael, was great! He provided alot of interesting and fun information about Toronto and Niagara...city demographics, geography, sports, food, architecture, history. There were clear details and instructions for drop-off and pickup at each stop (Moose rest stop, Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake and Winery at Niagara College Canada). The drive was smooth from start to finish. Would highly recommend for a first visit to Toronto.Written June 21, 2024

- _karenzap2040 contributionsThe falls are worth the tripAwesome trip. Make sure you purchase the Hornblower tickets. Niagra on the Lake was beautiful. The final stop at Niagra College was interesting. But for us we would have enjoyed that half hour to be used in NOTL or just getting back sooner. Just felt too rushed. Michael was a fantastic driver. Full of a lot of information and very friendly. Please get him a new bus! No wifi or charging. The bus doors don’t really shut and with the windy day we had the rattle was too much after a long day.Written May 28, 2024
- m0tryam0 contributionsSuperb! We just did a day trip to Niagara Falls through City Sightseeing Toronto. Our very knowledgeable and congenial tour guide, Michael, provided top notch service and made our trip be as great as it was. We had a blast at Niagara Falls, which included a boat ride around the Falls. Afterwards, we went to the charming town, Niagara on the Lake, home of the Prince of Wales Hotel, which was built two years before Canada became a country. While we were there we also saw the spot where Niagara River runs into Lake Ontario. Our last stop was a winery where we had some exquisite ice wine. Throughout the trip we learned a lot about Canada’s rich history, culture, geography, industries, and cuisine from Michael. Michael gave much appreciated advice on how to best enjoy Niagara Falls and make the most of our time at Niagara on the Lake and the winery. When you book with City Sightseeing Toronto ask for Michael!Written May 25, 2024

It was easy to book and Micheal, our driver was very cordial, funny and he knows lots of really helpful and cool facts that he’ll tell you during the bus drive to get there. My family and I booked the bus with the ferry and I’d recommend it 100%. Also, ask for Micheal as the driver, you will not be disappointed!Written May 14, 2024
- JLx40 contributionsGreat tour, great tour guide! We took the Niagara Falls tour and can't say enough good things about it. The best thing was our tour guide Michael. If you go, ask for Michael! He was full of information but also didn't overload us with info. When we got to our sights (on this tour it was: Niagara Falls including the Hornblower tour, a Niagara -area winery with tastings, a visit to Niagara on the Lake) we were given free time to explore ourselves and take photos -- no being herded as people are on many tours. Also appreciated that he gave very explicit instructions on where and when to meet at the bus, as things can look so different when you're travelling and a bit tired. We booked this tour through our Marriott hotel and were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. It was about a 12-hour day from start to finish. If you take away one thing from this review, it should be: Ask for Michael! And also, please tip at the end.Written April 21, 2024
- Alastair G0 contributionsMichael Made Our DayWe took the City Sightseeing tour to Niagara Falls with guide Michael directly from our hotel. Michael was incredible, patient and full of stories to help us build memories. He thought of everything and our day was made so great because of his attention to details. The Falls were amazing and we had time to do the Hornblower boat trip and get plenty pictures. We then visited the lovely Niagara on the Lake, a quaint town with amazing shops and houses. There was also a wine tasting stop to round off the day. Perfect day!Written April 18, 2024

- Wanderer543469687060 contributionsSightSeeing Niagara FallsOur tour was booked over the website without issues. We stayed at a hotel in Toronto with intentions to spend a one day travel to Niagara Falls. The morning guide was scheduled for 8:15 am leading to a somewhat sunny afternoon followed by rain in the evening. From our hotel we waited outside for approximately 10 additional minutes from the alotted time frame that was expected from us. It wasn't a big deal. We were shortly after greeted by our driver who was in casual clothes. He then escorted us to his mini van. My partner and I were a tad surprised as we were expecting one of the red Sightseeing busses. Nonetheless the vehicle was fine. Probably in this case better then the one we thought it was going to be due to the upcoming weather conditions. The vehicle was clean, roomy, with a nice see through roof. We settled with a small quiet and friendly group of less than 10 people. No kids. Our driver was professional, and very knowledgeable throughout the entire guide. He spoke through a headset leading into a bluetooth speaker which could be heard clearly. He excelled in good narration with little to no pauses and straight to the point. When he had messed a fact/alternative statement up he fixed it right away afterwards. At times he added a few small jokes to keep things engaging with the passengers. Our destinations included many souvenir shops that were identical from the beginning first hop-off, right till the end. Niagara Falls were great! I do wish however that there was more time to do things there. We had a 2h time frame which sped by really quickly! That was our own faults though for taking lots of photos and trying to see everything instead of specific attractions. We ended up missing a few places unfortunately. After reuniting with the rest of our crew, we were back in the mini van and onto a new stop location. In one of our destinations our driver took us to Niagara on the Lake. He recommended us to make purchases towards the locals and not the franchise businesses. However, the local stores were not cheap! We didnt buy anything. In that town, we only stayed at a restraunt to eat. Afterwards as the weather predicted, it rained and I mean poured. We went to a wine tasting. It was fun to try and made it a good experience. We learned about ice wine and its sweetness. On our way back to Toronto, the driver was the only part that my partner and I felt uneasy with. We had noticed that during the highway traffic our driver kept going in and out of the lanes and we were wandering if its cause of the rain? We afterwards noticed from the reflection of the glass that he was texting! For us this was a big turn off as safety was a priority to us. We observed him doing it for miles! It was definately concerning as passengers were preganant and elderly. If something happened to them, I dont think he would admit to his wrongdoings if an accident did occur. Other then that, we made it back to our hotel in one piece. We would recommend this tour. If the last section hadn't occurred, our review would have been 5 star. Thanks for the great experienceWritten March 14, 2024

The tour guides on the double decker buses were amazing, but the prices are way to high for the value received, especially during the winter months. We planned on using the city sightseeing tour buses for transportation around Toronto, but most things are so close that it is not needed. The first few days, buses were every 40 minutes, but after the New Year they went to every 2 HOURS!! There were literally only 3 tours a day, stops are not clearly marked on the maps provided, and bus drivers pick up from spots before the times stated by the office. The shortest time you can buy is 48 hrs, but 24 hours would be plenty.
If you are visiting Toronto during the summer months, it would be well worth it as buses stop every 15 minutes. However, 2 hours is way too long, especially when you need the bus to get you back to your stop at the end of the day. The tickets should be at least half price for that amount of time.

We got the 48 hour bus which helped us get around toronto for our first few days. Because of winter hours the bus only runs every 2 hours which can be quite annoying but we just fitted everything in the time slots we had available to us. The bus was reliable with times and the lady who worked on the bus was helpful

I visited Toronto in Aug 2022 with my family (including 2 kids) and we thought this would be great way to see the city whilst saving little legs. We purchased in advance, which saved some time when we got the spot (we jumped on outside the Aquarium). There was a little faffing about to scan everything and reissue us with a paper ticket (despite having ordered online) but we got it sorted and hopped on.
The tour guide was funny and informative, keeping everyone entertained. The bus was empty when we jumped on, but filled up once we got back to the main square (#1 on the route map). It made good time and we spotted a few places we would come back to. Its a shame it isn't valid for 48 hours as that would have been really useful. We also did the boat rude that comes included and that was fun.
Tip: Don't get on at the "first stop", huge queue, just jump on before that you van hop on and off anywhere.

We bought our tickets ahead online and went to the closest stop only to find out it didn't exist currently due to construction (Scotiabank Theatre). We were able to call the number on the tickets and were directed to the next stop where we easily found a representative and started the tour. It was very crowded at 2:30 in the afternoon but our guide gave nice information. The crowds caused longer than typical delays at each stop and especially the 1st stop. Our guide stopped guiding when we returned to the 1st stop and the "canned" guide was ok. We returned the following morning to take the boat tour, which was very nice and we would recommend the first boat of the day as it wasn't even half full on a Sunday! We returned to the bus with less crowds and more information. The route changed Saturday to Sunday due to road closures and the guides were very informative. Would not recommend using if you have time constraints.

This 2-hour-tour was a good way to get a feel for downtown Toronto and its history. The guide was nice, knowledgeable and efficient. The tour starts at Dundas Square, and I would recommend starting the tour there, as there are places to sit and wait while watching all the Torontonians and tourists at this major point; it's also the major stop for the tour. From there on, the tour passes through all interesting touristic points, and we could learn about their history as well as the history of the surrounding areas. We could feel the geographical distribution of the downtown area and see life on the streets of this metropolis.

Having used this tour in other major cities I can only say that it was a frustrating waste of time and money. 4 stops on the route closed . Waited long periods (up to 40 mins) for buses and was left waiting 35 mins for a staff break at stop 1 that was advised as 15 mins.
Ear phones not working and no on board commentary available . Did not manage to get a full tour due to bus delays and missed the boat tour as last boat is at 17.00. We eventually left the bus in traffic due to the erratic driving and long delays . Really poor scheduling and a serious lack of buses.
Best to avoid, there are better and more professional options.
We contacted the operators and receivedt a response that managed to address NONE of the issues raised !

This should be the best way to see what’s going on in Toronto but the construction going on in the city is horrendous, we have never seen so many huge cranes in one place before. They are adding to the underground system, knocking buildings down to make way for even larger ones and roads are closed all over the city. While not the companies fault it meant on the first day we used it, 3 stops were removed from the route, the second day was like seeing a different place as so many different roads closed. We were supposed to have a harbour cruise included in the price, but it was not available during our stay. We always recommend trying the open top bus tours, but be aware of this one’s shortcomings

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent experience with City Sightseeing Toronto, which took place on September 29, 2023. As a retiree and an individual with mobility challenges due to disability, my anticipation for an enlightening and accessible tour was met with frustration and insensitivity.
Firstly, the tour guide's derogatory remarks aimed at individuals who faced difficulty ascending the steps to Castle Loma were both hurtful and disrespectful. Referring to them as "lazy bums" was not only inappropriate but deeply offensive, especially to someone like me who struggles with mobility issues due to pain. It is essential for tour guides to maintain professionalism and sensitivity, particularly when interacting with diverse groups of passengers.
Moreover, my disappointment extended to the content of the tour itself. Despite my hopes of gaining new insights about Toronto's history and culture, the tour failed to provide any fresh or engaging information. It left me feeling as though I had gained nothing from the experience, which was particularly disheartening given the significant cost of $64.00 per ticket.
In an attempt to address my concerns, I contacted the City Sightseeing Toronto customer service line, kindly requesting either a refund or a discount for my friend and myself, both of whom are retirees facing similar challenges. Unfortunately, my request was met with a denial, adding to my disappointment.
As a retiree, I value my time and resources, and it is regrettable that my experience with City Sightseeing Toronto not only fell short of my expectations but also left me feeling disheartened and disrespected. I hope that the company takes this feedback seriously and considers implementing improvements to ensure that future tours are more inclusive, informative, and sensitive to the needs of all passengers, regardless of their physical abilities.

We had high hopes, since we were trying to navigate the public transport system, and didn't want to drive/park our car. But seriously, don't bother. The person doing the speaking into our earbuds had interesting facts and was pretty funny at times, but whoever is managing this tour is raking in money with little return for the consumer. It started out okay, but unless you are sitting on the upper deck you miss out on a lot of interesting buildings and areas. When we were finally able to move to the upper deck (half way through) it was better. However....we got off at the castle Casa Loma and upon reboarding, the bus was over booked. People were standing in the aisle with no real chance to see anything. After getting off near China Town, we waited 60 minutes for the next bus to arrive (they say 20-30 minutes at each stop). When it arrived, no one got off the bus, so there was NO room for about 30 of us to get on! The bus left and we were told another would be here in 10 minutes. It took over 25. By the time we got onto a bus, the tour was ending at 5 p.m. and it was 4:45 with no time to take the harbor cruise. We would never do this again. A big loss of money. At the end we just wanted to get back to our rental and forget the tour. My advice, try to do things on your own. Much cheaper and less frustration.

We’ve done many City Sightseeing hop on hop off bus tours in different cities across the world and usually find them great but unfortunately this wasn’t so good. I knew with just 1 loop the tour was limited. We first ended up being on the bus for just over 1 hour (boarding at Stop 1), there was a guide on there but he didn’t say much at all so I felt like we didn’t learn much about the city and I wished I had listened to the pre-recorded guide instead. We ended up getting off at the Roger’s Centre and going to a Blue Jays game instead at the last minute. We did get back on the bus later to go to the distillery district, that guide was a little better and more informative but it was a short trip. Overall it felt very expensive at approximately £80 for 2 adults, I wished we hadn’t bothered and it’s made me more aware of these bus tours in the future especially where there is just 1 loop.
