- debbiee4040 contributionsFantastic half day tour of the Cabot TrailWe were met at the Sydney Cruise Terminal by our wonderful guide, Brian. He was a wealth of informatiom about the area and culture. The drive was fabulous and the colors were gorgeous. I highly recommend this tour!!!Written November 4, 2024

- E3746ZXgeraldb0 contributionsWonderful fall colours on Cabot trailGreat guide and driver ( Harry & Greg), great scenery, great restaurant at the lunch stop (The Rusty Anchor). We travelled the counter-clockwise route to get the best sunlight conditions.Written October 9, 2024
- TravelingFool590 contributionsPicture Perfect TourThank you Frank, for a great day exploring Cape Breton Island, the Cabot Trail. Your deep knowledge of the history and area was very interesting. We stopped at great lookout points, took frequent breaks to explore, and thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking vistas. You made our day!Written October 6, 2024
- khbigmac0 contributionsEnjoyable DayWe were greeted quickly and had a comfortable ride with Brian who was very knowledgeable about the area. Even though we were a few days early for the peak leaves it was a pretty drive and left us with the desire to return again some day!Written October 4, 2024
- Curiosity154118787590 contributionsGreat TourWe had a great tour of the Cabot Trail and our guide/driver had quite a lot of knowledge of the history and fun facts about the area. Having grown up in the area, he had a personal connection as well (he ran into family at the lunch stop). The stops along the route allowed for some spectacular photos and amazing views.Written September 22, 2024
- viajaconl0 contributionsBeautiful Cabot TrailIt was a nice tour. We visited very beautiful places, and the scenery was breathtaking despite the cloudy day. The guide was nice, very knowledgeable, and told us many interesting anecdotes. The only con was that he was very talkative too and didn't stop talking during the five-hour tour. It would have been nice to listen to some music to relax on the way back to the port.Written September 19, 2024
- Tcgfpkris0 contributionsExcellent! We enjoyed our day tour of the cabot trail. Very beautiful scenery, many stops for pictures & bathroom breaks. Local insight from Bruce the tour guide was interesting. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch - Morrison’s - was amazing. This was a great introduction to the cabot trail. I am sure in years to come we will go back to explore some more!Written September 17, 2024
- grannydesta0 contributionsMust-do tour - outstanding! The tour was amazing, and Harry was an exceptional guide for our delightful group! His extensive knowledge, great stories, and wonderful sense of humor greatly enriched our experience, and while we didn’t have a sunny day, the clouds made the gorgeous views even more dramatic. The frequent stops to enjoy and photograph the vistas were immensely appreciated. This was the highlight of our tip to Cape Breton!Written September 14, 2024
- Dankoam0 contributionsFull Cabot trail tour, cramped bus.We did the full day Cabot Trail tour. The tour was completely full so the van was packed. Long day in cramped quarters. Lots of seniors on the tour who refused to switch seats claiming various ailments prevented them from sitting in middle seats or second or third rows in the van, so we ended up stuck in the very back for eight hours. Would have enjoyed a tour around the trail that allowed time for a hike vs so much car time and overlooks, but it was the best available option other than self driving. We had heard there might be a brewery along the route but that didn't materialize.Written September 13, 2024
- deborahmJ5526DG0 contributionsWhat a Marvelous Day!!!!!Three of us took the 9 hour Cabot Trail tour with Harry. What a day!!!! Harry is kind, funny, informative, and easily becomes a friend. He knew so many tidbits about the whole trail, knew all the vendors where we stopped, enjoyed a lovely lunch with us as the Rusty Anchor - I could not encompass all that we experienced in that nine hours: The Clucking Hen, The Tartan Shop, Cheticamp, and vista upon vista of such beautiful scenery!! (We also found out that Harry and his wife read, love to curl, and enjoy the Gaelic music.) Such fun!! Bravo Harry! Bravo Cabot Discovery Tours, and Bravo to Misty who worked her magic to get us this tour after we thought it was fully booked! We'll always remember you, Harry!!! Ann, Deb & JohnWritten September 6, 2024
- 141kimi0 contributionsFantastic TourFirst, let me say how amazing this tour was. I booked this tour independent of cruise ship. The van was waiting right outside of the terminal. 2 couples canceled at the last moment, so it was just myself and my husband and another couple. Frank was our tour guide and was amazing. Lots of historical information, personal stories and my favorite part was that Frank is a singer in a coal miners choral group, and he sang for us! We decided as a group to grab lunch & eat at Ingonish beach, overlooking the water. Fantastic!!Written September 6, 2024
- 498cherie0 contributionsA Fabulous Tour DayFirst, let me say that the booking details were specific, detailed and left nothing to question or not understand! Next, our driver Frank was terrific! His knowledge being a local for many years really brought our tour to life. He took us to areas that we wouldn't have even noticed, including a site where some of his family is buried, with a very cute story attached to it. He threw in a bunch of historical detail, which if you are not from Canada (like us) was very helpful in understanding some of the places we visited. He gave us a first class tour in our opinion and really made a long day very enjoyable! It is a trip we will long remember! Additionally, he was very professional and the van was very clean and comfortable! My only recommendation on such as long day is to bring refreshments with you or perhaps Cabot Tours could provide them. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to say we definitely made the right decision choosing to let Cabot Tours do the driving!Written August 27, 2024

Four of us shared the private tour with Jerry (owner). He drove us in a very comfortable Toyota Sienna minivan with roomy seating. Jerry used a microphone in the van playing through the speakers and it was really easy to hear.
He is very knowledgeable about Cape Breton and our tour of about 2/3 of the eastern part of the Cabot Trail gave us s a great overview.
He said the western portion is more scenic - so if you have more time -it might be better. We were on a ship and he met us 50 ft from the gangway and brought us back there - very convenient !
We made several stops including a good lunch. Our trip concluded with a short ride on the cable ferry.
Highly recommend Jerry and his company.

Oh what a wonderful day! Brian was our tour guide and he was just a joy. We learned so much about the history of the island, we saw waterfalls and eagles, had lunch at an incredible restaurant (no tour busses allowed, thank goodness!), saw so many beautiful scenic overlooks that we lost count, and took a zillon pictures. This tour only covers a TINY bit of the Cabot Trail and it will make you want to come back and spend a week here to see it all!

Misty was very helpful and accommodating when we were making our reservation. She easily and happily arranged for us to be picked up at our rental house in a private van. Jerry, her husband, our driver, showed up early which was great! There was a bottle of sanitizer on each door. We felt safe as Jerry was a cautious driver and his van was very clean. He was knowledgeable, informative, personable and friendly. He was a good sport and put up with all of our teasing! The sound system worked very well and he was easy to hear and understand. He was excellent at adapting the tour on the fly to accommodate our wishes. He did not waste time looking for "good spots". He knew exactly where to take us for the best experiences. He picked a perfect spot for our lunch stop. The tour was a good pace and we did not feel rushed. We were extremely pleased and happy with our tour and highly recommend Cabot Trail Discovery Tours. Thanks again Misty and Jerry. From Bev, Karl, Stephanie and Mike

He filled the day with stories and history as only a native could. In addition he managed to snag four tickets to the wonderful Ceilidh in Baddeck, a perfect ending to our visit to Cape Breton. We are grateful for his extra efforts!

We booked Cabot tours through email. Misty, the owner was amazing and very focused on customer service. She is an excellent communicator and her goal is to please her customers. She picked us up in Inverness and gave us a tour, scheduled a sail boat ride and brought us to a local brewery. She told us about the area and knew her history.
The second day her husband, Jerry, took us on a full day trip around Cabot Trails. We stopped at many beautiful location. We had a seafood lunch at a great restaurant. Jerry was also very knowledgeable and a great tour guide. We had a wonderful day with him.
I must say that they both did an excellent job showing us around. They really were very knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel so welcome.
If you ever need a tour in this area, I would highly recommend them.

Our group of ten had a fun day exploring Caroline's Cape Bretton. This tour was the most professional tour of all of the tours we took during our 8 days of visiting ports. They had an invoice system and replied to email prior to the day of the tour. She picked us up at the port, gave us a brochure overview of the tour on Cape Bretton and went through what our plans were for the day before we got started. We made several stops to take photos as we passed the Bras d'Or lakes on our way to the Cape Bretton Highlands National Park via the Cabot Trail. We stopped at The Dancing Goat for a bio break and more coffee. They had some great cookies here too! We spotted a noted film actor having coffee with friends. Caroline knew where all of the good stops were for picture taking. The coast near Inverness was beautiful. Caroline's knowledge of Cape Bretton and the stories she told brightened up our cloudy day. She loves this island. She took us to L'abri for lunch. Food was wonderful. She placed our lunch order before we got there, speeding up the process. We saw the same actor having lunch with friends there too. There was some road construction on our way back to town, so Caroline made the detour and found us a great stop on the Middle River as the sun peaked out. They may add it to the tour. We were back in good time to board the ship. The van was very comfortable and she had a PA system that made it easy to hear her. I highly recommend this company and Caroline!

This was a great private tour, with someone who knew the area, where to stop, what to see, and what to avoid. The many vistas of the Cabot Trail were worth the time and price - recommend highly!
