We picked the right tour but the wrong day. We had 7 people plus Frank, our driver and tour guide. Frank was great: born and raised on Cape Breton Island, he had many tales and anecdotes, and related much history about the area. The problem is that we couldn't see much of what he told us about because of the weather- Hurricane Lee had just come through and almost the whole day was rainy and foggy. Frank said it was the worst sightseeing trip he ever conducted.

I, my husband and another couple had the pleasure of having Harry as our guide. He was excellent—attentive to everyone’s needs, informative without overloading us with details, open to questions, warm, and he had a good sense of humour. He provided plenty of planned stops, and allowed unplanned ones for photos. We were delighted when he sat at our restaurant table for a leisurely lunch, while we admired his Toronto Maple Leafs socks! The cost for 8.5 hours was very good value for the money. We were very pleased with every aspect of our experience!

Our driver Frank showed us much interesting and stunning place and had so much interesting facts and storys . We had a very delicious seafood chowder up on a cliff with stunning view of the sea.

We had a great day out with Frank. The bus was comfortable and roomy , Frank was a very good driver and host and the scenery absolutely stunning. We stopped at lots of places to take in the beauty and stretch our legs. We had 5 wonderful guests on our trip, and had a lovely time together ~ ended up dining together that night and will hopefully meet up again in the various different countries we came from. We did the whole trail and it was all lovely. The booking was easy and the tour really well organised. Highly recommend.

Jerry was our guide for the day. He was on time with a comfortable passenger van. Another couple from our cruise ship and us made for a total of 4 on the tour. The excursion had lots of scenic driving, but we had time to walk at the Edison museum and the Highland Village at our own time- meeting back up at a time set by Jerry. We really enjoyed the costumed actors that were stationed around the village . We also opted to have time to walk in Baddeck instead of a sitdown lunch. Jerry is a great representative of the friendly people who live in a beautiful scenic place. Would recommend this tour company.

Our cruise had a pretty short stay in the area, but CDT still gave a wonderful overview despite our time limitations. Driver custom picked spots to give us best views and was extremely informative. Pre-tour, office staff very helpful in answering our questions. So glad we chose this tour and this tour company.

We had a great time on the Cabot Trail Tour. Our driver was Frank & we only had three other people with us so a total of 6. We got to know everyone. Frank was able to talk on the history & going on now. Just a great day!!

One could not have asked for a more gracious, kind and informative tour guide than Brian. He took excellent care of our group and provided a plethora of info on Cape Breton as an island native. His narrative was beyond thorough!!!! The great disappointment was we had a very foggy and gloomy day and visibility was so limited in the key places. That being said - he made what could have been a super bummer of a day due to weather - which no one except the Creator has control of - into a delightful excursion. The photo stop and scenery at Green Cove along the Cabot trail - made it totally worthwhile!

Had a fantastic day with Harry ,a local citizen who gave us the great tour. Incredible scenery and views along with his great knowledge and history of the area.We stopped at a great little pub for lunch by the water. We saw areas we would have missed if we were driving it ourselves ,plus able to enjoy the magnificent scenery without the worries of driving the roads. I would recommend the Cabot trail tour to anyone who wants a great day of spectacular sight seeing.Five Stars!

It's the only way to see the Cabot Trail in our opinion. My husband and I did the small group tour the last week of August on a beautiful sunny day. Our driver and guide was Brian. He was patient, informative, friendly and did a great job. It was nice my husband could relax and enjoy the scenery since he wasn't driving. I was concerned about the length of the tour but there were plenty of stops along the way. It was nice getting into areas where the large tour buses could not go and hearing about the fishing industry and history of this area. This tour was made our time spent on Cape Breton even more special.

Don’t hesitate to book this tour! Harry was our driver and guide. A local who made us feel like it was a very personal guided tour experience. Nothing was too much trouble and we were provided with lots of great information as well as all the best stops along the trail. The van was new and spotlessly clean and Harry was a careful and attentive driver. With this tour service available, I can’t imagine why anyone would want to drive themselves around the trail. Excellent value and worth every penny.

What a wonderful day!!! We chose this your while cruising with NCL. The driver was waiting for us right off the ship- van was brand new and we had 7 of us ! Perfect size and our driver was wonderful! Saw as much as possible - time wise - on this beautiful island and learned a lot too! Thank you for wonderful memories!

Frank was great and told interesting stories, very knowledgeable! The scenery was beautiful once you get an hour or so out of Sydney. Enjoyed it very much.

This excursion might be ok if you was to take it in the fall to see the foliage color change but other than that there wasn't much to see or do. Riding in a mini van for about 4 hours looking not seeing much. Not worth the money.
