Incredible Auroras and As Many Photos As You Want
This tour was awesome. We went to our first location and saw a stripe of lights. When we went out to the camp, the Auroras were INCREDIBLE. It was almost a surreal experience that something that beautiful was real. The lights danced, the skies were clear, and it was cold (I think close to -50) but it was so so so worth it. The tour operator took as many photos of you and your family and the lights as you wanted. It was amazing. Do be aware that a tip is expected afterwards.

great experience
Mar 2020
I loved being part of this tour. It has all the necessities, a bus to take you there, snaks, warm tents and fire pits, photo taking, and very importantly welcoming tour guides.

The only drawback was that I had waited quite a while to be picked up so I think they should improve on that part.

4 - 6 Hour Aurora Hunting

Fantastic!! We saw our first Aurora!! We were taken to one spot but saw no aurora. We left and went east to another spot and the sky was clear. After about half an hour the aurora broke out. To the naked eye it was white with a little greenish or pink shade. When looking at photos the colors were bright!!! The guide took dozens of pictures of us and the Aurora. At the last stop they had a heated tent which helped offset the cold!!! All in all it was a fantastic tour!!!

tour guide and tour bus never showed up!!! I waited 1.5 Hrs at hotel lobby.
Feb 2020
This was the most horrible experience for us. We booked the bus tour, specified the pickup hotel, and paid the full price ALL BECAUSE FEB 18 WAS A GREAT NIGHT TO SEE AURORA BOREALIS. The itinerary said pick up time is 9:00pm.
We waited at the lobby from 8:30pm to 10 pm, all other tour buses came and left, the lobby became from crowded to empty, but this tour guide and tour bus never SHOWED UP. numerous phone calls at their published # +18674440772, messages, and emails had been sent, but no answer, no response, no call back...
We missed the great chance to see Aurora. The next day, we joined another bus tour, but could see Aurora. The guide and other guests said yesterday, Feb 18 was a great night to see. But I didn't get picked up.
Until now, no one ever explained to us, either the company, Auburn Borealis Experience Inc, nor the booking system Viator

The worst company and booking agent!

Horrible Experience - In Jeans at -41°C
Dec 2019
The first time that I'm writing a review because I'm so disappointed and frustrated. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Here is my story of my Aurora tour on the 18.12.2019.

We (me and my partner) wanted to book the Aurora tour quite shortly (same day). We communicated throughout the day with the company (per mail) and mentioned from the beginning that we have no gear and would like to book the tour in the evening. The communication was split into few messages, with replies every 3-5 hours. Half an hour before the pickup we were asked to pay, what gear size we need and were told that we will be picked up soon. Two guides picked us up and told us we will get the gear shortly. They drove us with an unheated bus to the location at the lake. We were already freezing in the bus, since we only put on the jeans and "normal" Winter jackets, because we expected to get gear and getting dropped of in front of the house again.
When we finally arrived somewhat freezing we were told to go to the tent near the lake, which was another 2 minutes walk in jeans at -41°! At the tent we finally caught someone of the organizers and were told that our gear will arrive with the next bus. So we were standing in the tent in the middle of nowhere without any proper gear, and the fire just about to be started and -41°C outside. At some point we warmed up but we couldn't really see/enjoy the aurora because we had to stay in the tent. At around 1:00 am we finally got the gear but then there was no aurora anymore and we had to wait until 4:00 am to finally get back to our place where we stayed. We were really cold and disappointed.

Afterwards we were told that this was our mistake that we booked to shortly. But in my opinion it's their responsibility to reject the booking if they cannot fulfill the requsts on time.

See the aurora, get shaken down for tips
The tour got me to see the northern lights, which was its stated goal, so that’s something I guess.

That being said, I found the TripAdvisor description of what you get during this tour was optimistic, at best. Let me say it borders on Fyre Festival levels of accuracy in some areas. Just stick to the facts, it’s all people want in the first place.

Also, I was left in total disbelief of the “$10 per person tip” shakedown that occurred at the end of the tour. Why was this just not included in the price in the first place? Shouldn’t tips and their amounts be optional and based on service? Is strongly suggesting that people tip you $10 before they leave when you’re trapped on their bus considered an ethical business practice?

Good
-This is not aurora hunting, so you are staying at the tent, which has fireplace but not so warm so that you need to dress warm.:)
-You are expected to pay $10 each for tip.
-They gave me some cookies and hot chocolate/tea, sweet potatoes.

This tour was little cheaper than other tours I took.:)

Chasing the Aurora
Jan 2020 • Couples
Although it was a rather cloudy night and with not much expectation for viewing the Aurora successfully, the guide Ciry made every possible effort at taking pictures/sample shots at all stops in all directions just in the slight chance that a clearing might occur. The chase was explained to us in regards to where we’d be going next to try for a better view. It did not really happen this night but some cool pictures were still taken for anyone interested as a courtesy and the pictures were provided to us the next day thru google drive. The driver Roland was a responsible driver and we were in great hands for safety.
This company made the most out of what they could control and can not be faulted for Mother Nature keeping the Aurora out of sight this night. Hot chocolate was provided during the ride to keep you warm. $10 gratuity is expected per person for this tour.

Wonderful experience
Dec 2019 • Friends
PRO: Overall service is great. The first night was amazing with clear sky and intensely strong aurora! So we could stay in only one place with a warm camp, hot beverages and good snacks. The second night was cloudy so they did an aurora chasing by driving to many places for 3 hours to find the best spot - therefore we were mainly in a bus. Although aurora was faint, their services were really impressive!
CON: The first night guide, named Siri, asked us to pay tip for 2 nights at the first tour (60$; 10$ per person for 2 nights). But he was not a guide for second night! The second night guide didn't ask us for any tip. I think this is really unfair and the company should know what he did.
