What to expect
  • Discover Saint John and experience a city that has evolved with time, yet still keeps its unique character. Your tour guide will show you the many sights that Saint John has to offer while explaining the city's rich past and current challenges. Meet your guide one hour after your ship’s arrival at 100 Water Street, a meeting point within walking distance of the cruise port. You’ll start the exploration by following your guide to Prince William Street. This well-known strip, once considered the “Wall Street of Canada” has long been known to have one of the best collections of Victorian-era architecture in the country. Proceed down King Street to Market Slip, a site where Loyalist settlers from the United States first arrived in the late 18th century. Also along King Street are the 225th Anniversary Clock, Barbour’s General Store, and the Policeman’s Museum. Continue past Trinity Church, a religious structure built in Gothic style, and head to King’s Square to to visit an authentic 19th-century country general store. This square is a leafy green space covered in elm trees and begonias is also home to the Imperial Theatre from 1913 and one of the world’s only two-tiered bandstands. Leave the square and continue to City Market, a center of commerce that survived a large fire in 1877. You’ll finish your excursion back at your original starting point.

Nice tour
Sep 2019
Art was a lifetime resident of St John and gave us a very thorough and personal tour. There were just five of us on the tour and he was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him.

Walking Tour Lacking in Details
Sep 2019
Finding our tour was easy and our tour guide was friendly and engaging. Unfortunately her depth of knowledge about most things in Saint John was limited. Knew the script and shared personal experiences but did not share a robust understanding about the architecture, unique culture, plant life, or detailed history. The majority of the tour was spent walking through a sad part of older Saint John where we saw house after house with no stories. The tour could have been much more entertaining had she shared stories of this lovely community. Loved walking around the older area of the city and would have enjoyed spending more time there instead of the rest of the walk. First hour was okay. If you want an in depth knowledge of Saint John, this is probably not the best tour for you. Also, our group was easily able to navigate the hills, others might reconsider a walking tour.

Not at all what expected
Jun 2019 • Family
We had Bryon as guide. It was to be hr to hr 1/2 tour & 2+ hrs later we had to leave as we had to meet others. Bryon’s tour was way to long & drawn out about architecture! I had my niece who is 18 & she was bored to death, as I was! I was expecting more about history of St John as to architecture. I was so disappointed! The pink hop on & off much better- as we did that after walking tour.
