My partner and I had the yet another memorable ice fishing experience thanks to Matthew and Jared! We booked this outing to celebrate my partner's birthday - since we had such a great time 3 years ago. Even though the weather this year was warmer, we were lucky there was ice and they made sure we had a safe and fun outing. From the moment they picked us up at the hotel, Matthew and Jared had the greatest enthusiasm to make sure we would caught a fish. Not only did we both catch something, they had great banter the whole time. Thank you again!

Matt, the owner and guide, is quite the expert in fly fishing. Clearly he loves the sport. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. We had no experience in fly fishing and he had infinite patience with us. Make sure you answer his emails in order to have well fitting gear that he supplies as well as licenses you will need to buy in advance. All the trout is released. My daughter caught the only good sized trout and had a blast doing it. The scenery is beautiful. We clearly need more practice to feel comfortable catching fish this way but loved the introduction.

I did 3hr late afternoon trip with Matt.After a lifetime of fishing I had never cast a fly until my trip with Matt.I caught multiple Rainbow trout and Cutthroat. Matt was very knowledgeable,passionate and most importantly patient with a novice flycaster. The whole experience was 10/10 from the hotel pickup and the equipment supplied. I thoroughly recommend. I went ice fishing with Matt at Whistler Year Round Fishing at the beginning of May and it was a ball! He picked our group up from our hotel and provided us with lined Wellington boots that kept our feet nice and warm. We opted for the morning tour and within 20 minutes of picking us up we were on the ice. Matt has exclusive access to a local lake and we were the only ones out there! It was super cool to walk on the ice in the middle of the lake. The views were beautiful of Whistler and Blackcomb mountain and it was very peaceful. Matt brought a big auger and drilled holes into the ice and a few of us even got to try our hand at it. We were each given a bucket and fishing rod and within minutes my friend caught the first rainbow trout of the morning. Matt was extremely attentive and taught us the best techniques and kept our lines filled with shrimp. We each got turns trying out the fish finder and all of us caught fish (I caught three!). It was super exciting so feel the tug on the line and the fish were safely released back into the lake. I really wasn’t sure what I’d make of ice fishing but I felt as though it was a very Canadian experience and something totally different. Matt had us laughing the whole time and I’d definitely recommend getting out with him any time of year to do some fishing in Whistler - whether you’re a seasoned angler or first-timer.

We call Queensland Australia home so when we visited Whistler in Canada for our first White Christmas we wanted to really do things we would never get to do at home! Matt picked us up from our hotel in Whistler Village, made sure we had our fishing licences done, provided great boots for walking on the lake without falling on our faces lol, and provided great expertise, commentary and instruction for our Ice Fishing Adventure! We caught plenty of Rainbows and even a Cut Throat Trout on our trip. We got to take great photos too as it was Christmas with Matt's Christmas hats on :) loved every moment and would definitely go again! If you are thinking about doing this, JUST DO IT!

We booked the ice fishing and due to the very late Winter weather this year, unfortunately there wasn't enough ice to fish on. Matt ensured us we would have an enjoyable fishing trip, none the less and we were not disappointed! He was very helpful and informative about fishing and the area. The gear supplied and the service was fantastic (a mat and chairs to sit on while we changed into our boots - very thoughtful) The locations were varied and we made a few great catches (despite neither of us knowing anything about fishing or being very good tbh) Matt was very patient, knowledgable and good fun, we had a super time! Would highly recommend. Thanks Matt!

Started out with early pick up and background to the location. Matt was on point, passionate and knowledgable; showing alot of care ofr the enviroment and the fish. Lost Lake was a stunning location with 5inches thick of ice set for a great days fishing. We started with a short breifing and discussion on technique then we were off. Beginning in some pre-drilled holes we were on to fish within 20min. Trout were between 15-25cm. Alot of fun on tiny 4lb gear. We also had a chance to drill our own holes. I caught 4 and the group of three all landed about the same each. Guide mentioned that it was good day. The use of the fish finder was awesome. Would advise that you bring a snack and bottle of water with you in a small back pack. Everything else is provided. Great tour guide and well worth the money.

Dawson was our guide and he treated us with kid gloves! Without making us feel like novices, Dawson guided us through woods and into the river for an exquisite salmon fishing experience. He was knowledgeable funny and sweet! I would do it again and Ian wants to bring the entire extended family again.

My husband and kids enjoyed the salmon fishing trip. They caught pink salmon at a scenic river and had a great time. Their guide, Dawson, was helpful and informative. He picked them up from our campground and drove them back, as well. All equipment, waders, and boots were supplied to us in excellent condition! Highly recommended during your stay in Squamish!!

My son and I had a great time fishing with Dawson! He was knowledgeable, patient, and fun. A very memorable day!!

Fantastic day, awesome guide, lots of salmon. Would recommend this trip to anyone considering a day out fishing!

Matt was fabulous working with me and my two sons. While we were planning the appropriate fishing trip, I let him know we had a range of fishing experience and patience. He recommended we fish for pink salmon and had fly fishing gear for me and spinning set ups for my boys as well as waders and boots. We drove to two locations and Matt helped the boys understand how to be safe and how they would be working to hook into a salmon. We enjoyed a perfect day of fishing where the fish were present and, with patients and the right technique (taught to my boys by Matt), there would be strikes and some great action. Both boys were able to catch salmon and my younger son hooked into a chinook that gave him a fight he will not forget. Thanks Matt for a wonderful day on the rivers of BC!
