- jlG5951WV0 contributionsExhilarating! When our climbing trip got cancelled due to rain, the kids were keen to try zip lining on our last day in Whistler (after having mountain biked under one of the lower zip lines in the Whistler Bike Park the previous day). When I called to ask what would be the most exciting tour, the lovely Australian answering the phone enthusiastically answered “the Sasquatch!” Boy, was she right! It was the most thrilling experience I’ve had in a long time, right up there with skydiving. The first step off the platform steps into mid-air leading to a steep drop that speeds up to 100-160km/hr in the trees was so exhilarating that I found myself screaming aloud! Once I realized that I was safe and wasn’t going to die, I stopped screaming and was able to appreciate the breathtaking views of the mountains, lakes, and creek meandering between Whistler and Blackcomb from the alpine down to the valley bottom. After the 2.2km zip line, which lasted about two minutes, the Ziptrek guide braked my pulley from the platform with their rope system, giving me a small jerk before smoothly coming to a stop at the platform. Such a rush!!! My 12-year old son and 14-year old daughter had the time of their lives. Thank you, Ziptrek!!!Written August 19, 2024
- sarahi3790 contributionsGreat views, speed and thrillThe zip line is a great experience although a tad expensive! The zip line is the best zip line I’ve been on for the duration, views and speed. I would say that it would have been nice for the guide (Luke) to interact in the travel up and down, he was actually really knowledgable when we pushed for a question but he spent the time on his phone messaging otherwise.Written August 18, 2024

- AllesandraMaria0 contributionsScarey gear issueThe experience would have been phenomenal if my left shoulder strap (which I assumed a critical part of my safety harness...as nobody told me otherwise) didn't fly off me a few seconds after the jump point. I was scared and I yanked it back up with my right hand but it flew down again (you are "flying" in at 150k + speeds but they estimated we were maybe 170 that day). The experience should have been amazing and it took all my courage to do it. But it was ruined for me. The ride lasts less than two minutes so it goes quick re the view and thrill but regardless there's no time to look around and enjoy it if you think you may crash on the landing! I told the crew at the endpoint and they both said that the strap is in no way critical to rider safety etc. so I didn't "complain" that this was not shared. My friend and me had to decompress and spent some time watching the rest of our groups enthusiasm for their own rides. As we walked down the path to the gondola ride down the rest of the mountain my stomach was knotted and I had a little "release" cry from the scare. I plan on writing the company to let them know that they need to warn guests re the "function" of the shoulder strap being nominal.Written August 9, 2024

This activity is a little on the pricey side, but it’s a ton of fun and worth the money. Especially if you have kids who are old enough to go on it. We had 4 kids aged 10-14 on the tour and they absolutely loved it. If you’re a first timer this is also a great place to go. We did the Eagle Tour this year, we’ve done it before, but my nephew is older now so it’s a total different experience. Beautiful views, great weather, and a great group of other tourists made it a great experience.
Thanks to our great guides (Anders and Jen) for a great time! They were a lot of fun and we felt very safe with them. I’m not great with heights but everything felt 100% right the whole time.
I tried to go upside down but couldn’t do it. Maybe you just need to be a kid at heart to pull it off.

As first time zipliners we chose the Bear run. From start to finish it was an excellent experience and the team who guided us around were professional, helpful and encouraging. The whole set up was very reassuring and this no doubt helped with the apprehension we had prior to the start of the experience.
The Bear run was first class in terms of the zip lining and generally experiencing the Whistler environment. It was a great experience all round. I cannot recommend it highly enough particularly for those who may feel a little apprehensive. I have no hesitation in recommending Zipline Adventure.

I’m more of a skier and mountain biker AND I’m scared of heights so I never would have done this on my own but my sister-in-law booked it for everyone, so I had to go. We did the Eagle package which includes 5 zip lines with the first one being the longest and it crosses from the Whistler side to the Blackcomb side. It’s the only dual line and it’s really high! The scariest part is walking down the steps until the harness tightens. Then you step off and start zipping down the line. Once you start moving it was not scary at all. I don’t mind speed and I wasn’t looking down. The harness makes it feel really safe. On the second line I was going upside down. After doing this I don’t think I am any less scared of heights but I am definitely not scared of zip lines. This was my first time doing this. Other people in my group had done it before and in their opinion this was the best they’ve done for these reasons: (1) the runs are long; (2) at the end of the lines your harness gets hooked onto a brake that slows you down and is connected to a rope that the guides can use to pull you in (none of us rolled back down the line like in some other operations; and (3) the guides were really good, they were very professional in following all safety protocols, they were friendly and encouraging, and they told us about the environmental focus. Our guides were Sam and Maddie.

I would definitely give it 5 out 5!
We did the Eagle Tour and right from the start from checking in, to getting started everyone was amazing and friendly.
Our guides Abbey & Samuel were outstanding!
They willing to answer any questions you may have, yes even the silly ones.
They were very supportive and reassuring in the process, especially if you have any fears.
(I will admit I had a lot of fears & anxieties) but from the first line Abbey didn’t rush me and coached me through my fears & made me feel comfortable, Samuel was at the bottom to welcome me onto the platform with more encouragement, along with others in our tour group, thus making it easier to continue to the next line.
As you are walking from zip-line to zip-line they each give you a very informative understanding of the environment that surrounds you.
I would highly recommend you go check it out if you’re in Whistler.

We did the Eagle tour (family of 4 - 2 teenagers) and the experience was absolutely superb. The professionalism of the staff cannot be underestimated in making you feel safe, comfortable and confident before zipping and the information they provide about the rainforest on the journey you take through it. The tour itself was fantastic. We originally booked the Sasquatch, but changed the booking to the Eagle tour and was so pleased we did. The views are magnificent and to take in 5 ziplines rather than just the one was a more interesting experience in our opinion. Book it, you won't regret it!

Terrific zipline experience. We went for the bear tour which starts and ends in Whistler village. There were plenty of slots available mid week but it is still better to book in advance to avoid missing out.
They say to arrive 15 minutes before your tour but realistically you only need 5 minutes. Our guides were both lovely and made you feel 100% safe. I loved that each zip has steps down until you feel the harness take your weight so it’s not a drop at the start like on other courses I have done.
The first zip on the bear route is insanity fast and pretty scary so I would not recommend it for children. After that zip it confirmed that I would hate the Sasquatch! The rest are far more enjoyable with views over the mountains and rivers. This is definitely the most picturesque zip tour I have been on. There is quite a bit of walking between the zips but they say that upfront.
All in all it was a great experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I regret to inform that my experience with Ziptrek was profoundly unsatisfactory. My friends and I had a reservation for a zipline session at 3:50 PM, which we were compelled to cancel due to inclement weather conditions. Upon attempting to cancel, the supervisor informed us that the cancellation was not possible as it was beyond the 24-hour notice period. Given the severity of the weather, it was impractical to proceed with the activity, raising concerns about safety liabilities. Furthermore, the supervisor’s demeanor was far from professional, and an additional fee of $50 per person was demanded for rescheduling. This approach to customer service is very disappointing.

Greetings Solo YXR,
Sorry to hear that from your perspective, your experience with Ziptrek was unsatisfactory. However, in reading your review and discussing it with the staff involved that day - it appears you didn't truly understand our operation, policies, or what you ultimately signed up for. As stated on our website, Ziptrek is an outdoor activity that operates in all weather conditions (the only exceptions being very high winds, and if there's a risk of lightning). Rain does not qualify as "severe weather". We also state and ask that guests "dress according to the weather conditions of the day". Whistler is a mountain resort, and weather can often change quickly and unexpectantly. That said, our operations team (not individual guests) determine whether a tour is safe to operate or not. We had several other tours go out that day, without any issues. Plus, we've been operating safely, and effectively in Whistler for over 20+ years now, so have a very solid handle on operating our zipline tours, and have an exemplary safety record.
As far as cancellations go - we have a very clearly stated 24hr cancellation policy. Guests have the option to change their tour time, but if it's within the 24-hour time period there is a re-booking fee. This is no different than how an airline operates (change fees are standard). Without those policies in place, it would be very difficult to run an effective operation (i.e. if every guest were to just randomly decide when they'd like to go, or not).
Again, sorry to hear you found this all unsatisfactory, but I believe if you had reviewed and researched what you were booking, none of this would have come as a surprise. Lastly, not sure you can refer to us as "The Worst Zipline Ever" if you never actually experienced one of our tours.
Sincerely,
The Ziptrek Team

our private tour was great - we had a super fun time!!
we had a late start time (4:20) so our first line was at sunset, and the next 2 lines were in the dark - what a great exhilarating experience.
social distancing was very well observed and we felt very safe.
staff were great as well
I would definitely recommend this as a fun activity in Whistler.

Would recommend this as a good way to spend a couple of hours site seeing from a different perspective in whistler.
I really enjoyed the eagle tour which is 5 zip lines of varying lengths through the mountains. It is not for those who are afraid of heights!
There is a bit of a wait between doing the zip lines as there were quite a few people on the tour but that is a usually passed by looking at the informative signs posted around the tour and generally looking at wild life! We saw two bears during the trip!
There was fantastic dedication to safety by each of our guides which is great considering we were launching ourselves off a fifty foot platform!
A bit pricy for what we were doing but a fantastic experience none the less!

We went on the Ziptech Eagle Tour on Thursday, Oct 6th, 2022. There are 5 zip lines. The first one is the longest and two people zip side by side on two separate lines. The other 4 are all single. It's fantastic! Very safe. The guides, Abbey and Cassaleigh were so nice and made sure each person was properly harnessed. The lines go back and forth between Whistler Mt. and Blackcomb Mt. We were driven to the top in a van and then had to walk on a trail to the platform. The platforms are somewhat far apart so there is a bit of a hike in-between the platforms. It'a all fairly flat and fairly easy. There are some steps involved, mainly the final platform that has 4 flights. During the walks in between the platforms the guides gave us some history and ecology information of the area. It's very interesting and impressive what the Whistler area is doing to keep the beautiful area sustainable. This tour might seem expensive but it's worth every penny. It's exhilarating! This wasn't our first time to zip but one of the best we've done anywhere. Just spectacular. They run the zips year-round. GO!

Hi, do I need any special clothes, equipment for the Bear tour? Also, where do my stuff goes? haha, I will be traveling with my backpack and camera and I'll love to make pictures of the experience.

Hello, we are looking at booking the Eagle Tour zip line experience and were wondering what time of day is best to book? They have morning, afternoon and late afternoon available.
Thanks!
Written October 6, 2019
It depends on time of year. It is getting dark earlier now (October) so I would book a late morning to early afternoon time. A early start may be a little cool temperature wise, so dress for it. You may also experiance that morning mist/fog so you may lose some of the scenery. We didn't book an early start because we didn't want to feel rushed through breakfast. You may be ok with that.

Whats the difference between Non Peak Eagle tour and Eagle tour?
Written July 24, 2019
Hi. Non-Peak available on Tours departing 5 PM and later (Eagle & Bear Tour only. Summer season only.). Prices for non peak eagle tour is less compare to regular one. But it’s better to do regular one. As weather is tricky.
Written July 25, 2019
Hi
We are a family of 5 travelling there in July. If we do the peak to peak and Bear Zip lining tour, do they have to be done in the one day? Are you given a time for the ziplining? We wanted to spend a while on the walking trails so can you do this over 2 days?
Written March 30, 2019
The peak-to-peak is not timed; you just go the gondola that leaves from the town centre, and then when you get to the top of Whistler you go to the peak-to-peak and wait your turn.
Ziplining is timed. We've gone in the morning, mid-afternoon, and late afternoon and all were good. You do a bit of walking and going up bridges and stairs so if it is going to be hot (which it might be in July) you might want to aim for earlier - but you'll cool down on the zip, so...

Hi Kimmyg,
We are going early May. And are wonder two things.
Would you suggest we book when we arrive our before leaving Australia ahead of time online.
I see you did the Eagle tour. What exactly did that cover. We have read the brief but are still unclear if it covers more than the one monster zipline.
Hope you can help
Written February 4, 2019
The Eagle Tour was 5 zip lines and 4 sky bridges. You went about halfway up the mountain in a gondola then alternated zip lines to the bottom, it was great and I would highly recommend this tour. The Sasquatch is the longest zip line in North America and is not part of this tour but you can purchase it along with this tour as a combo package.
If you will be there for quite a few days and are able to adjust your schedule as needed then you probably do not need to book ahead that time of the year but if you only have a day or two to fit it in it is best to book ahead.

We have done the Ziptrek ecotour In Tremblant, myself and girls 10&12...which one would suggest Bear or Eagle, which is similar to Tremblant?

If your girls are a bit timid, do the bear one. If they like a more exciting adventure then the eagle.
