Great experience with plenty of choice
We took the ferry to Victoria from downtown Vancouver which took nearly 6 hours, most of which was spent on busses, so thought we'd check out the return by seaplane Great decision. We went into the terminal and the young lady that helped us was clear and helpful. Flights were pretty regular and (we thought) not too expensive. The return took us about 90-120 minutes, in total, and was a cool, and much quicker, ferry alternative. Our plane was a 12 seater and despite being at the rear (seats are first come first choice) we were able to take some great photos. It was an nice day and take off and landing was as smooth as silk, which may not be the case on other days. We had luggage which cost extra but I'm sure not an issue if you're going on a tour.

‘First come, first serve’ for seat allocation. Worst customer service.
I booked a scenic view tour package with two senior family members, both over the age of 70, and one handicapped individual. We anticipated a pleasant and accommodating experience, as advertised. However, we were met with a lack of consideration for our mobility needs and a seating policy that did not account for the elderly or handicapped passengers. It was disheartening to find that the policy of ‘first come, first serve’ for seat allocation does not take into account the slower pace at which older or handicapped individuals may board the aircraft. As a result, by the time we boarded, all seats with a view were taken, which is the essence of a scenic tour experience. Moreover, the staff’s unwillingness to understand or accommodate our needs was unexpected and upsetting.

A must do on your trip to Vancouver
Never having done anything like this before, we felt we couldn’t pass up the chance. Take off, cruise, and landing were amazingly smooth. Only problem was it was too short and we wanted it to last longer. One of the highlights of our trip! Views of Vancouver you can’t get anywhere else. Highly recommended!

Beautiful views and a great experience
fantastic trip around Vancouver in the sea plane , pilot told us where we were going what to look for before we started to fly , the noise is loud in the aeroplane so we would never of heard anyway . Such a smooth take off and landing , was a little cloudy , but we saw everything we wanted , truly beautiful landscape and talented pilot - really enjoyable experience thank you

This tour is terrific and makes good use of your time
This was an amazing trip that was accomplished easily! I didn't have to worry about making connections and had plenty of time to do all I wanted. The Gardens were FABULOUS, and after touring them I enjoyed Tea there - delicious! The bus driver was terrific and shared a lot of local knowledge. He really elevated the trip and I was lucky to have him both directions. The flight was good and made good use of my time. Harbor Air staff in Vancouver were not friendly, but all went well and it was a very fun flight.

The perfect way to view Vancouver
We really enjoyed the experience, from relaxing in the airport lounge to chatting with the pilot before and after. Not to mention the stunning scenery seen on the flight - all in all a great trip

    Brilliant experience
One of the best excursions we booked on out trip to Vancouver. We booked the joint city tour and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park ticket duo as it saved a little money on both by purchasing the combined ticket. The sea plane tour was incredible! Took us out of the city and over towards Cypress Mountain and Howe Sound before bringing us back for some spectacular views over the city... at one point making an almost 90° turn for a wonderful aerial view over Science World. Check in for the flight was quick and easy and we were issued an open ticket for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park when we checked in for the flight. I would highly recommend the sea plane tour with Harbour Air Seaplanes and would definitely book with them again on future visits to Vancouver.

    Could be better
Sit on the right. Pilot said makes no difference as he comes back same way. Not correct. No commentary to explain the topography of what you are seeing. Although the pilot was explaining it all to the pretty young girl in front seat. You see some nice vistas but it could be so much better. I did the longer trip.

    Book directly thru company.
The trip was fine. Booking thru Viator was a hassle. There was no information or confirmation for our return flight. Because we used a third party, we were unable to get any information over the phone from the seaplane company. Ever tried to reach Viator?

    Great experience, would definitely recommend.
Amazing experience even on a cloudy day. The team were friendly and welcoming. But be warned, I didn’t read the small print and did not take photo ID with me. Make sure you take passport or driving licence with you as if you book through trip advisor you are booking through a third party.

    Great Tour!
My two young adult children and I had a great time on our tour on the Sea Plane! Great views of the harbor and downtown Vancouver. Our guide was great. After our Sea Plane tour we hopped onto the free shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge. I do have a “ fear of highs” and the bridge was overwhelming but everyone on the bridge were nice and understanding that made it an easier walk across. There are no perfect words for the views in the park but AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. My family and I recommend this tour.

    Outstanding
Outstandingly good. The whole experience was memorable and I’m a bit lost for words to describe it. Suffice to say that it comes top of all the tour activities I’ve ever done!

We hadn’t prebooked but seeing the floatplanes on a beautiful clear, blue sky day with poor weather forecast for later in the week we popped in to the office to see what was available. There were a few options at various prices and we were able to book the tour we wanted with only a short wait.
The plane had a few spare seats so we were able to spread out to get window seats. The flight was beautiful but started to get a little rocky as we got into the mountains. As we landed about 5 minutes short of the booked time the pilot said that he’d turned back due to turbulence and so we were only going to be charged for the shorter flight. The refund was automatically applied to our credit cards without us even needing to go back into the office. This was very impressive.
We all loved our tour. It was my first time in a floatplane.

We flew from Vancouver to Whistler on Thursday, 19th of September, 2019 with the 9 am flight. It was a great adventure with beautiful landscapes. At Whistler, a very pleasant Harbour Air employee drove us from the lake to the village. He took time to explain tourists informations and was available for any questions / recommandations.

The staff on arrival were very welcoming and friendly, our flight was not full so we were able to choose our seats and had plenty of space to see the views. The outgoing flight was incredible- truly unbelievable scenery. I highly recommend. On arrival at Whistler, we used the free shuttle into town which was easy and quick. There was also the option of bike hire. We were then collected at the end of the day by the bus which was prompt to take us back to the port.
The return flight was very turbulent, I think the fact that it was cloudy towards the end of the day contributed to this and as a result the views were foggy! I would say that personally our experience would not have been any less if we had taken the bus back rather than taking the sea plane both ways.
All in all a great experience.

Always wanted to fly in a float plane and it was as good as I had hoped. Because you fly through the mountains it is a bit turbulent but the view of the mountains, valleys and lakes are amazing and when you arrive in Whistler it is so beautiful. The village is packed with bars, restaurants and shops - do not bypass the Rocky Mountain Chocolate shop!!
So glad we hired bikes as the area is lovely to cycle around.

If you are without a car, I highly recommend flying at least one way to/from Whistler. This was so stress free and easy, and the views were insane. I was on the first flight of the morning over to Whistler, and it was aboard one of the planes equipped for touring so the pilot gave us a mini tour on the way. He spouted off tons of great information and made the flight even better. They bring their planes back to Vancouver each night, so if you take the first flight to Whistler you might end up on their tour plane, and if you are lucky to have a fantastic pilot, then you will get a little tour as well!

Liz L, Thank you so much for the kind words and recommendation! The flight to Whistler is spectacular, and you're right - if it is a sunny day, you experience a tour on the way to Whistler. We are pleased to hear you agree that seaplanes offer a convenient and easy way to travel to the surrounding destinations, in an efficient and time sensitive fashion. We are so pleased you enjoyed the experience and hope to welcome you aboard again soon! - Harbour Air TripAdvisor Team

It was perfect sunny morning after raining on previous day. Check in line was long, but that's not for our flight. Our flight was operated by Whistler Air and not Harbour Air - maybe that's why the information of our flight wasn't on the information screen, neither announced by the loud speaker. It made me a bit confused looking for information during the boarding time.

Our flight to Whistler was full but we managed to book single seat on the left side of the plane. A bit nervous at the beginning, but the pilot flied and landed it super smoothly.

What I want to make it clear is that unlike scenic helicopter flight I took in New Zealand and Australia, this flight is not a real scenic tour flight, but mere a short real flight. Means : the pilot wont turn around or slow down to provide similar scenic view for the guest on left side and right side. So I who sat in left side left jealous by the scenic view the right side passengers had. And the first two seat on the right side where you get the best spot for view are not for reserved. And don't expect any explanation or communication with the pilot because it is not a tour flight.

Still, this flight is worth to take, especially to save some time to travel and to travel with style, pampered by perfect view from above. Will definitely take this flight again if there's another opportunity :)

TravediaID, Thank you so much for your review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your trip to Whistler We are happy to hear you secured a single seat for your comfort during the flight. In regard to the scenic portion of the flight, you are correct - this is a scheduled flight with service between Vancouver and Whistler and although the flight is scenic, it is not intended as a scenic tour. Once in Whistler, we do offer scenic flights ranging from 20 to 60 minutes. We appreciate the recommendation and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back aboard soon! - Harbour Air TripAdvisor Team
