About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Hillviee0 contributionsA morning tour around Jasper with superb views, interesting explanation .The tour guide Sean was cheerful, enthusiastic, informative and clearly caring about his passengers,Jasper town, his job, nature, environment and about Sundog. He made the 3-4 hour morning tour a fantastic experience with phenomenal views and well chosen stopping points. Shan the driver tour guide shared his passion with clear explanation, ensuring that he checked in with the needs, requests of his passengers. A respect, appreciation, and regard for the wildlife and the challenges of nature over the years he shared. Was informative and welcomed..The viewpoints and areas around Jasper that he took us to were great choices. Subdog have certainly thought about and compiled great itineraries with options to suit all.Written October 15, 2024
- Hillviee0 contributionsA whole days trip from Banff to Jasper visiting spectacular points of interest en route. Including ice experience.Banff friendly sincere welcome Seats comfortable throughout , roomy, clean, Shaun clearly understood and explained fully and perfectly. Phenomenal trip visiting superb points of interest, ice trip en route as organised. Fantastic tour guide/ driver. Full of enthusiasm, care, ensuring all passengers understood and any needs were taken into consideration. Could not have booked a better trip to cover so many miles to our destination, with so many exceptional views, places of interest, full clear explanation and questions answered.Written October 15, 2024
- Philip R0 contributionsA brilliant one day tour along the Icefields ParkwayWith Jasper having announced the reopening of hotels and VIA Rail now stopping, I was able to reschedule my stay there once I had arranged transport from Banff. The damage to the Jasper back in July was a huge challenge and many travellers had to replan or reschedule. I originally had booked a competitor's one way road tour from Banff but they continued not to run. However Sundog came to the rescue and I am so delighted I went ahead. Pickup was outside my hotel Inn Banff and straight away our driver greeted me. Sean (or Shawn....) was absolutely brilliant. Lively, detailed knowledge of the entire route and made me feel along with the other 12 on board it was our trip. The tour included no end of stops including Lake Louise, other roadside photos stops plus a good amount of time at the Columbia Icefields. Once Sean had got us on to our booked 'slot' we were handed over to the team there to transport us in their vehicles to the Athabasca Glacier then the Skywalk. After that we continued north for a few more stops including the Athabasca Fals which had only reopened a few days before. Sean handled the inevitable sad part of the tour passing by so much forest alongside the north section of N93 Icefields Parkway really professionally. Our drop offs at the various hotels in Jasper were all carried out ending a really full, informed day along one of the most scenic stretches of road in the world. Oh and lunch prepared by a caterer was really good and filling. There were stops to get coffee etc along the way. The bus was great although heating was a slight issue that certainly didn't ruin it. So if you plan to transport yourself between Banff and Jasper without a car I would thoroughly recommend Sundog. Just one day of my 7 week trip overland trip right across Canada, this really was a highlight.Written October 4, 2024
- tpmedia210 contributionsSUN DOG TOURS ARE SUPERB!We did three tours with three different drivers/guides and each was excellent. Of special note, Norm and Sean are exceptional guides! They are friendly, intelligent, insightful, and inspiring. Norm is among the planet’s best storytellers. Philosophical. Uplifting. Engaging. So very kind. Sean is an absolute joy! So friendly and so kind. And truly humble and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend these people of Sun Dog Tours!Written September 21, 2024
- ReasonInTown0 contributionsThanks for the tourSean was a brilliant guide, and what a character, great knowledge and chatted all the way about the country’s history, scenery, and wildlife. He rolled by very slowly to let us see a grizzly and her 2 cubs, and a huge cinnamon bear, and a male moose. We stopped to see an osprey nest, which was massive. Bus was really comfy, and I would highly recommend using sundogs toursWritten September 5, 2024
- LinB6430 contributionsGreat sightseeingWe went on 4 trips with SunDog Tours in the Banff/Lake Louise area. The trips were booked for us by a travel company. We had 3 different driver/tour guides (Garret, Daniel, and Norm), all of whom were excellent. Each one had thorough knowledge of the natural area, was willing to answer our questions, and shared personal stories relevant to the tour. At the same time, each one brough his own personality and style to the tour, making each trip special.Written August 19, 2024
- lindadN8009ER0 contributionsAwesome!!!The scenery was amazing!!! We saw some wildlife - including twin eaglets - which is evidently unusual! Our guide, Fred, was a great educator and very entertaining!!!Written August 19, 2024
- LloydieZ0 contributionsThe cherry on top of the cake!As we boarded our Brewster bus for a tour of Jasper, Maligne valley and a lake excursion to Spirit Island, we knew we were in for a treat upon meeting Colin, our fantastically warm, funny, and informative driver/guide! Then we came face to face with Logan and the deal was sealed... we were in for the time of our lives! It didn't hurt that the scenery was gorgeous, the lake stunning, and the meal at Brewster Lodge outstanding... these two Brewster employees were the cherry on top of the cake! With their high level of service, exceeding all expectations, we have become Brewster fans for life!Written August 10, 2024
- highlandjan0 contributionsExcellentExcellent day tour from Banff to Jasper, along Icefield Parkway. Shaun (Sean?) was a very good host, very knowledgeable & keen to ensure we all got the most out of the day. His commentary was exceptional. He made the trip very enjoyable. Nice small coach which wasn't full so tour was almost 'personal' to all of us. It even had a toilet :) Terrible jokes though!!!Written July 30, 2024
- 957gaylee0 contributionsJasper boat ride to Spirit Island!Dev and Nat made it a wonderful adventure to Spirit Island because they shared so much information and made history come alive. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and made the outing fun! Kudos to these wonderful guides!Written July 25, 2024
- LoveTravel1120920 contributionsPrivate wildlife tourWe were a party of 6 adults. On arriving in Jasper we discovered all the wildlife tours were booked. We therefore asked a local taxi firm (Caribou Cabs) if they could do a private tour. Our guide was Kelly who was also a wildlife tour guide. She was amazing and taught us lots. Due to us being a small vehicle we were able to get out and stand by the side of the road were this isn’t possible on a larger tour. I would strongly recommend this company and most of all Kelly.Written July 25, 2024
- Keith B0 contributionsFantastic tourOur host Yvonne was extremely engaging and knowledgeable, and took the tour overtime to ensure we saw animals at dusk/sunset. We saw bighorn sheep, elk, deer, moose (including a baby), marmots, eagles and osprey. She also had antlers and paw prints for an information session. Overall would highly recommend!Written July 23, 2024
- herbb20150 contributionsGreat Effort Falls ShortThe day started on time with a transfer from our hotel to another which was a little confusing. Unbeknownst to us was that the morning staff experienced various logistical difficulties. These were compounded throughout the day including misappropriated lunches and dysfunctional audio equipment. Our guide Sean, did his best providing us with information and options. He is well-informed, gracious and accommodating. Flexibility, tolerance and understanding were the key to a successful day. We would suggest Sundog offer their longer day trip guests both a driver and a guide. The driver alone was burdened by the logistical challenges which took time to resolve thereby limiting our stops and exploration. Also, driving and talking can be distracting. Lastly, we suggest getting a bus with an onboard toilet.Written July 22, 2024
- Paul K0 contributionsJasper to Banff following Icefields ParkwayThis was a coach trip from jasper to Banff following Icefields parkway calling at various photo stops along the way and a trip on the Columbia glacier. The bus journey was estimated at 11 hours in duration which seemed rather daunting. We set off a little late but thankfully the minibus was not full meaning we could all spread out. The driver, Sean (sorry if I misspelled your name) was simply outstanding. His knowledge of not only the area he drove us through but also things of wider interest was beyond excellent. He went out of his way to explain the itinerary and put everyone at ease about toilet stops etc. he kept us entertained throughout. Sean made sure that we all got what we wanted out of the trip slowing down etc when we shouted out after sighting both a grizzly bear and a black bear. He even explained in great detail the differences and how they use their habitat. It was a long day but Sean made it more interesting and enjoyable despite how tough a day of driving it must’ve been for himself. Once again , Sean, thank you so much for making this a memorable journey.Written July 20, 2024
- judylH4855SA0 contributionsWonderful tourOur guide was so knowledgeable and fun to be with. We saw a moose, a black bear, a bald eagle, big horn sheep, elk and a few smaller animals. Maligne lake was absolutely beautiful and we had a short hike along a river that was gorgeous. I would highly recommend this tour!Written July 19, 2024

Dave was our guide for a full day transfer from Jasper to Lake Louise. He provided commentary during part of the transfer, giving us some history on the area. We knew during the transfer we would stop at the Columbia Icefields to walk on the glacier and walk on the Skywalk (which took about 4 hours). However, Dave also stopped at Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls (since we were a small group and we had expressed an interest in seeing them), Tangle Creek Falls, and Peyto Lake. Overall, an excellent transfer day.

Wonderful experience. Scenery is simply one of the world's best. We had a tour from Jasper to Banff with Brewster's Tours with the exceptional team of Colin and Rob (who graciously let of kids tell a few jokes over the mic). The team stopped for wildlife and had great narration of what we were seeing. Thanks guys.

Absolutely fantastic - so much more than anticipated.
Warren was our driver and he was knowledgeable about every aspect of the mountains, geology, history..... And the long stopover at the Ice Fields was incredible and totally unexpected. I can't imagine a better way to get from Jasper to Banff! And an added bonus was that we were dropped off in front of our hotel. Extremely recommended!

Nothing prepared us for the beautiful sights along Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff. What brought this experience together was our guide Norm’s personality and storytelling. That was about 10 hours of drive and I can’t think of a boring moment. The short walks, photo spots, timing— I never expected at all that this one-way tour would be one of the best experiences I’ve had to date.

There were only three of us that made the trip but that just meant Dave could customise the trip to our interests and pace.
We received an great commentary on how the area we were travelling through was formed and all the interesting sights were pointed out and explained.
We had heaps of interesting stops and great photo opportunities including a walk on the Athabasca glacier.
Can't say enough good things about our driver Dave and how great the trip was.
Oh yes, we also saw a mama bear and her two cubs, bonus!

Spectacular scenery (best views of mountains I’ve had in 50 years of skiing and hiking), great mini-stops for waterfalls, lakes and glaciers, and a really informative but friendly guide/driver Steve. We now know SO much about the pine beetle and the cycles of Nature in the Rockies we could blag our way through a TV interview on the topic (if ever necessary...). The year’s first snowfall disrupted the actual walk-on-the-glacier but, but none of us really minded as we did other things instead; Steve consulted us about what WE wanted to do and see, and spent hours in queues finding out the state of play of the tour while we visited the SkyWalk and took pictures of mountain goats...
We can’t praise Steve’s knowledge and fair-mindedness too much - I’ve certainly never heard such concerned, informed but even-handed treatment of climate change and our role in living within Nature.
Utterly recommended - but do it in summer, not winter: you wouldn’t get through!

Easy bookjng process off their website. Picked up from our Jasper hotel right on time. Driven safely to hotel in Banff by Sean who has to be the best driver/guide we have ever experienced. He was friendly, very informative and a smooth safe driver. His knowledge of the route, the mountains and the environment was extraordinary.
Highly recommend Sundog for their smaller coaches and more personal approach.
Thanks Sean for sharing your special magic spot with us. A truly memorable day.

This tour from Jasper to Banff was one of the greatest tours I've ever attended! They day started early and ended late but it was totally worth every single minute. For me personally, it was hard to leave such a beautiful village like Jasper but little did I know, that something even more beautiful is awaiting me. We made stops at several view points to take pictures, the highlight of which was the stop at Peyto-Lake, which really was a memorable experience with a jaw-dropping view!
The tour was absolutely diverse and it contained a little bit of everything. Not only did our tour guide tell us stories about Jasper and Banff's history, he also mentioned interesting facts about their flora and fauna.
By and large, I can only recommend this tour and our guide Harry!

Hi, I am little mixed up about parking and trails... how many parking this canyon have? And from each parking, which trail is beginning? I have slightly mobility problem, but ok with 90 minutes walking, better to park in which parking and do which trails.
