About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- DayTrip325467865030 contributionsGreat trip above expectationsI joined the four days tour to Rockie mountains and everything was above my expectations. The hotels were great. Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast every day were very good. The whole trip was very smooth. The tour guide Jessie is excellent. He is very friendly, fun, knowledgable, and he ensured the whole trip was running smoothly. Everything was efficient and on time, no time wasted. Every sight seeing points had optimal time to spend there. Not too short or too long. He knew exactly how much time we needed on each point.Written October 17, 2024

- 366deand0 contributionsRevised 5 day tripUnder the circumstances of the Jasper fires we missed our on the via Rail. As such, most of time we were unsure of what was next. Having said that we were happy with the revised tour. Tour guides were excellent. Prepaid meals could have very been a bit more interesting.Written September 25, 2024

- Lisa B0 contributionsTour of Banff & areaWe really enjoyed our 4 day tour with Calgary Tours. It was well organized, the buses were comfortable and the staff were friendly & helpful. One day of our tour was affected by the wildfires in Jasper but the tour company rescheduled our hotel stay and replanned our day with interesting sites. The hotels we were booked into were very nice. They were located in town, very clean and offered a great breakfast. We had three different guides, Zackal, Allen & Bowen, and all were kind and knowledgeable. We really appreciated Bowen’s knowledge and expertise of the area during the day we spent with him. Taking the tour really made it possible for us to see many more sights than we would have been able to see on our own. There are two things we thought could improve - we felt like we were on 4 “one”day tours instead of a four day tour. Each day we had a different tour guide and rode on the bus with different travelers. We would have liked more continuity. Also it appeared that the tours are geared for Chinese tourists. The tour guides spoke both English and Chinese but their English was oftentimes difficult to understand.Written September 15, 2024
- Explore317252915820 contributions6 Days Rockies Special Tour Banff& Jasper& Joho & Kottenay National ParkWe had a great time touring the beautiful Canadian Rockies! Calgary Tours made it possible to have a wonderful experience because they had organized everything very well: from signing up for the trip to our departure -everything ran flawlessly and smoothly. Customer service people were answering the phone right away, and we were also getting informed about any updates via e-mail before our trip. Calgary Tours managed to come up quickly with an alternative itinerary for us because of the Jasper fires, so we were very pleased to visit Waterton National Park instead. And yet, we could also go to part of Jasper National Park that was untouched by the fires- Columbia Icefield. We are also thankful for the immediate solution for getting on the SkyWalk which they resolved fast on the spot. There was a great coordination between the person on the Emergency Line and our guide Jessie. We liked the hotels we stayed at, as well as the food. This is a company that cares a lot about their customers. We very much appreciate the knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism of our guides- Zaekal, Jessie, and David. Thank you all for a beautiful memory of a lifetime!Written September 2, 2024
- doreencrabtree0 contributionsSix Day Rockies Unique TourWe have never done a tour bus trip before. Calgary Tours answered all our questions and helped us understand how to manage our booking reservation. Due to the fire in Jasper, some changes had to be made but they were prompt informing us of what our new choices were. Their hotel choices for the basic price were so nice. Coast Calgary was a 1 bedroom suite and Mount Royal Banff was right in the heart of downtown. Our tour drivers and guides were so wonderful, Thanks David-Waterton, Alan and Gary-Kootenay and Banff Gondola day, Jesse and Cowboy John-Lake Louise and Columbia Icefields. We would recommend this company's team to anyone. Our whole trip was great, not only for the scenery but the teams running our daily tours. - Sunshine065059103690 contributionsGood Trip to Banff National Park and other National ParksGenerally speaking, we had a good time, enjoyed beautiful scenery and good experience with all your tour guiders. The only thing we got surprise was that we got 'Day 4 Free Day'. We read it in our itinerary very late, and didn't pay much attention and didn't understand, because no description and email explaining that. We knew we couldn't go to Jasper, and we got email earlier, which said you had options for our trip. We thought you would arrange other routes for us to go and we were told we didn't have choice, which we accepted. Then no email and no body told us that we had one day free, which means that we need to plan and arrange everything all by ourselves. That was really a big surprise for us and all the other tourists that morning in Banff. We think your arrangements could be better if you had description under the free day and reminded us the day before. We were very embarrassed that morning in Banff. We know you will refund that day's service fee and trip fee as well as other fees we prepaid, but we just think you could do better. Another thing we really want to mention is that we were very impressed by our 7th day tour guider David, who took us to Waterton National Park. He is the best. He is knowledgeable, humor and enthusiastic, and he keeps his bus windows nice and clean. We had a wonderful day with him. Thank him very much! We took 7 days Banff and Jesper Trip, but your review doesn't have that choice. So we picked the 4-Day Rockies, but it's wrong.Written August 14, 2024
- FarAway8014800 contributionsSub par tour. The tour is catered more for Chinese speaking. The bus seats are assigned to them first then the leftovers. The tour guides English was very very difficult to understand. The time given to go see the places was very little. By the time you arrive at the location. It is just enough to click a few pictures and then run back to the bus in case they left you there. Ramada in Calgary downtown, I would give 1 star. Aspen lodge in Lake Banff was very good. Skip breakfast if you are diabetic or vegetarian. I have been with other tour companies. This one will not be used or suggested.Written August 12, 2024
- GoPlaces508051117740 contributionsAverage TourThe tour was good but the tourist bus was just like an ordinary bus—no coffee holder, no food tray table, and out-of-service washroom. Then we came early but the tour guide assigned our seats at the end of the bus and near the washroom. Those who came late have the privilege to sit in front with a good view of the road.Written August 11, 2024
- AstridPrabhu0 contributionsGuide did not speak fluent EnglishI booked the Banff Area & Johnston Canyon+Gondola 1-Day Tour from Calgary for 3 of my guests visiting me in Calgary. It didn't start off well with the bus breaking down and it took some time for them to be on their way. We were pleasantly surprised being taken to more spots than mentioned in the itinerary. However, the guide was fluent in Chinese but spoke broken English which couldn't be understood. It would have been appreciated if we were informed before that the guide was not fluent in English. Everything else went well as planned.Written July 24, 2024
- M8244YBjennyb0 contributionsUnhappy stay Banff Aspen Lodge hotel with NO AC; & bus's AC not working in last day!Banff 5 days deeply tour (IRO05A): It was outrageous on the night of July 17 in Jasper. The entire hotel we stayed in (Banff Aspen Lodge) had no air conditioning! The tour guide didn't tell us in advance. How could the travel agency let tourists stay in a hotel without air conditioning in the summer? Temperature was 33°! We are senior people in this group with high blood pressure and take medicine every day. When we entered the hotel rooms, the temperature was nearly 30°! The heat made our blood pressure soar and we had to take blood-lowering medicine urgently, definitely risk! There was only 1 electric fan in the room, but the bedding was winter supplies, and we didn't sleep well in that night! This was 1st time experience in Canada in more than 30 years that a 3-star hotel had no air conditioning in the hot summer! I don't know how the travel agency thought about, saving money? Last day of the trip on July 18, we’re noticed to change another’s tour bus. It was an old bus with not working air conditioning. The temperature outside was 33° and the bus window could not be opened. The engine of the bus was shut off once, the tour guide Allen asked everyone to sit inside (heated bus) to wait him contacted the head office. Everyone complained constantly, and finally we had to change to another bus, which made everyone very nervous and worried about missing the flight to home. Food was fine.Written July 21, 2024
- J6468EYjeremys0 contributionsBeautiful time at the lakesThe lake was beautiful but if I had to give a piece of advice is to get away from the crowds and hike to the lookout or the Tea House. It’s not flat but very double by a 48 yo who is out of shape. My family of 5 had breakfast at the Fairmont and it was reasonable and good. My wife and daughter canoed and loved it as well. At Lake Moraine we did the Consolation Lake hike and it wasn’t easy but I & 2 others in my family made it with little issues. The views were well worth it. It took about 2 hours hiking round trip. My wife & daughter saw the lake & relaxed along the lake. They had a really good time was well. We used Fairview Limo service and their service was excellent.Written July 4, 2024

The views and landscapes were just amazing and breathtakingly beautiful. However, our guide, David, was VERY hard to understand (you could tell his English was not strong) and disappeared once we reached the Icefield so no questions could be answered.
This tour is geared towards the Chinese tourist and the English speaking guest will have to strain to understand and will receive less information.
The optional ice crawler to the glacier is worth the extra $ and our guide Jess was wonderfully informative.
We also thought that we would visit the Skywalk based on other reviews, but unfortunately we did not.
You do get to see a good amount of scenery but not a lot of info on the bus due to language barrier with our guide.

From the first moment you could see that some people are treated better than others. One group was sitting at the front m, people that were speaking mandarin, the rest was at the back of the bus. Second of all, the day before was raining a lot, and people that organized the trip didn’t think to call and check if the roads are fine ( I think that’s what you do as you are taking people on a trips like everyday, you know the place and conditions, you know that heavy rains can cause flood ). So we got to the park and they said that we can’t get to Icefields because there is a flood on the road. So we never made it, most of the time we were in the bus. We had a stop at lake Louise for lunch for 1 hour and 20 minutes and there was nothing to do or eat, however that group from the front had even reservations in restaurants for their lunch. I wonder how did they know what time we will be there and that we will even had a lunch stop there because no one at the back knew it. Obviously driver had to walk all of them to the restaurant. In Banff we had to drop off everyone to their hotels, this wasn’t mention anywhere that we will stop at hotels to drop of people, and our tour guide had to go to each of this hotel and accommodate everyone. Imagine how much time we were in the buss to wait for all this to finish. They we had to drop of another group in Canmore, were the driver had to go so close to the entrance for the front group not to walk to much, that he hit the roof and destroyed it. So we had to wait for them to make a report and accommodate rest of the people. This trip was made for one group of people and we were just there, we didn’t get to the Icefields, we didn’t get our money back for the additional admission. The only good thing was that Alan, was trying his best to show us another things, and he did explain a lot on the way.

We went with Brewster Day tour
Very well run
We stopped off at Lake Louise and about another 4 or 5 different turquoise lakes
The glacier walk was amazing with a mega coach ride down the steepest hill.
The glacier was extremely slippery so good footwear and tread is a must
And very cold even though sunny
The scenery getting there is amazing
Lunch was included and this was excellent overlooking the glacier
It also included the skywalk a glass floored walk over a very deep ravine.
A great full day out

We went from calgary to Jasper via Icefields.
Absolutely brilliant tour company. I booked the wrong tour (round trip to icefields) and realised the day before ( that we needed one way to Jasper) and the team switched our tour with no problems or charges.
Our guide Allan and driver John were blinking fabulous.
The other guests on tour were so friendly and fun.
We recommend to definately book a tour.

the trip itineray was good, I did not like the small bus that was used for the tour, It seems that this particular trip was more of a family trip of the driver and the assistant, they were picking and dropping people who seem to be their family members.
the narration was pre recorded which the driver will turn on and off at his own discretion, sometimes the narration did not match the scenery
it was not very organized trip

I am planning 1 day Columbia Icefield Adventure from Calgary or Banff in July 2022. There is an option with Ice explore Admission. I am not clear as to where this option admits. Need some information.

Hello, I was wondering if we need to purchase tickets to the Columbia Ice field adventure center and tickets for the ice explorer separately? If so where do we do that? Also if we do not purchase tickets for the center what would we do during that part of the tour?
