We took the taxi from La Punta to Bacocho beach for $150 pesos, stood in line for the briefing, paid $100 pesos per turtle and then waited to get our lil turtle. This was the most amazing experience to know that we're hopefully contributing to the survival of this lil creature. Truly once in a lifetime experience and highly recommended to all!!

4 of us had a fabulous dinner here! Alexis was our server and he was awesome. The vibe in the restaurant was great, very friendly and welcoming but also upscale with beautiful pottery and massive natural wood dining tables. Everything on the menu looked great and it was hard to choose, so take our advice and pick from the specials board. All of our dishes were outstanding with obviously very fresh local ingredients. To top it off, it was raining when we were leaving and Alexis ran out and got us a cab ensuring we got home safely. You can’t ask for more!!!

We booked this excursion for our first night in puerto escondido, and we were so glad we did! It was great to learn about Viv Mar and their conservation efforts with the turtles and to see the work they are doing. We learned about the turtles, and had a change to release babies that had been hatched that day back into the ocean while watching the sunset. If you’re thinking about adding this to you’re trip we would defiantly recommend it!

Eco Adventures picked us up from our hotel, and Kiko gave us information about the different types of sea turtles, and how they are being assisted in Puerto Escondido. We were shown the sand mounds where they are protected while the eggs incubate, and then each given a baby turtle in a coconut shell. Just behind the waves we placed them in the sand and watched them head for the water. Some were more enthusiastic to get to the water than others, and sometimes the waves would wash them back up the shore and they'd have to start the journey over again. This all happened at sunset, and the beach was magnificent. Puerto Escondido is such a beautiful place to have such a fun experience. Kiko speaks English perfectly, and we enjoyed our tour with him so much that we booked the bioluminescence tour with him right after our turtle release. Highly recommended this experience!

It was an amazing surprise from my gf for me to experience something so amazing. You pay and get a turtle for each in a coconut shell. You take the turtle to the rope line and let it go there. It’s your responsibility to make sure the little turtles get to the water safely without the birds getting them because they will. Our niece and my gf’s mom both had their turtles eaten by sea gulls right in front of them. Sad but it happens.

This is awesome to hear! Yes, we are trying to work on the sea gulls by releasing baby Sea turtles after sunset when it gets a little darker. Thanks for your feedback we are very happy to serve you! And wish you an amazing day and end of year!

Jaciel picked us up from our Airbnb and drove us and two others to the beach. He was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us about Olive Ridley sea turtles and answer all our questions. Our kids are 6 and 8, and they loved it. The turtles were adorable and it was so fun to watch them walk down to the water and then get swept up by the waves. Jaciel also told us about the arribada, which is when mass numbers of Olive Ridley sea turtles come out from the ocean to lay eggs. The arribada happened while we were still in Puerto Escondido, and Eco Adventures notified us and was able to arrange an additional custom tour to see this amazing event.

We just went on this tour last week and it was pure magic. We were a group of 3 families with kids ranging in age from 8 yrs to 14 yrs and everyone was over the moon with the experience. I applaud the efforts of this group and the conservation project that they work with to help the turtles. Without their efforts these turtles would be powerless against all the forces working against them (climate change, human intervention). Please go on this tour- it will change your life and inspire you to do your own part to protect the ocean and it’s marvelous creatures. And, supporting this group helps ensure their vital work will continue in the future!!!

My daughter was so excited to do this. But the overall experience was just lovely. The rescue area is far away from PE, so there are no crowds, just a big protected empty beach. The guides are clearly passionate about their work, and answer all the questions you have in English or Spanish. There is nothing rushed or overly commercial feeling about it, just the release and then sitting and watching your turtle racing to the surf, resting, racing, and at last, in. Its a worthy project and not one supported by the government so your tour money is going to support a good cause as well. Bonus...you sneal in a sunset on a deserted beach. Enrique was our guide for the biolumenescents - but he is a PE native and knows everything that is going on so we were able to do this before the lagoon. He was a great driver, guide and even stopped by a secret local beach on the way back to see an amazing view.

This was a really magical experience. Our guide Efrain was great and it was good to see the whole process of how the turtle eggs are saved from the beach and then brought to the conservation before they hatch. I was wary that this might be a bit of a tourist fad but after seeing the whole conservation and seeing what they do, I know that they're doing great work for the animals and that supporting the tours really help keep it going. I'd recommend to anyone and will go again in the future.

My boyfriend and I really loved doing this. We were one of the first tours since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, so we were the only people. It was nice to have everything to ourselves. Our guides were really friendly, and spoke English. We appreciated that they wore masks, etc. as we really prioritized safety. They walked us through what we were doing (ensuring we knew how to best protect the safety of the turtles!), let us look at the baby turtles for as long as we wanted, took pictures for us, let us release multiple turtles, etc. We basically got to make the experience our own, and it was really great. The turtles are so cute, and the beach is beautiful! Would do it again! :)
