What is Travelers’ Choice?
Tripadvisor gives a Travelers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travelers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Cuetzalan is a charming indigenous gem, far from the noise and bustle of the city, in the northern mountains of Puebla. Upon arrival you are surrounded by its cobbled streets that lead to the colorful center of the town. All along the way you will see artisans, small restaurants and tenants dressed in their traditional clothing. White and red facades, tile roofs and aromas of coffee in a place where time seems to have stopped. Also, if you are lucky and the weather permits, you will be able to witness the flying show. Bartering is still practiced at your local food market on weekends. You will visit some of its natural wonders such as a waterfall and the Yohualichan archaeological zone.

Excellent! Fun, educational and a great culinary experience.
We visited Puebla again after 5 years and booked the Culinary Experience with Casa Mexicana. This was way more than just a cooking class - it really was a culinary experience. We first went to the market in the center of Puebla to buy all the ingredients for the meal we had selected to cook (Mole Poblano). Then the fun began as we set out to prepare the mole under the watchful eye of Chef Alonso who also provided us with his own recipe. (It turns out that there are an almost indefinite number of recipes of mole, but this one led to the best mole we have ever tasted). We also learned a lot about all the different spices and a lot about Mexican culinary culture in general. The kitchen setting is authentic and charming. In short, we had a wonderful time and an enriching experience. Highly recommended!

          Centro Historic Tour with Galo
One of the absolute highlights of our three day stay in Puebla was a walking tour of the historic center of the city. My wife, daughter and myself set out in mid morning with our guide Galo, through the incredibe streets of this magfificent city. Galo's knowledge and friendliness helped make our tour a truly entertaining and vibrant experience. His anecdotes injected an added degree of awe and wonder to the dazzling churches, historic buildings, reidences, el Zocalo, indeed to every calle and rua we passed through. It was an amzing tour and was conducted in a way that made it flow in a smooth, natural seemingly magical manner. In addition to the Palafoxiana Library, dating back to the mid 1600's to the thriving Zocalo de Puebla, with the help of Galo's stories and explanations, everthing we that we saw and everywhere that e entered became more alive and left us all with a greater appreciation and respect for this marvelous city. I can't emphasize enough how much I recommend anyone to take this tour. You won't be sorry that you did.

          Colonial towns visit
Wonderful tour. We got more than we expected. Lovely old towns, typical cuisine, beautiful waterfalls, pyramids, caves, gorgeous mountain views, colonial churches, botanic gardens nestled in the mountains. We learned a lot about the origin of the towns. The guide was very knowledgeable. We stayed overnight in a colonial hotel that had beautiful gardens and was very comfortable. We felt safe and everyone seemed happy to help us. This tour really showed us the roots of the Mexican civilization, we are really glad we did it :)
