We paid ahead for canoe ride & when we got there NO CANOE. SIL got into somewhat of an argument with guy at stand & wanted our $500+ US dollars back. He said he didn’t have it.

We booked a SUP paddle tour for 2 this past week. We purchased it through the excursions desk at our hotel RUI palace. I paid $170 and was told it was a 3 hour RT SUP trip to the arch and back with a guide. When we arrived at the beach spot at the 7:45AM check in time there was no umbrella or booth set up for check in. The guides at CABO SUP next door told us the guy must be late because they usually have the booth set up by 7:00AM. Around 8:00AM some local guides from another company were able to get in touch with the owner of Tio's who then promised they would send someone out to help up who would arrive in 15-20 min. At 8:55AM a young man showed up to help. He walked right past us down the beach with no greeting and did not apologize for being over an hour late. It was my understanding that the person who was supposed to work that day did not arrive to work and this young man was called in on his day off. He brought out 2 paddle boards, life jackets and 2 paddles. I told him we paid for a 3 hour guided tour but since it was our departure day we no longer had enough time for a 3 hour guided tour. He asked if we wanted to just rent the boards and go without a guide which we agreed to. Honestly he was in a bad mood and spending time with him, or anyone from the company was not very appealing. We took the paddle boards out for about an hour and a half. When we returned the equipment I requested a partial refund since the guide was an hour late and we didn't actually receive a 3 hour guided tour but a 2 hour SUP rental. The man at CABO SUP advised us that their rates for SUP rental are $30/hour per person. Tio's refused to issue a partial refund and we left. He says that we actually booked a 2 hour guided tour and refused the guide. The equipment was in good shape and the location is accessible at the beach. They get one star for quality of equipment. If I were to return I would avoid renting from this company as they made no effort to remedy the late arrival of staff and the tour we paid for was not actually provided. You would be better off to rent SUP hourly from CABO SUP next door and avoid booking with Tio's.

These guys ripped us off by claiming we damaged one of their jet skis. We did not but they (Jesus) refused to return our card and charged us $500 (plus 16% credit card fee). He wouldn’t call the police when we asked him to and the “damaged” jet ski was in use for the rest of the day - how does that work. All in all, a terrible experience - the guy is s scam artist. Even his crew said that we had not damaged the jet ski.

Erin my dive instructor was amazing, caring and extremely knowledgeable. Can’t wait to train more with her! The entire organization was fantastic. The boats were in good shape and the captains were very professional and fun. I’ll round it was a very awesome time! I highly recommend them for any dive training you may need or recreational dives.
