- From the Cabo San Lucas marina, head out into the waters of the Sea of Cortez. For your safety, avoid wearing yellow, silver, white, and red, as well as jewelry—all of which resemble fish traits that could attract sharks. At the chosen dive site, you'll safely swim or snorkel with sharks, under close supervision from a trained guide, and with all snorkel gear included. Along the way, learn about the aquatic wildlife of Baja California Sur. You'll get the chance to see the Arch of Cabo San Lucas and a sea lion colony. Plus, between December and April, you might even be able to spot whales.

The crew are very professional from the captains to their guides. We went out for seven days between humpback and sharks, Blue and Mako. We went out the first day, and no sharks. Let's of whales. We called Dave and asked about booking again, he fit us in the next afternoon. Again no sharks, but a friendly sea turtle. We called again to see if the fit us in and the did. Went out on a Friday morning. Waited for a sighting of a shark. Alex had seen another another shark dive boat right in our line of sight. This meant the sharks would have come to the other boat, and not ours. Alex made a phone call and the boat moved to another location. Finally a blue shark appeared. We all got in the water and whT an amazing calming experience. The crew, Nik, Alex and Victor, were great helping us get in and out of the water. Overall amazing experience, many thanks to Dave, Nik, Victor and Alex for another bucket list item checked off for our daughter. We highly recommend Cabo Shark Dive to anybody.Written March 28, 2023

Felipe was an awesome tour guide and we always felt safe with him leading us in the water. We saw dolphins and whales and snorkeled at a reef. Yes you do get to swim right besides whale sharks They are massive and beautiful. The guide and captain took care of us, and the equipment they provided was all good. We came from Cabo San Lucas. The only downside to the trip was that we had to leave our hotel at 4:50am. Waking four kids up that early (we brought a 10,12, 14 and 16 year old) was rough. It was worth it though. The vehicle and driver we're also wonderful. One really nice plus is they gave us all the photos for free. Every other activity we did down there charges $150-400 (YES $400) for the proffesional photos.Written January 3, 2023

Cabo shark dive cancelled our trip the day before we were supposed to go on it because not enough people had signed up. When people are on vacation they obviously have a limited number of days they are in the city, so when tours are cancelled it really can mess plans up. It’s not like we can just come back in a few days (they said to come back that afternoon, which we could not do, we had something else booked. People plan vacations weeks and months out, you can’t just go and change everything literally the day before). This was the main event of our trip, so needless to say we were very disappointed and frustrated. Cabo Shark Dive had offered a time, date and price, which we agreed to and paid. We the customer should not be punished because you couldn’t get enough people to sign up. That’s just the breaks and if you can’t handle that then you shouldn’t be in business.

That’s not what happened, and we still have our phone conversation as proof. Yesterday we gently Asked you if you were willing to reschedule the tour In case we don’t reach the minimum occupancy, We asked you which other days you have available, we offered several time slots and days available but YOU decided to cancel the tour without give us other options!! We cancelled as requested and we provide full refund. Cancelling a tour is something very rare and unusual for us since we go out everyday all year round with full boats. We always try our best to accommodate all our guests, but obviously we can’t do miracles and we can’t operate a tour if this will cause a money loss for the company. Is clearly specified on our policy on the website that the company has the right to cancel the tour and provide full refund Due to bad weather conditions or in case the minimum occupancy is not reached. The only thing this review shows is a complete lack of empathy and Absolutely 0 flexibility by your side. You know all companies in Cabo right now are operating at 30% capacity due to government Covid restrictions and it’s obvious that people sometimes doesn’t want to book during this difficult times. Due to the high operational costs we require a mínimum occupancy, that works for any other companies in cabo and for any tours. We advise you the day before so you had all the time to book another activity. There is No reason to write a 1 star review if you knew our policy already and also because this works for any company in the world. We Try our best always to accommodate all our guests. We Also offered you 3 other options and other days to reschedule but you didn’t want to.

I want to start off saying that the crew was great. They are very helpful and kind and want their patrons to have the best experience possible. But there are a few things I want to call out. First, there is no indication anywhere on the website that you may be sitting in 4-5 foot swells. In fact, they said, choppy water is best for sharks because it's an indication of good currents. It's not good for people who might get motion sick, though. Second, you only sign the waivers when you get to the dock. That means you don't get to read the fine print: that they don't guarantee sharks. We didn't even get into the water. So it was a 4-hour board ride to bob in the chop. I get that they can't guarantee sharks but if I had know that it was going to cost me $200/person regardless, I might have opted for another operation. Unfortunately, I didn't know that until we were standing on the dock and ready to go. To me, holding that kind of information until the last minute isn't fair. The waivers, which indicate all of the caveats, including no refund for no sharks or motion sickness (which is totally understandable), should be available on the website and easily accessible. To be honest, I would have opted NOT to go on this charter knowing that I would receive no sort of refund if we never got into the water. Just doing the math, if they have an average of 8 people on the boar (we had 7) twice a day, that's $3200/day * 7 days a week * 52 weeks. I feel like they can afford to refund people, even 25%, for an outing in which we didn't even get into the water. Again, the crew was great and had we got into the water, I'm sure I wouldn't be writing this review. But what I feel I paid for and what I actually got are so different that this review is warranted. Just beware before booking.

Thank you very much for your review, we appreciate that you likes our crew, that is top notch in Cabo. Our waivers say extactly the same of our company policy, that is clearly specified on our website, a policy that you accepted before booking and before paying any money. All our guests, like you did, have to accept our no refund policy ( in case of no Sharks or sea sickness) that is on our website, to finalize the booking. All this is before any payments. Our guests, same as you, know what they are buying before they pay the ticket, because transparency with customers is a key for us.
For that reason, you were fully aware about our no refund policy before booking and before that tour. We are not responsable if a guest doesn’t read our policy before accepting it before booking. We always offer to our guest the chance to go in the Water even with no Sharks, but if the guests refuse to jump in ( for example because they are seasick) that is not our fault as well. We explicitly recommend on our confirmation e-mails and on the policy to take seasickness pills 45 minutes prior the departure, to avoid seasickness. Regarding the weather, there are obviously days with very calm water and days more choppy, remember this the Pacific Ocean, but we never go out if the conditions are not safe for crew and guests. That day the Port Was regularly open for any boat activities outside the Bay.

This is not an amusement park ride. No animals are guaranteed. Remember that. We waited over an hour for the sharks to arrive. Just as we were packing up to leave, BOOM! Blue sharks showed up and boy was it something to remember. A large female blue came to the party and made the experience one of a lifetime. The shark came to within a few feet of us, swimming under and around us while we stayed stable with a mask, fins and snorkel next to the boat. The crew of divers with us did an amazing job keeping us safe and catching all the action! True professionals and stewards of the species. I highly recommend. Something I will never forget.
A piece of advice I would give anybody going, LISTEN to the safety briefing. Put your phone down and listen. Very important stuff is being said during that time which helped me handle the situation with a very close encounter with the big blue.

A truly amazing experience. I first contacted them via email for information and Dave Valencia responded quickly with helpful details. On the day of the tour, a group of seven of us gathered at the dock and headed out to the sea with Alex (the shark guide) and his crew. The crew was great at explaining everything to us, including how to keep us safe, and entertaining us at the same time. Once we reached the spot, a blue shark quickly came to our boat. According to Alex and the crew, the time it takes for a shark to arrive does vary, so luck was with us this time that it did not take long. Alex did a wonderful job getting us into water and keeping his eyes on the shark while we were in the water with the magnificant creature for about 30 minutes. He also took beautiful photos and videos which he shared with us. We then got back on to the boat (again, the crew was very helpful). On our way back, we got to watch some whales up close as a bonus. Definitely a trip I will remember.

We had an amazing time with crew of Cabo Shark Dive. A trip of this type requires an intimate understanding of the marine environment and that showed with the Shark team. We were setup with equipment at the dock and once on the water the sharp eyes of the captain and crew located whales, dolphins, turtles, sharks and sea lions. Our guide Miguel's enthusiasm for these encounters was genuine and he provided insight into these animals and their behaviors. And that was on the way to the shark dive! We got to the dive site and the crew setup to bring the sharks. Then we just had to wait. We used this time to discuss sharks in the area, their importance to the marine environment and other insights. We waiting a while and Miguel reminded us that a "safari" trip like this requires you to have patience and wait for nature to come to you. We were at the end of our trip (fortunately the Shark team agreed to extend our trip just a bit) and sharks started to show. First a blue then silky and finally a mako. We were already geared up and instructed on what to do when Miguel got us into the water. The Mako cruised around the boat, curiously approached out small group, and then vanished. While our time in the water was brief the experience was beyond my expectations. Having the chance to see an animal of this power and beauty in its realm was a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend this trip to folks that appreciate wildlife and are comfortable in the water. This is a "safari" so you need to keep an open mind and wait for nature to come to you. Thank you Miguel and crew for an amazing time.

Carol and Darrell from Texas--We have traveled extensively throughout the world. Snorkeling with Sharks definitely ranks as one of our top experiences!!!! The team that accompanied us were knowledgeable and simply fun to be around. The trick is patience. The water was chummed for 2 1/2 hours. Finally the 6 to 8 foot sharks arrived. The sharks stayed for at least 45 minutes. As part of the package, the crew took multiple underwater pictures for free. Our amazing pictures were emailed to us 6 days later. Overall sharks swimming within inches was an unforgettable experience. We will be returning in February to swim with sharks again plus swim with whales. I HIGHLY recommend Cabo Shark Dive. Easy to rank 5 stars!

Not scary at all!! I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous about Sharks but I must say my team and I had a fantastic experience! They were absolutely beautiful! I would recommend to book with this team.
Great experience with the entire crew! Alex and Alan were fantastic tour guides which added to the great experience. Alan is a marine biologist who was able to answer all our questions. The bus arrived on time and the entire day was very efficient which allowed for maximum snorkeling plus a latte!
We had a range of swimming levels and the team were able accomodate everyone. The team will also hold your hand and guide you through the experience which I very much appreciated.

This review made me smile, as I know the feeling. Sometimes things are scary at the first thought- swimming with the largest shark in the ocean, but then when it comes down to it the reality is an incredible moment of amazement. Me and my family had an amazing day. It started the day before when I got a text confirming pickup and getting the name of the lady who was going to pick us up from our San Lucas hotel.
The day of the snorkel Laura (our driver) sent me a text in the morning letting me know that she was 10 minutes out (what other guide company does this??? I’ve been on hundreds and have not had any do this simple act).
Laura picked us up at 5am with the sweetest most optimistic smile. It’s the little things that can set the tone for the day.
We got to the shop 2 hours later and was greeted by Raul our Shark guide. We got our equipment and headed to the boat. On the boat we met Alberto the captain.
It took about 30 minutes to find a shark. Another boat found the shark, and Alberto used good judgement in waiting our turn with this shark rather than taking our chances with another. On the ride out, Raul shared lots of information about the sharks as well as the snorkel. He told us we would be in the water for 5-10 min
When it was our turn we got in the water with Alberto yelling the direction to swim to the shark. To our surprise, we got 30 min to swim with this amazing fish.
After 30 min we got back in the boat was greeted with snacks and a water and headed back. When we got back Fish Tacos were waiting.
This company was a bit more expensive, but worth every penny for the service. I highly recommend- thanks again to Laura, Alberto, and Raul

Met up early, everyone was introduced. Thirty minute ride out into the pacific. Starting chumming the waters with blood, fish guts etc... that day took over an hour to get some action, but we did. A nice Baby Blue shark rolled in and put on a pleasant show for us. Very curious guy. He got close, let us rub him while he picked off some píeces of fish in the water. Jacopo and his crew were fun and very careful at all times. They definitely know how to respect and handle sharks. It’s one thing being in a cage or spotting them while diving, but attracting, feeding and interacting is in a whole different arena. I will be going back next month for another round. Everyday is different, depends on currents, temperatures etc... but highly recommended

We are happy you that you were able to join us for a great day on the water. It's difficult to describe what it's like to interact with a blue shark until you have seen how curious they are. We also do our best to teach our guests safe shark diving practices. And you are right everyday is different and we always do our best to get the sharks there and ensure a safe, fun, information filled excursion. Looking forward to you joining us next month for some more shark action- perhaps Makos!

If you want unforgettable underwater experiences and true professionalism, just stop looking elsewhere and book with Cabo Shark Dive.
Dave V. picked up my 12 year old son and I from our resort and we headed to Cabo Pulmo. This was my son’s first reef dive and it did not disappoint! Dave was awesome with both of us, but paid particular attention to my son which I thoroughly appreciated. Pulmo is spectacular and absolutely worth the hour and 45 minute drive from CSL. We saw huge schools of snapper and grunts, rays, moray eels, and the reefs are beautiful. We also listened to nearby whales singing. So cool.
Two days later, our whole family did the shark swim. After a quick visit by an 8 foot blue shark, we waited about an hour and then the fun began. A small 5 foot male and about a 7 foot female came up, and we all went in. These gorgeous and curious sharks hung out with us for over an hour! It was truly magical, and Dave’s expert eye captured spectacular images for us - all frame worthy. Thanks to Miguel, Ulysses and the rest of the crew!
We will be back for certain!

It was an absolute pleasure to share time with you and your family. I know how important and meaningful it is to share special moments with family, as I have a family as well, and I was so happy to share those moments with you and yours. I scheduled an appointment for myself and they put me with a group so as long as they have other people booking on that day your fine. They will let you know if the day chosen isn’t available to go out.

I'm sorry just saw this. We decided on an afternoon session hoping to see sharks coming to feed late afternoon/ early evening. We didn't have the best of luck that day, but at least we saw one. 😊

We brought all of our own snorkel equipment. The operators want it to be dark colors though, so no bright colored equipment. They also provide snorkel equipment, wetsuits, water, and snacks.

The dude that takes you out is a pro photographer with thousands of $ in underwater equipment. He sends you all the pics for free. Bring your go pro though! And yes, you will definitely see sharks in mid Jan. They have a species chart on their website by time of year.
