- After being picked up at your hotel, head to the ATV base camp near El Migrino River, where you’ll meet your guide. (There is an additional $15 entrance fee to the camp, which is not included in the tour price.) Following a quick talk covering safety and the handling of the ATV, travel off the beaten path and explore the surrounding desert landscape; bring a bandana to protect against the sandy conditions. Then, head toward Migrino Beach, with its pounding waves and ocean cliffs. At the end of the tour, get dropped off at your hotel.

amazing experience if you are willing to spend a little extra money on add-ons. we already planned on upgrading to a private tour, since we had 2 new ATV drivers and to allow for photographs, however we upgraded to automatic ATVs once we arrived (which included the insurance fee), and we had to pay $20 per person for the park fee (they preferred cash). our guide was daniel, and he was amazing. daniel was knowledgeable, funny, and easy-going, and customized our tour to us. he walked us through how to drive the ATVs and started us out on nice easy terrain. the entire trip had breathtaking views of the beach and desert. daniel kept a fast enough pace for the 21 year old in our group to enjoy and stopped frequently to allow the slower group members to catch up. one of our ATVs would not accelerate properly so we parked on the beach for 10 minutes to wait for a new one, take pictures and whale watch before we were back on our way. after an hour long ride we arrived at the park for bathrooms, snacks, and camels. all of the camels have been rescued from farms or circuses, and the camel out for pictures is named linda. linda loves people and carrots and would nuzzle her head under peoples arms. after the stop we rode back to the depot, got a free tequila tasting and got a van back to our hotel. would 100% do again!

We had an amazing time on the ATV tour! Our guide, Adrian, was amazing and made sure we knew exactly how to ride and were comfortable before we really got riding. He upgraded us for free and I appreciated the staff at check in explaining all of our options. I had read reviews that they were really pushy and tried upsell on everything— this was not my experience at all!
I would highly recommend the 4pm tour— smaller group because it’s later in the day and we got to see an amazing sunset at the end of our tour. We also rode through the valley and got to see cows and other wildlife. We will definitely be back again to ride with Adrian!

We booked this tour as a fun birthday adventure for my husband and I was a little nervous at first, as I'd never ridden a 4Wheel before, but it was so fun! Another couple went with us and we booked it as private for an extra $150 for the four of us. Our guide was Luis (Luigi) and he was nice, informativeand made us all feel comfortable. It lasted about 2-ish hours and we rode the beach, into the desert and back out through the beach. We loved riding the beach! So beautiful!! Bonus that we saw whales 🐳
Afterwards, you can do a free tequila tasting and our friend bought two bottles of very expensive, aged tequila. They will not let you take cell phones, cameras or Gopros, so if you want pictures, you'll need to buy theirs...$20 per picture or $104 (negotiat down from the ridiculous $150 starting price) for the USB of all of them. I highly recommend this tour and definitely request Luis.
Afterwards, you can do a free tequila tasting and our friend bought two bottles of very expensive, aged tequila. YOU CANNOT USE YOUR OWN CAMERA! Unless you pay $150 USD for a private tour. They want youl to buy the photos they take.
I wouldn't book with them again! They are fairly pricey and there are way to many hidden fees. They expect $25 Park fees per person at the location plus an additional $45 a person for insurance and that is a non negotiable. When the hotels, airlines, timeshare sales guys sell it they give you a $20 discount but they make that up with all the fees and insurances.
The tour ends up being extremely short for what you pay. We did ATVs for about 40 minutes and the camels we only rode for about 20 minutes. Most of the time ends up bring instructions and travel to the camels. The ATVs were fun but the ride was too short for what you pay.
Our tour guide(Reyes) was great and the stars are only for him. If it weren't for him I would probably give Cactus tours zero stars.
After paying about $400 USD for everything the tour guide guilt trips you by saying his family depends on tips and he would appreciate if we would leave tips. I dont blame him but thr company should really pay their staff better considering they charge so much.

We would like to mention that our no electronics policy is for safety reasons as our tours require guests full attention and cell phones and cameras do frequently become a distraction. Any hands-free devices are always allowed on any of our tours at no additional cost! The only mandatory fees we have include the price of the tour, and the park entrance fee which is explained before purchasing, as well as posted on our website. Any other fees are just extra services we provide for those interested, and are completely optional. Our combo tours are popular because they include two activities for the same price and time as one regular activity. If more time is desired, you could always do just the ATV tour and receive up to two hours of riding time! I agree with what others have been saying about this place being misleading. When I booked this trip, I was not told the details such as having to upgrade to an automatic ATV as well as about the insurance and not being able to take your phone to take any pictures. It really would have been easy to stop at the beach to take a picture. We probably would have still booked the trip, but it would have been nice to have known this upfront. They hide this information from you until you travel all the way there and are already invested. My son and I ended up making the most of it and having a great time, thanks to Enselmo. Enselmo is a gem. He made sure to explain everything and continued to check in on us and make sure we were all comfortable and enjoying our experience. We appreciated Enselmo making sure that we had a great time despite the rocky start.

We've done numerous adventures in Playa Del Carmen, Porta Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas and this is by far on the bottom of that list. There are so many things that could have been incredible if this was organized.
Pros: The scenery is beautiful
Cons: They claim this is two hours but as you will note in many other reviews it is more like 60 minutes of riding.
You will spend hours driving, waiting in lines, filling out forms and doing more waiting for your group to be formed before you can go out riding. If you don't mind a day spent on an adventure that lasts 60 min this is perfect.
You can't take any of your own pictures. They take the pictures and want to charge $104 US. Unless you want to be gouged on pic prices don't plan on having any picture memories of this spendy tour.
In addition to the $200 we paid as a couple, there was a $40 on site fee we had to pay and then you are pressured to tip 15% at the end of the ride.
So many things they could do to make this a great experience but so many things they fail at.

We did the beach and desert ATV tour with family and friends ages ranging from 12-57. It was really fun. Our guide Reyes was awesome! He gave us great instructions on operating the ATVs and looked out for us the entire time to make sure we were safe. The views of the ocean and desert were amazing, If it’s your first time operating an ATV, I recommend getting the fully automatic ATV. Definitely worth getting off your resort for a few hours to enjoy an ATV adventure with Cactus ATV tours.

What a blast!
We had a 2 hour ATV ride with Leon. It was one of the best times I have had on an ATV. Leon has a great sense of humor, is super concerned with safety and makes sure you have a fantastic time. There was a large group with my cousin and I and Leon made sure that we were included, safe and were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. It was a gorgeous day and we made so many great memories!
Next time I would choose the private tour because you get to keep your phone. I am sure after the $100 I spent on their photos, it would have probably been simular in price. No complaints though! I will be back!
Big shout out to this company.... I lost my USB drive with all of our photos while traveling home. They were happy to email me the pictures at no added cost in less than an hour from when I contacted them. KUDOS! Highly impressed!

Reyes was a wonderful tour guide. He explained the rules before we started and was clear on things we could and could not do. The views were beautiful. The sunset view was amazing. The only downside to this whole tour was we couldn’t bring our phones so we could take our own pictures. They took pictures throughout the tour only to charge $20 for 1. All in all the experience was great and I would do it again.

We are so glad you had an overall great experience! Just for future reference, We do have our cell phone policy in place for safety reasons to avoid accidents as our tours since they require a lot of attention. We do however have a few options to be able to take your own photos. We do allow cell phones on private tours. It is much easier for our guides to pay close attention to each individual and keep everyone safe and does not put any of our other clients at risk. We also always allow any hands-free devices such as strapped GoPros on any of our tours! We also offer photo packages so you can get way more photos at a much cheaper price per photo! We are so glad to hear you would come back and we hope this information helps you the next time you visit!

My girlfriend and I were visiting Cabo from the U.S. for the first time. I took time to research the off-road touring companies in advance of our trip, and I am glad that I selected Cactus Tours. We booked the CanAm turbo UTV before the trip because it has the best performance. When we arrived onsite, we were told that we would be part of a group tour. Ughh...I did not want to trail behind a bunch of families while they scoot along the beach at 20mph... so we decided to upgrade to the private excursion and leave everyone else in the dust. Adrian was assigned as our guide, and he was awesome!! From the very beginning, he was professional and courteous, but he also had a great sense of humor and would joke around with us irreverant Californians.
After the safety briefing, we took off onto private trails, and shredded some riverbeds and tight switchbacks. Man... the CanAm really rips!!
After driving for about 5 minutes, Adrian gave us the signal to stop and pull up beside him. Adrian had recognized that my girlfriend in the passenger seat seemed to be uncomfortable. This was a great call on his part, because she was nearly having a panic attack, and was nearly shaking when we stepped out of the vehicle. He calmed her down and reassured her that the vehicle was completely safe and that I was a good driver (I owe you for that one, buddy). He suggested that she get behind the wheel and take control of the CanAm beast to get her bearings. After about 10min of driving, she was pushing that buggy like an Andretti brother and grinning all the while.
From that point on, the tour went smoothly. Adrian was conscious of my desire to push the limits of the machine, but he also tempered my aggression in rough and unfamiliar terrain to keep us safe. The time flew by, and before we knew it the tour came to an end. We grabbed some beers and tacos, and I was sure to tip Adrian handsomely for making it a fun and memorable experience!
