So glad we took this tour of San Miguel.
Angelica ( Angie) was an amazing tour guide. We loved her! Great personality and energy! My husband and I enjoyed learning about the history of San Miguel. She also gave us a lot of inside tips and great restaurant recommendations.

Blessed sanctuary of San Miguel De Allende
Beautiful and exquisite gem of Miguel De Allende Sanctuary of Atotonilco: Mexico’s Sistine Chapel. The hand painted walls and ceiling are breathtaking.

        Magical Church
While we enjoyed Dolores, we really enjoyed the small town of Atotonilco and the Sanctuary. It is is one of the oldest churches in Mexico and it is so well maintained. While it is small, the artwork and murals are just outstanding and so impressive.

        Angelica is a wonderful guide!
Perfect to start our time in San Miguel with a private tour. We were able to see a lot of the city focused on our preferences

        Worth the splurge
Great experience! Very knowledgeable guide who tailored the tour to our interests and our level. We appreciated having a dedicated driver - it made the whole experience smoother and freed up the guide to provide more information and commentary rather than needing to be focused on driving instead.

Touring with Diego is a must if you come to San Miguel.
We travel extensively and tour with guides all over the world. Our guide Diego was one of the best we have ever had. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer every question we had with thoughtful answers. It was like walking through the city with a really smart friend. His love of Mexico and its people is infectious. We cannot recommend highly enough spending time with Diego touring San Miguel and understanding the history of the city and its art.

        Three tours - All excellent!
I took three tours with Catrina Tours - Guanjuanto, Canada de la Virgen and also Dolores Hidalgo & Atontoilco. Each tour was excellent. The tours were well organised with an excellent guide who provided excellent information and the right amount of the time. Never felt rushed and always felt safe especially driven to the sites. Highly recommend!

5 Star Guanajuato tour--worth every peso.
Second time my wife and I used Catrina tours while in SMA, and they exceeded our expectations again. Communication and payment with Diego has been excellent. Our guide and driver showed up early, but did not rush us. Car was a very nice, clean, leather interior mini van (honestly, one of the nicer cars we've seen in SMA). Driver was cautious, thoughtful and timely. Our guide, Angie, was super gracious and welcoming. We had an option to take the same tour with a group, and we're very glad we did a private one with Catrina for a few of the following reasons: we saw views and tunnels we could not have seen in a larger bus, Diego Rivera museum was explained intimately so that we could hear easily and ask questions, local lunch spot was not one we knew, but was a highlight when we saw a quinceanera and wedding outside a church. Most importantly, having a private guide allowed us to maximize our time and wonder the streets without getting lost and adding multiple hours to a day that is already long. The private tour was reasonably priced and worth every peso!

Fantastic Walking Tour in San Miguel de Allende!
My husband and I arrived late afternoon in San Miguel and did a walking tour with Diego. The city is beautiful and its history rich. Diego is highly knowledgeable, passionate and provided an informative, historical context which adds to our experience while here. It was a great introduction to SMA and I highly recommend this tour. Warm and knowledgeable SMA tour
Our guide, Angie was early and provided a warm introduction. Her historical knowledge was deep, but she also knew all the local hot spots. Most important was her willingness to give us insights into SMA and the Mexican culture. She was a joy to spend an afternoon with. We speak some Spanish, but our guide and Catrina Tours spoke perfect English. We will book another tour with Catrina Tours. We found them organized and communicated well. They were warm, but professional—no surprises!

        Amazing tour
Jesus was an incredible tour guide. Twenty-seven year history of living in the city and grew up in San Miguel, we were so lucky to have his as our guide.

The Catrina Tours guide, Maria, was excellent. We also took a walking tour with her. Her English was excellent and her knowledge of history was excellent as well. The first vineyard we went to was incredible and the guide at the vineyard was amazing. After giving us a detailed description of the process of sorting the grapes and the fermentation process she gave us a tour of the cellar. Then we moved on to the tasting and pairing which was exceptional.

My wife and I were intrigued by Mexican wine and decided to take this tour to learn more about it. Catrina tours communication was excellent, I booked my trip through TripAdvisor and received a prompt confirmation. We were picked up from our hotel in a late model large SUV. Our tour guide (Juliette) spoke fluent English and had an amazing amount of knowledge around wine having spent 7 years in France studying wine tourism and completing an internship at a Bordeaux winery. We visited two wineries and got the grand tour for each with an in-depth explanation on how they made their wine. As Australia’s we found it to be a little slow (2 winery visits, tasted 6 wines over a 6 hr period). Speaking with our tour guide it appears that this is a Mexican cultural twist whereby they take things a lot slower and prefer to thoroughly understand the why behind the what (which was fine by us - we are in different country happy to experience the local way). As a comparison in Oz we would probably visit 4 - 6 wineries in the same time frame. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this tour, we learnt a lot about Mexican wines and the wineries we visited. We were also pleasantly surprised with the quality of wines for such a young grape region (I wont spoil the history in this review). It’s a must do if you are passionate about wine and can spare the time.

The Wineries are just beautiful. I do wish we had been offered a pairing at both locations. We ended up ordering a cheese board at dos buhos anyway. It was just a lovely day.

My mom and I enjoyed 2 wine tastings with cheese pairings with Catrina tours' Alejandro and a separate driver, Brandon. The wineries were gorgeous and our guides at each were extremely knowledgable, friendly and served us awesome wines. We were gone from about 1030-1430. Given the length of tour, winery stops (2) and tipping of our guides at each winery as well as tour guide and driver, I felt this tour was a bit over-priced. However, we did enjoy our time at both places and purchased wine at each spot.
