Best guided trail ride ever! Highly recommend adventures with Coyote Canyon!!
I’ve been on quite a few guided trail rides, and this by far stands out as the best! I am an experienced rider, but went with family who have ridden only a few times before. The horses were very well trained and everyone had a great time, being able to relax and enjoy themselves and the beautiful scenery of the canyon. We got lucky and it was just our group and the guides. We were well taken care of and June captured amazing photos and videos of the experience for us. The ranch lunch was delicious and had beautiful views. Israel was a fantastic guide to the Cañada de la Virgen pyramids, we learned so much about what’s been discovered there. Coyote Canyon was overall a fantastic experience, I would highly recommend anyone visiting San Miguel to book an experience with this company!

Our guide June was perfect- she’s a talented lady, can baked a horse and knows how to show her guests a great time. The horses were perfectly trained.

Best way to see the countryside
The best! Able to ride with 3 generations of our family and it was equally exciting and beautiful and secure for all of us, thanks to the “cowboys” and our amazing guide!

      Artisan cooking classes
We wanted to visit an original family from the area and learn about their ancient cooking practices, learning how their grandparents lived. Coyote Canyon Adventures arranged for this. We cooked 9 different dishes (platillos) and learned how to do tortillas. We did a fantastic guacamole and salsa and many ancient dishes with local ingredients. Nearly everything was vegetable based. Federico, our guide, was most helpful and stayed with us making sure we are comfortable at all times, whilst explaining to us the history of the area.

Best ride I have done yet. Thank you Yunuen and team
This was by far the best horseback riding tour I have done. The scenery was beautiful, the cowboys and our guides were fantastic, especially Yunuen. She was an amazing rider and guide. Highly recommend making sure she is part of your ride. Loved watching the dogs run along with us especially Wookie. Also, the lunch they provided at the family ranch was very authentic and tasty.

A Once in a lifetime Adventure
Visited San Miguel in January of 2024 and I can assuredly say that this was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my life. You ride horses, like a real cowboy, down and then back up an enormous canyon surround by some of the most beautiful country in the world. My family and I were lucky enough to do the ride in the evening so we got to watch the sunset on horseback. Then after being guided home by the most lovely and helpful guides, you get to eat beautiful, naturally sourced food made from scratch on the farm where you start your ride! Additionally, I was pretty much phobic of horses before I tried this and now my perspective on horses and riding has totally changed. A must do if your near San Miguel De Allende 10/10 Would do again in a heartbeat.

      Great!
Well organized. Easy to book. Authentic. This was a great experience, not your typical horses following head to tail by rote memory. Suitable for all ages and all levels of rising skill. Authentic Mexican lunch at end of ride.

      Wonderful experience
This tour is a must if you’re in San Miguel de Allende. Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke great English, and made the experience memorable along with the rancheros who accompanied us. You can tell the horses are very well raised and cared for, and experience the rancheros’ knowledge that’s been passed down for generations. Overall it was an incredible experience, the homemade lunch we had after was delicious as well. Thank you!!!

Unique experience with great people and amazing views!
Our guide, Freddy, was very accommodating and helpful, and so is the rest of the team. We really liked the fact that they prioritized safety; there were 3 of us, and we had 3 other handlers, including Freddy, with us throughout. One of the guides had a medical kit with him. The views were amazing and we had a delicious meal at the end. Everyone had a great time. We were a bit sore afterwards, but it's definitely worth it! :)

Best trail ride of my life…
This trail ride was the best in my life. My wife and I try to book a ride everywhere we go so we have a lot of experience doing them. Our trail boss, Junuen, speaks great English and was lovely to work with and all of the ranch hands that rode along with us for safety were equally helpful. The ride into and up to the top of the canyon was the most scenic we’ve experienced and the horses were incredibly easy to control. We saw some excellent riding on the vaqueros’ and Junuen’s part as they galloped ahead and behind us to get photos and videos. There were five or six opportunities to gallop from 30 seconds to minutes at a time. (You could opt not to gallop if that worried you. Those who decided to gallop such as myself had to wait for the others to come up but it worked well as a group because you want a breather after you stop.) Next time we come to San Miguel we will book the trip with the same people again. Thank you everyone who made this possible. It could not have been a more fun experience.

      Awesome experience!
Want to see how the real cowboys live? And ride horses through small rivers? Monique was our guide and she is so awesome!! We had a wonderful time and the horses were very well trained and I felt very safe while having a lot of fun on this half day tour. It felt like the perfect amount of time for me (as someone who enjoys horses but am not a frequent horseback rider)

We went with Coyote Canyon Adventures to visit this site. Lino was our guide. Very informative and quick to answer all our questions. We also added the ranch lunch afterwards. Great experience. Had our daughters traveling with us and they all enjoyed it. Great guide. We’ve also done the horseback riding with them years ago and it was also a great experience. Don’t let the cool weather in the morning fool you. Dress in layers. By the time you reach the top you’ll have certainly removed the sweaters and jackets. Take a hat, water and wear sunblock.

Traveling with my mother I was on the lookout for a partial day tour that wasn’t too strenuous, and this tour fit the bill perfectly. Out guide Lino was very knowledgeable and also answered many questions that were not even about the archeological ruins. The lunch was very good and hit the spot after our excursion.

I really enjoyed our tour with Lino as our guide. The aspects of the tour that aren't clear: everyone waits at visitor center for all tour groups to arrive and then loads onto a bus that takes you to the site. You have to leave backpacks and purses at the visitor center. They will lock into lockers and give you the key. From the bus, it's a slightly uphill long walk to the actual pyramid. Beautiful vistas all around. We were very happy with the information that our guide gave us. Our small group was then taken to a home nearby for a home-cooked meal taken outside. It was a very nice experience.

This was a very spiritual experience for me. The clouds, the wind, a spattering of rain and stories of ancient pilgrimage, all contributed to a unique trip. Be prepared to walk and hike. Also, backpacks are not permitted so I’d advise pockets for phone and water. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the site as well as wildlife

Canada de la Virgen is an awesome archaeological site, but it would be boring without a knowledgeable guide to explain it all. Lino did a fantastic job in explaining the significance of the site, what it was used for, and how it fared during the Spanish takeover. Be prepared to walk a couple of kilometers, bring water and sunscreen, but other than that it's not a problem physically. Our lunch was also memorable - traditional Mexican foods made from fresh ingredients at a small local ranch. Have fun!

I did the pyramid site tour + lunch in December 2019. This was a great, low-impact, half-day trip to get out of the town and see something different.

The man who greeted us at the office in the morning, Daniel, was very kind and welcoming. They have a restroom in the office that tour participants can use before and after the tour.

At the pyramid they limit the amount of people that come in and out so it's a nice, intimate experience. Our guide, Lino, was very knowledgable, engaging and friendly. I highly recommend doing the lunch add-on at the ranch. It was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with incredible food and a nice view of the countryside.

What a wonderful trip with Lino, our guide, to the Canada de la Virgen site. We did the tour with lunch - I recommend this option. Lino was very informative about the temples and especially how they were constructed to coincide with both the lunar and solar calendars - fascinating information and amazing in the accuracy of the construction. The lunch was served on the porch of a ranch and was cooked by the family there - it was authentic Mexican food and absolutely delicious.

Our guide was so dedicated to sharing his fascination and knowledge of this site that he really drew our group in to experience more. We were able to walk admidst the ruins and climb the main structure with a panoramic view over the valley and to the mountains beyond. A nice walk to arrive at the site on a hilltop, experiencing the desert landscape.
