About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Yvonne V0 contributions1001% the best excursion we have ever done! The cenotes were absolutely breathtaking. Once in a lifetime experience! This was the best excursion we have ever had!!! 100% our favorite day of our entire trip! Juan was super kind and extremely knowledgeable. The two cenotes were incredible!! The first cenote was open air with tons of fish. We had it all to ourselves which was very nice and we had lots of fun snorkeling. The second cenote was absolutely breathtaking. It was an underground cave and we felt like we were in a different world as we swam through it. We had bats flying around and the quiet and beauty of the cave was unbelievable. It literally was hard to comprehend that what we were seeing was real. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Juan provided wet suits, life jackets and flashlights which made the swim through the caves completely stress free. He also was so kind to take photos of us and knew the perfect spots and how to do that with the lights. (I recommend bringing a phone/camera in a waterproof pouch). It worked great! At the end Juan provided us with drinks and snacks. The fresh mango was so delicious. Our family of five spent one week in Tulum/Rivera Maya and the excursion with Juan was hands down our favorite day of the entire trip. I 100% recommend this excursion!Written March 3, 2025
- Julieannejulie0 contributionsEpic experienceThe most amazing experience doing the above and underground Cenote tour! Juan, our tour guide was perfection! He was timely, attentive, and knowledgeable about the cenotes. He was passionate about the cenotes and made the tour exciting and interesting. My husband and I along with another couple couldn’t have been more pleased with the unforgettable experience. This isn’t like your regular cookie cutter tour being herded like cattle with busy places. It was personal and not crowded. Amazing sights you won’t see on any other tour. HIGHLY recommend!!!!Written February 11, 2023
- Felipe L0 contributionsPrivate and Magical CenotesWe visited Sian Ka´an and Pet Cementary and it was more than we expected. We didn´t want to visit a Cenote with a lot of people and there was no one around. Besides they knew exactly the time to visit in order to get the best views. The really made the visit pleasant as they gave us everything we needed and told us about everything from the get go. If you want to visit Cenotes use Tulum Underground as they really know how to satisfy your needs. P.S. They also advised us on places for great authentic Tacos...use their knowledge as they really know all of Tulum.Written March 28, 2019

Just me and my partner on this private guided world class adventure. If you are looking to do something that most other tourists do not do. And have a experience that will be memorable and an amazing one to share with family and friends sign up for this. And most importantly, take a camera or get one of those plastic sleeves that you can put your phone in. I did this with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and it was wonderful photos and video underwater throughout the caves truly a memorable experience I will be bringing friends and family back to show this experience in the future. I highly recommend this vendor very friendly and a step above all the other vendors in this area, he knows where to go and take people that others do not.

My wife and I went with JUAN on 1/4/24. ABSOLUTELY amazing. Juan was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who loves what he does. We went to the open Cenote first, and were the only ones there for almost the entire time (about an hour) - peaceful, tranquil and amazing. We were never felt rushed. After fully enjoying the snorkeling and taking in the experience, we went to the underground river. We spent over 90 minutes exploring, with Juan explaining what we were seeing, with just the right amount of commentary. He was very attentive and interactive. Both locations felt very private and worth the money. If you are looking to avoid the hustle and crowds, and want the fresh water experience, I highly recommend Juan!!!!

If I could leave a higher rating I would. Our guide was Juan and he was absolutely amazing!!!! We did a private tour of multiple cenotes. I would recommend doing private tours it’s much more peaceful than with a bigger group. Juan took us to some of the most beautiful cenotes. Clearest water ever with lots of fish. We also went deep into Sac Actun caves. He even went out of his way to show us a cenote that only locals know about. Juan cares about the land and nature so much and he is very knowledgeable about it all. If you can pick a guide then Juan is the best!! He gave us other recommendations on restaurants and places to go that we did try and they didn’t disappoint. 110% recommend doing this private tour!

There are a dizzying number of tour guides, but who you go with matters. If you like to avoid crowds, go to hidden gems, travel with a knowledgeable guide who is fun to be around and takes care of the environment, this is the right tour.
Some cenotes are parks. Commercialized, lots of people, highly developed property, etc. Similarly some tours will have a bus load of people. Those are just a completely different experience than this tour with Juan which goes to more secluded places with just your private group and I highly recommend it.

Without a doubt the BEST part of our Mexico vacation!! The open air cenote had tiny fish swimming around and was the perfect introduction to a cenote. The second cenote was a cave system that was flooded and should honestly be considered the 8th wonder of the world. By the way, we were the ONLY people there, which added to the serenity and made the experience truly feel private! Have you ever seen a rainbow colored tropical bird perched in a tree… in a cave?! Seriously, STOP & book this tour! We are beyond happy to have been taken to a local’s favorite spots than being shoulder to shoulder at the more popular places. One thing this tour reminded us of, popular does NOT mean better!
Our tour guide Juan was so knowledgeable about the area and shared tons of other fun facts along the way. He explained how important cenotes were for the Maya culture and the history behind the places we visited. Thank you Juan for making this a trip of a lifetime - you are awesome!! Btw he also provided fresh fruit, water, drinks, and light snacks to hold us over until we were dropped back off at our hotel.

This private trip incorporated a visit to the Tulum ruins and the Saca Ctum underground cenote. Communication with the tour provider has been excellent prior to leaving the UK.
We were collected from the hotel at 07:30 by our guide Eduardo. He provided us with an informative tour of the ruin and the an hour-long swimming tour of the cenote. Buoyancy-aid, snorkel mask and torch were provided. The cenote is lit inside although the torch helps see underwater and also to follow the fruit bats flying around.
Eduardo’s car was clean, modern and stocked with beer, water and snacks for our tour. He was polite, personable and engaging and a pleasure to spend time with.

This was the highlight of our week! Juan was knowledgeable, patient, entertaining, and spoke perfect english. On new years day, when many tour operators are closed, Juan took us on a private tour to two gorgeous secluded cenotes -- the second we had all to ourselves! In the first, I accidentally dived into the water with my iphone. When I realized this some 10 minutes later and noted that the iphone was no longer in my pocket, he helped me search for it. We eventually found it at the bottom of the cenote, and amazingly, after retrieving it, it was in perfect working condition! Pretty incredible. He's also a freediver, and gave me some tips on freediving in the cenote! Fantastic experience.

Juan was great and so were the cenotes! We were lucky to book him super last minute via contacting him on WhatsApp. We were a group of 3 and never felt rushed during the “tour”, which really felt more like exploration. It felt super local and less touristy, so either we went to the less touristy cenotes, or got lucky with timing - probably both. The only thing I would recommend is that clients should bring a change of dry clothes for the car ride back because we were quite cold coming out of the last cenote. I would’ve enjoyed hearing about some history of the area on the car rides, but perhaps I just needed to ask. I would highly recommend this tour!

This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Juan was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to an open air cenote that I can't remember the name of, but it was serene. Quiet and secluded, we swam in the cool calm waters and also sat on the ledge of the rocks while little fish gave us a free pedicure :). Then we went to the main attraction - Sac Actun. This is a beautiful open air and cavernous cenote. We had both of them all to ourselves while there, which added to the magic. Highly recommend!

This tour was the best money we spent while in Tulum! Eduardo was an amazing guide and Sac Actun was truly an amazing Cenote! The second cenote visited was different and also beautiful. Eduardo allowed us time to enjoy and explore both Cenotes, without feeling rushed at all. He is certainly knowledgeable and we felt like nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky enough to have the cenote what felt like to ourselves for a while. This one can’t be missed if you are in Tulum! Thanks Eduardo for the highlight of our stay in Tulum.
