      Such a great time!
Javier Sánchez is an amazing tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and a great photographer. He is also very patient as we were late a few times and he responded very nicely. I would 100% recommend this tour and having Javier be your guide.

A wonderful place doing great work, but beware of purchasing a photo!
Wonderful sanctuary doing great work that inspires and gives hope as the knowledgeable guides tell the stories behind the animals on display. At the front entrance, you can get very close to Ostriches and Zebras! It is a lush jungle walk, so be prepared for mosquitoes. The Flamingos stayed in their pond because their enclosure was overrun with fire ants! There are opportunities to touch some animals along the way. We paid extra for a dip in the Cenote, which was an experience! A word of caution, you may want to pass on the purchase of photos by their photographer, I've been home for a week and the picture has not arrived. It's supposed to be emailed after 24 hours, we assumed it would be ready at the end of our visit. I've been on the phone with them all week, I doubt I'll see the photo OR get my money back.

      Off road quads and caves
The tour was better than expected, louis was very passionate about the monkeys and incredibly knowledgeable. The cenote swim was excellent on its own and worth every penny spent. The water was refreshing to swim in. Being isolated like we were felt incredible. You guys have the best office in the world. I CANNOT SAY HOW MUCH WE RECOMMEND THIS TOUR.

      Nice adventure
We had a lot of fun. Unfortunately not everything was accesible for me due to age and physical health. The climb to the zipline was like a 5 story building which was too much for me unfortunately. The cenotes were nice and nice pictures were taken as through the whole tour. The tour itself is not in Tulum, but almost 40 minutes back towards playa carmen. Since we came from there it would have been cheaper and faster tp go direct. They should have given the option. The photosession you can buy after is nice but expensive. But we buy the memory anyway. The ATV tour was rough but cool to do. I missed a fast section as we never went over 30kph, would have loved to take it a little faster, would also be nice for the video. Overall we had a nice day. The tourguide was fantastic. The lunch a zimple cheese sandwhich with lemonade. I did find its easier to go direct to these type of things if you have a car. Saves a lot. But overal we had a great adventure.

      Great experience
The sanctuary is great, the animals in their care seem well taken care of, Angel was a great guide, great knowledge of the animals. It is great to see a center such as this rescuing all the different animals and giving them a better home.

      A must try excursion!
This was an incredible excursion and well worth it. Abraham was a. Amazing guide and the biosphere is stunning! We were able to see dolphins, a crocodile, manatees, fish and a shark. The snorkeling was a lot of fun as well and the water is so clear.

      Adventure
Fun experience. You will get muddy so definitely wear a ski mask. The tour guides were not as friendly but they did give history of the native land. Big spray is a must. Come fed the food isn’t great

      A memorable & educational experience!
My husband and I had such a great time visiting the sanctuary. Our tour guide Atziri was so informative, patient and kind. It is evident how much she cares for the animals and how passionate she is about educating her tour group (or as she says her “familia”). Gracias por esta experiencia divertida y memorable!

      Family trip
It was a good family day out. The only thing is to bring repellent as there are a lot of mosquitos as it's in like a jungle setting

A Sanctuary of Care and Learning
Visiting the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary was a deeply enriching experience that not only delighted but also educated our group about wildlife conservation efforts in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our knowledgeable guide, Adolfo, whose passion for the animals and dedication to their well-being was evident throughout the tour. Adolfo guided us through the sanctuary, explaining the stories of the animals and the importance of re-introduction programs for species like monkeys, birds, and snakes. The sanctuary itself is thoughtfully designed, providing ample space for the animals to roam in habitats that closely mimic their natural environments. We were able to observe several species up close, including playful monkeys swinging from branches, colorful birds perched in their aviaries, and majestic zebras grazing peacefully. What impressed us most was the sanctuary's commitment to education. Adolfo patiently answered our questions and shared insights into the daily care routines and the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and reintroduce animals into the wild where possible. It was heartwarming to learn about the positive impact of the sanctuary's work on both individual animals and broader conservation efforts in the region. Overall, our visit to the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary was unforgettable, offering a blend of wildlife encounters, educational opportunities, and a deeper understanding of animal welfare issues in Mexico. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an animal lover, or simply curious about conservation efforts, this sanctuary is a must-visit. We left feeling inspired and grateful for places like this that prioritize the well-being of animals and promote awareness of their importance in our ecosystem.

ATV ride, seanote adventure and animal encounter
We rode ATVs and they were very helpful to teach us how to ride them. We got to visit the seanote and that was really cool. We enjoyed going in the water after being warm on the ATV. Then when we came back from the ride we got to learn about the animals they have there. We did upgrade our package to be able to hold a parrot and monkey. That was really neat. I would highly recommend this tour. They were all very nice and helpful. We felt very safe as well. We also got picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
