Amazing day, your group will thank you for booking!
This was such a perfect day! A perfectly balanced day for everyone. We had one guest that was 7 months pregnant and she was able to keep up with the day. Walking around the ruins was very cool, and I appreciated being on our own schedule. The snorkeling was about an hour which was perfect. Warning- you can’t wait sunscreen in the reef, so bring protective clothing. The cenote was so peaceful and beautiful. The lunch at the end was such a nice touch. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone! Our tour guide Hamlet was amazing; he put a lot of extra time and effort into our day. We paid extra to have the tour private to us, and it was so worth it just going at our own pace and enjoying things as long as we wanted to.

The best day of our trip in Cancun!
What an amazing experience with Marina and her team! We are family of 4 and our two young boys enjoyed to the fullest. The snorkeling with stingrays, turtle and fishes were the highlight of the day! Also the cave cenote was an extraordinary adventure. Would like to specifically mention how an excellent tour guide Marina is! She took care of our children like her own and guided them in the water the whole time. She goes out of her way whenever anyone needs any assistance. Her supporting casts were equally helpful. The photographer Pamela did a tremendous job capturing all the precious moments of the day. Overall it was such a pleasant and engaging experience from beginning to end and we want to thank everyone involved in this incredible adventure! Highly highly recommended!

A perfect excursion to the ruins. Swimming with sea turtles and visiting an underground cenote, local lunch and tequila.
Ocean tours was responsive from the initial booking of the excursion. Leading up to the day of, they provide communication through what’s app. They promptly picked us up at our hotel. We met Anna and Tony. They were very personable. We promptly moved along to pick up three other couples. The group got along extremely well and we were all from different countries. Our discussions throughout the trip was pleasurable and Anna did a great job moving our discussions along. The Ruins were beautiful and Anna was very knowledgeable. We continued along to Akumel to swim with sea turtles. We were delayed an hour due to a bad crash on the highway however Anna and Tony did not let that take away from our time snorkeling. Anna and the Akumel guide did an excellent job looking for sea turtles to alert us so that we could swim with them. On we went to the Cenote. We are glad we chose this one as it was an underground cenote. We jumped in and flowed through the underground jungle. Crystal clear waters. It was our favorite. Then we enjoyed a local taco lunch followed by tequila tastings. I would recommend this trip and I would do the same trip of if I came back.

Balam, balam! Hamlet is the bomb!
We had a FANTASTIC time with Hamlet on our tour of Mayan ruins, snorkel with turtles, and swim in a cenote. He was super knowledgeable and a ton of fun! Hamlet and our driver, Carlos, went out of their ways to make sure our group had a great time. It was the best day of our trip. 100% recommend booking this tour, and DON’T FORGET TO ASK FOR HAMLET 😃

          A perfect Mexican excursion
On this trip,We felt we saw the best that this part of Mexico has to offer in one day! this combination of Tulum ruins, the turtles and a cenote was perfect !If you do one day trip from playa del carmen, do this one. Our guide Philae was amazing. She speaks many languages perfectly and gave us so much information on every part of the trip. She was the perfect host, we couldn’t have had a better guide! My only wish is that we d taken anti bac wipes to wipe the company’s snorkel equipment before using it , as my husband went down with a tummy bug the night after the trip. (I’m sure it wasn’t the food as I had the same food and was ok.)Of course it may not have been from the snorkel at all but next time we will take our own wipes or snorkels, to be sure.

          Excellent Outing
Mariano and Joaquin gave our family of 5 a wonderful tour of the Tulum archeological site. Then to a more private cenote that was exceptional. Rafeael’s pictures captured our experience well

          Amazing day, incredible tour guide!
This was an incredible excursion! We had such a great day. Marina was a fantastic tour guide - fun, friendly, informative and easy to be around. She swam with our 2 kiddos (8 & 11) while snorkeling so that they weren’t scared and we knew they were safe. Can’t say enough good things about her! The lunch was delicious and the cenote caves were unbelievable - our favorite part of the day. Ismael took great pictures so we can remember the day and our driver Arain was great. Overall a really amazing and memorable experience! Highly recommend!!

Sea turtles, sting ray, ziplining, and rappelling into a beautiful cenote all in one day. One of the best excursions I’ve ever been on. Hamlet was an amazing guide and Jorge was an awesome driver.

Fun and everyone should do it
The ruins tour was informational and Carlos said he could talk for hours about it. We were able to see so many sea turtles during the snorkeling tour. The cenote tour was the perfect way to end the day especially with lunch and going into the refreshing water. I would recommend to anyone

Great group tour for all ages
Excellent guide and as a solo traveller I felt welcomed by the guide and the group we travelled with. The guide was very accommodating. We had 3 younger children and adults up to age 66 (me - I was the senior one) but the guide was able to involve everyone in the activities and was very knowledgeable about the places we saw. You do need to be relatively fit to walk, swim the cenote and snorkel. It made for a long day but a very enjoyable day!

          - pick up on time, they coordinate pick up location and time with you a day earlier - booking through TripAdvisor you can pay using credit card and usd - our guide was Luis B, he made everyone feel like family. Kept the energy high throughout the day water was choppy at the sea while snorkeling so he kept watching everyone - snorkeling : sea was choppy so view wasn’t super clear but we managed to see 3-4 turtles and string rays. Duration felt short - cenote : they have 3 different cenotes they can take you to. We won’t to one called ‘balam’ , refreshing clear water and awesome experience Overall recommend for everyone

The guide we had, T, was very passionate and knowledgeable throughout the whole trip. He was nice and comedic and educational. The van was on time and was equipped with air conditioning and snacks and cold drinks.

The turtle excursion was awesome. You actually only get to see the turtles for about 10-15 minutes but when you see them, it is breathtaking. We saw four during our snorkel and all four of them peaked their heads out of the water. It was an amazing experience.

The cenote was beautiful! We even got to see tons of bats.

Bring extra cash to get into the park where you see the turtles. They will have a professional photographer tagging along that will sell you all the pictures he takes for $60.

Had such a great time on this tour. The staff were all polite and professional, arrived on time and very knowledgeable of the area. We were picked up from our resort and spent about 2 hours at Akumal beach snorkeling with the turtles. Saw a ton of fish, 8 turtles and 2 stingray. Then took a short ride over to Dos Ojos cenote and was there for 2 hours exploring the cenote. Had a quick empanada lunch and back on the bus. This was a perfect amount of time to take a break from the resort and learn something about the area. It was raining off and on the whole time, but nobody seemed to care. Total time was 5 hours, we were 15 mins from Akumal so last ones on the bus and first ones out. Purchased some beautiful photos they took and received them via email 2 hours after we were dropped off. Great tour, highly recommend!

Starting from pick up, the driver was a bit late for pick up but we didn’t mind it. The company was quick to reach out and we had enough time to grab a snack because they were very specific with the time and how late they’ll be. The van was very clean and stocked with cold drinks. Our driver was Chuchu Hernandez who kept all our belongings safe and got us to where we needed to go at a great pace. He also hopped out and helped to give snacks and other things!

Our guide Daniel was very fun and energetic - always with a laugh and some funny comments. He had a lot of knowledge of cenotes and made sure we see all the animals. We are not that strong swimmers and he made us feel very safe, always checking in to see if we are okay.

The photographer was Wendy who sent around 66 photos for around $55 for a couple. It was a great deal because it allowed us to travel without our phones and freely experience and enjoy. We rarely even realized she was there taking the photos. We had some designated photo spots and they all came out amazing. Very clear quality.

Additionally the entire tour was coordinated very well from start to finish. The snacks were also yummy - empanadas were good! And everything was very smooth sailing from jumping off the boats to snorkel to showering after when we were back to go to the cenotes. Very fun day - went by quick!

It sounds like you had a wonderful experience overall, despite a minor delay in pick-up. It's great to hear that the company communicated effectively about the delay and provided ample time for you to prepare. Chuchu Hernandez's attentiveness and assistance, along with the clean and well-stocked van, contributed to a comfortable journey. Daniel's enthusiastic guidance and attention to safety during the tour made you feel at ease, especially in the water. Wendy's photography service seems to have been a highlight, allowing you to fully immerse yourselves in the experience without worrying about capturing memories on your phones. The smooth coordination of the tour, delicious snacks, and seamless transitions between activities made for a thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you for sharing your detailed and positive feedback! So disappointed with Cancun adventures. We booked a swimming with sea turtles and cenote tour. We started off with the Cenote and Mon who was our tour guide was very sweet and kind, told us we can’t bring cameras or anything with us. However, Alejandra didn’t give us a full Cenote tour. Afterwards, the photographer told us pictures taken were $200 for the family of 3. We thought it was too expensive so we didn’t pay. When we got into the van, another family was told that photos were $75. I guess the staff jacked up the price on us thinking we should have to pay extra because of our race whereas the other family who is white didn’t have to pay extra. That really the soured the whole mood, even though our next excursion was swimming with a sea turtles. Definitely won’t come back for this tour again because I feel like Cancun Adventure staff are very racist.

Dear B2557RArubyt, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We believe there may be some confusion, as our company is Ocean Tours Mexico, not Cancun Adventures, which was mentioned in your review. We take all concerns about fairness and equality very seriously and strive to provide exceptional service to all our guests. However, as this experience does not involve our company, we kindly recommend reaching out directly to the operator you booked with to address your concerns. If you ever wish to explore the Riviera Maya again, we would be more than happy to welcome you on one of our tours and ensure you have a wonderful experience. Best regards,

I really enjoyed this excursion, however I have to give the experience one star because I still have not received my pictures after paying $40 for them and sending multiple emails requesting them. My boyfriend and I did the excursion on 1/24 and after seeing the photos decided we wanted to buy them. At the end of the trip we paid $40 cash and received an email receipt which said we would be able to download the pictures within 72 hours. After getting home from our vacation I realized we still had not received our photos. I wasn’t too concerned and figured I may have misspelled my email when giving them my contact info. I sent an email on 2/1 to an email provided on the receipt explaining the situation even including my order number. I did not hear back and on 2/3 I sent another email. I have yet to get a response and now almost a month later have not received my photos after paying $40. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by this experience. I do hope this is an honest mistake that can get sorted out but I would caution anyone wanting to buy photos to pay with a credit in the event that a similar situation happens to you you are able to at least get your money back. Hoping that this review will be enough to get Ocean Tours attention so they can rectify the situation.

Half Day Snorkel with Turtles and Cenote was a great tour! Our guide was Alejandro (with Jess training, Edgar the driver) and we were promptly picked up at our hotel at the designated time (805am from Playa del Carmen). It was about 30-45 minutes to the first snorkeling stop, Akumal Beach. Our guide was great about explaining what was going to happen and make everyone comfortable. There was a total of 9 people on the tour. For snorkeling, they take you out on a boat and jump into the water, drifting back to the shore while the guides find turtles for you to see. We saw at least 10 turtles, it was amazing. After this, we drove about 15 minutes to Yax-Muul cenote. Beware there is a very bumpy ride through the jungle once you're off the highway. We went into the cenote as a group and it seemed like it was just us swimming through. Alejandro taught us so much about the cenotes and they were so beautiful. What an amazing experience. Afterwards, you sit down together for homemade empanadas and beverages. Additionally, there is a photographer with you during each activity so you can experience nature with your eyes and not looking through a phone. For a couple, the photos were around 55 usd and we could charge to our credit card. We received the link the next day and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL, a great reminder of our trip. We arrived back to our hotel by 2pm. I loved this excursion and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you Alejandro for the amazing day!

Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience! Alejandro, Jess, and Edgar sound like an incredible team, ensuring everything ran smoothly and creating such a memorable day for your group. Seeing 10 turtles at Akumal Beach and learning so much about the cenotes must have been magical! The attention to detail, like the photographer capturing the moments so you could stay present, and the delicious homemade empanadas, really adds to the experience. It’s great to hear how much you loved it and that the photos turned out beautifully. I’ll be sure to recommend this tour to others—thank you for the glowing review!

It wasn’t a half day for me - was staying in a hotel in Cancun centre, first to get on bus at 6:10 and last off at 17:10. Completely exhausted afterwards mainly from time spent on the minibus.

Turtle swimming was too restrictive and way too many people - obviously it’s a protected species but honestly if I had known it would be like that I would have skipped it. It felt sad listening to everything you can’t do while there are some many people visiting. They need to shut it down as a tourist attraction if they are serious about protecting the ecosystem.

The cenote swim was ok but I enjoyed that more on a separate trip to Chitchen Itza and the cost for the whole thing isn’t cheap.

Tour guide did his best but could not get photos of anything as they wouldn’t look after anything taken off the bus.

We were meant to picked up at 07:45 and the transport turned up late.
        Our guide was Martin Buisson.
Travel time overall was long and the light lunch consisted of a cake or small focaccia type bread. Water was provided.
We arrived at the beach first where we had photos taken by Martin, our guide. Couples and groups, on the beach and in the ocean.
We were asked to form a circle around the buoy when a turtle was seen, trying to form a circle and not get hit or kicked by others when swimming is quite difficult.

Overall we saw maybe three turtles.
Back to the beach we collected our things and returned life vests when we travelled to the cenote.

It is beautiful and again had photos taken.
I didn’t go into the cave area due to claustrophobia but my partner did and had more pics taken.

Overall we felt this trip was rushed.
We paid $50 US dollars for the photos and was informed these would be sent in 72 hours.

They were, but only two photos of us and a load of pictures of complete strangers. To top it off the videos are not professional.

We are really disappointed that a trip we would like to have treasured in photos is ruined by a guide who clearly stated he was a pro at taking pictures. (Even his wife said he was good)

We are unable to share these with family back home.
Disappointed actually doesn’t come close, we are angry.

At Ocean Tours, we take all feedback seriously and thoroughly investigate any concerns brought to our attention. After reviewing your comments, we must clarify that the details described do not align with our tours or standard practices: Guide Information: We do not have a guide by the name of Martin Buisson on our team. Tour Process and Meals: Our tours are carefully designed to avoid feeling rushed, with ample time at each stop. Additionally, we provide freshly prepared empanadas by the local community as part of our lunch offering, rather than the meal described in your review. This is a JUST BOOK for sure. Young old, this is very easy on the body. This was one of four snorkel excursions we went on while staying in Cancun. Dont even waste your time looking for another. If you want picked up and taken straight to the best reef and sea-life snorkeling ever and be back to the resort by dinner this is it. We saw lots of turtles up close among all types of other sea life on a private beach area. The cave cenote was unbelievable as well. The food was amazing. Caesar our tour guide was just awesome. Best guide we have ever worked with. Conducted the whole day like an orchestra. Extremely professional, spoke every couple sentences in both english and Spanish, made us all feel like familia.
Jesus drives like a professional get away driver, plays no games and wastes no time and very safe as well, getting you around and guarding the van with our possessions at stops. Cheese was an amazing photographer, diver, under water cinematographer and the picture package (hundred or more pics and videos) was what one or two pictures singles cost anywhere else. We will come on this every trip down here for sure, cant wait to bring friends to share in this experience.

We loved this fun half day trip! that we took on 9/16/22! It was 8 people which gave the tour a semi-private feeling plus our wonderful team of Baltazar (driver), Nadia (guide), Natalia (photographer). We started off early in Akumal and were amongst the first groups there. Natalia, our photographer, did a group/couple/individual photos on the beach before snorkeling to start off the day. Then we were taken out on a small boat and snorkeled our way back to the shore. All the snorkeling equipment was provided. We were able to see a wonderful variety of rock formations, coral reefs, fish, stingrays, and turtles! We then proceeded to explore Xtun cavernas, an underground cenote. This required a pretty extensive drive on a dirt road that we would've never been able to get to if traveling by ourselves. Inside the underground cenote, we were the only group, so it was a very private and peaceful environment. The water was clear and beautiful, and swimming through the caverna was amazing. Then, we had empanadas for lunch and watched a slideshow of photos from the half day. The pictures taken throughout the day were very high quality and quite affordable for the quantity ($40 USD for all digital photos for the day). Everything went smoothly and the entire tour was perfectly designed!
