- DayTrip3454652855600Fantastic dive shop, highly recommendedFantastic dive shop, highly recommend Pro Dive. This is my second time with them. I’m an experienced diver, 450+ dives but was a bit rusty as I hadn’t really dived over the last 2 years. All the staff were so helpful, and they planned the dives around my experience. Really enjoyed the 10 dives I did with the guys here, and had so much fun!
- samaT2849TR00Open Water certificationI just complete my open water dive course with Esteban here in Cancun and what an experience! A brilliant instructor who showed me some incredible dives in the area whilst training. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get their certification
- Gus109900Amazing dive centreAbsolutely fantastic dive centre. Perfect communication before arriving to Mexico. Spot on pick up times. In the past I experienced some "skip" of the safety procedures in tropical destinations. Not here. Proper briefing, proper buddy check . Safe, friendly and just amazing. Strongly recommended.
- ed7er00PADI Open Water Dive courseAn absolute amazing time with Esteban, Marlon and the rest of the team. The friendly, calm and reassuring atmosphere was perfect to learn in and gain the skills required for the ocean. They looked after our 12 year old son like he was one of their own. They were kind and patient with him. Diving in the ocean you couldn’t have had a better team to be with. Tommy the photographer is also a massive plus added to the team. Friendly, fun and managed to capture amazing moments for us to take home for us to keep on the start of our diving journey. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!!!
- CarolineL51700ExcellantDo learn to dive at Padi Pro Dive Mexico at Royal Hideaway Hotel, Playa de Carmen. The staff are very professional namely Sol and others there. This is an extremely professional run dive site and I felt very safe letting my 16 year old son learn to dive here. My son was taught to dive by Boris Brinker and I did my refresher Padi with Boris also. My son Alexander really enjoyed the Padi course with Boris. His brother is jealous so we must come back so he can do the Padi course also at Royal Hideaway. After my son passed the Padi course we went diving together in Cozumel. Fabulous clear diving. Large fish and saw stingrays. We really enjoyed our time together and we will be back.
- krisgW5195KR00Immersive diving crusades await! My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of being able to gain a few Padi certified diver certifications while staying at The Royal Hideaway in playacar. First off the boss lady, Sol, is an absolutely outstanding, friendly, personable, knowledgeable, professional who runs a great establishment. Her over 30+ years of diving experience is emulated in her teachings and through her actions throughout the diving excursions. We expierenced an unexpected setback while in the heart of the class to which she had no problems adapting and ensuring my wife's success. My instructor "Coté", Maria-Jose, was superior in her own way. With multiple dives around the globe in multiple countries her knowledge and skills were both shared and taught in helping me understand multiple facets of diving throughout my OW, EANx, and AOW certifications. From dives in the Centoes, to Cozumel and back to Playa del Carmen each one was a unique and extremely fun adventure. Everyone from the dive shop staff, Mr. Santiago or "Santi" with his expertise is all things dive equipment, to the rest of the divemasters and Staff we throughoughly enjoyed and recommend this Padi 5☆ location! We'll definitely dive with them again in the coming year! Cheers
- Mattjj2767100Diving with Pro Dive Playa del CarmenI did 8 dives with prodive from the base in Playacar, they were highly professional and the equipment and boats were great and never overcrowded. Special thanks to Olaatz who looked after me throughout, she is a great asset and excellent diver. Also thanks to Carlos for the two dives in the Chikin Ha cenotes, he was also very professional and it was an amazing experience not to be missed
- SpringfieldScubaSean00Great experienceThe idc at prodive gopro is a intensive and emmersive learning experience. I got to do really interesting work shops including diving a cenote, visiting and exploring a hyperbaric chamber, learning the basics of of regulators and other equipment servicing. The class was informative and really prepared me for the instructors exam. Everyone in my idc group smashed through it with ease and we all passed. This was possible because the course director walter that taught the class is not only very knowledgeable from a life time of diving. He is truly passionate about diving and his students. He was always willing to take extra time when you needed it and they helped me find accommodations as I traveled from the USA for the course. I would highly recommend this class and this instructor.
- aaronj39000BEWARE: Charged Us 2KWe took out a sailboat with a sun-aged sail. Wave+A Wake flipped the boat. We were charged over 2K They never offered us insurance. Blamed us for missing revenue when they should have had backups and their own insurance.
- jackfX667JC00Best activity of my trip!Shannon is such a great employee and salesperson. I walked into the dive shop without much intention of serious diving. Mostly just curiosity about cost and types of dives I might be able to do with the little amount of time I had left in Mexico. Shannon convinced me I had enough time to go all out and get open water certified. I never planned on that but I’m SO happy I went for it! Boris was my instructor and he really made it so much fun. We saw a 6’ pregnant bull shark on our 1st dive! I’m hooked on diving now. Thank you Pro Dive!
- Vincent K00Book your dives elsewhere. Believe me, you will be glad you did. After completing 150 dives around the world, I too scheduled a dive with the Bull Sharks, but was turned down due to weather. I came back the following beautiful day and they had a problem with getting the motor down in the beat up, aged, boat. After 20 minutes or so they were giving up and going to call the dive off. Several divers were upset, like me, then they miraculously were able to get the motor down and head to the dive location. Needless to say, we were late getting there and briefly only saw one Bull shark swim away as we dove to the bottom. Nothing for 30 minutes and we surfaced. Being very disappointed, several of us requested refunds, but they refused and only offered a dive mask or a voucher for our next visit. I had completed a couple dives with this same company a few days prior and it was extremely lame. After the first uninteresting dive (Only saw a baby Nurse shark sleeping and typical pet store small fish). The dive master said he would take us to a better deeper dive spot. We ended up at the same location and completed the same dive....I saw the same sleeping baby Nurse shark and pet store size small fish. My Garmin Descent dive computer verified the same location back yo back on Google Maps. This is the first company I have ever dove with that didnt offer juice and snacks after the dive. Cheap and lame at best!
- JMCross8100Poor Cancellation PolicyI decided to use this Dive Shop as they were part of The Royal Hideaway hotel we were staying at. I wanted to dive with bull sharks and they offered this experience. I was told they I had to do a tester dive before so they were sure I was competent which I thought was good practice. I went ahead and booked my dives, tester dive on the Wednesday & Shark dive on Friday, very excited. I paid for my dives on the morning of my tester dive, job done. The tester dive didn't go well from their side, it wasn't what they sold me, i raised this with them and they made good by giving me an additional tank free of charge to make up for the bad experience. This dive was much better and made up for the poor first dive. Shark dive morning came and I received a message saying the dive had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions, I was very disappointed but understood, when it comes to diving safety first, especially when it come to diving with sharks. I had breakfast and went to talk to the guys at the dive shop to either reschedule but I was leaving Saturday afternoon or to get a refund for the shark dive. I was told the they don’t offer refunds but could issue me with a voucher which I could use on my next stay. I said I live in the UK & we were not planning on coming back to Mexico in the foreseeable future and would like a refund. Again I was told it was their policy not to give refunds even though they cancelled the dive not me. They must have known about this bad weather before they booked the dives in as my weather app was saying it was going to be poor weather on Friday all week. At no point was I told about their cancellation policy, if I had been told about this policy I would not have booked with them especially as they cancelled the dive. I asked for a copy of my receipt showing I had seen and signed this policy and it couldn’t be provided. He said there was nothing he could do they do not do refunds. Eventually they did offer me a snorkeling mask to make up for the lack of refund, as I was getting nowhere with them I accepted the mask and went reluctantly on my way. After talking to other guests at my hotel I was not the only one who had lost money with Pro Dive. I just want people to be aware that if they book with this shop and for some reason plans change you will loose your money.
- 399leep0012 Year Old Becomes A Certified Padi Diver in Playa del CarmenI brought my 12 year old son to Mexico to complete the open water dives required to become a certified padi diver. We stayed at the Occidental Xcaret near Playa del Carmen. Booking my sons dives was made a simple and easy experience by Gil and Anna, who throughout our stay were, gracious, accommodating and extremely knowledgable about the area and dive sites. Their contribution to our holiday was simply fantastic. Our dive instructor Boris was amazing, the care, and commitment he gave to ensuring the knowledge my son had already achieved was built upon, and the diving experiences he undertook were exciting, but also added to his skill set showed the level of expertise Boris had garnered in his diving career. As a very experienced dive master myself I feel well placed to provide professional feedback. I would recommend Boris and indeed Erica as a dive instructor to anyone, but especially those with adventurous young children who are ready to spread their wings.
- U3549UGjoannab00Amazing scuba centerAmazing group of dive instructors! We did our open certification with them. Extremely nice and professional dive center with a great atmosphere. Communication was super easy, they are responding quickly to all the questions. Our instructor Erika went above and beyond to make our experience super fun and unforgettable. Absolutely recommend her and the dive center!
- R6746EVjohnt00"PADI OPEN WATER EXPERIENCE"Wow! What can I say? The week of August 8, 2022, will be a week I'll never forget. Erica was my instructor and showed me the right way to scuba. I thought I was interested in the open water but she created a spark that won't go out! the whole team was great and did a great job creating confidence and building on my abilities. From the Pool to the open waters Erica helped me and the Team reinforced those same principles. If your thinking about Scuba Diving then Ask for Erica and the team, Truly an experience I will never forget.

Not much I can say here. They asked for some information. I have it to them and then they never confirmed my pick up. So I walked to the meeting point in the advert at the time indicated. No show there either. It's been several days and still no one has responded to my messages. I've requested a refund but (surprise, surprise) not a peep from them. Honestly I'd avoid this tour altogether.

We really enjoyed the snorkel trip to Cozumel. Water was crystal clear. The people were very knowledgeable and cared about the environment. My only complaint was that I kept loosing the guide in the water. From underneath they all look the same in black dive suits and blue fins. I ended up with another group in open waters. Suggestion would be to put there name on the bottom of their fins. I also would of rather had lunch after than before.

Excellent snorkeling trip on the beautiful reefs of Cozumel. We saw turtles, sting rays, barracudas, an elegant moray eel, a sleeping shark hiding under the reef, and so much more! Super hospitality from Pro Dive getting us to the ferry at Playa del Carmen and to the dive site. Very safety conscious. Phil and his staff made us comfortable the whole trip. We had so much fun snorkeling and were so impressed with Pro Dive that we decided to get our Scuba Open Water certification during our visit to Mexico. Rather than going back to Cozumel, Phil recommended their location at Catalonia at Maroma. Francesca was our dive instructor. She was exceptional and made us comfortable through the whole experience. We have already booked our return trip to Cozumel to scuba dive the reefs in December. Hope to see some bull sharks.

Everything took a really, really long time. Their boat was super slow. Had to wait for the divers to do everything before snorkelers got to go in water. Honestly, I would dive with these guys but snorkel with a boat that is -only- snorkelers.
Also the vests we wore were cumbersome. They should be optional. I think this snorkel tour is for people who have never been before or maybe not strong swimmers.
Crew was great though. Would be a lot lower score if it weren't for them.

The boat was in good shape and the crew was knowledgeable and fun. Their English was broken but not hard to understand. My husband had a hard time with his facemask because of his mustache and beard. He tried to get in the water at our stops but ended up getting right back on the boat. The crew made the best of his situation and let him start drinking before everyone else. Needles to say, he enjoyed the ride while I snorkeled. It really was something we wanted to do during our vacation and it was worth the $50-$60 per person!!

My family had a wonderful experience on this tour! It was great, we got to experience 3 different areas. Gustavo was a wonderful tour guide and very knowledgeable. We saw beautiful giant sea turtles. Snorkeling in the cenote was awesome experience. Thanks for a great tour!

We booked this trip on the advise of one of the sales agents for pro dive. The team were very helpful and gave good advise on what to take and what to leave behind. We had a small journey from the beach to the dive site. On the way we were introduced by dianna the guide and photographer to the crew. Antonio the captain was great. When we began the team couldn't be more helpful. The setup was a guide upfront and one at the back. We had to stay within. There was so much to see from the start. The guides helped us by identifying fish etc. One of the guides then dove to retreave a star fish for some of us to hold. Then when we had finished dove back down to return the starfish back to the bottom. He also stayed there for some time too fending off the fish until the star fish was concealed. This demonstrated to us the quality of the guides and crew. Next up was a moray eel followed by a sea turtle (a very big sea turtle) and a few sting rays. At all times during our dive we felt safe and did not have any concerns. The five over we returned to the centre to a walm welcome. After reviewing the photos taken by dianna we decide to purchase them for a reasonable price. These were emailed to us within 3 hours of leaving. Great trip. Great team. Great value. Thanks

Chaias was our guide and Antonio was our captain. Both were very nice and welcoming and spoke good english. Chaias was knowledgable and took us on a great tour snorkeling around the coral reefs off of the coast. The price for the tour is very reasonable and definitely worth it. I highly recommend this tour, and to ask for Chaias and Antonio!

Spoke to Cyrus at our holiday hotel about a trip. so glad we did. My daughter and I decided on the shorter trip to snorkel. Never snorkelled in the open sea before. Loved it. Sorry I cannot remember our guides name but he was brilliant. Because of him my daughter saw 4 turtles I saw 3 , loads of stingrays and loads of beautiful fish in and out of the coral. My highlight was the young nurse shark on the sea bed spotted by our guide. Thanks for a great holiday memory.

what type of boat is this and how many people do you allow on the tour?

Our daughter is 19 but not a very good swimmer. Is snorkelling ok to do if you are not a great swimmer? Do you swim with a life jacket on to make the experience safer and easier for the people who are not good swimmers?

Sure! Because you float in snorkelling. My mother isn't a good swimmer too, and she loved it! For safety, they offer life jackets and other equipments. I think your daughter will like it!
