What an amazing journey to check off an item of my bucket list. The Pro Dive team at Occidental Xcaret, Royal-Hideway and Dreams were outstanding and I would highly recommend them any dive training and tour for your family. Big shout out to those individuals that helped me to achieve my OWD certification (if I forgot anyone I apologize) Gilberto, Iago ( the calmest and a fantastic instructor), Carlos, Ausgtine, and can't forget Boris (very energetic and great instructor). Thank you, again for making stressful time into one of the most enjoyable time for me.

I did my OWD and Advanced OWD at the dive center with dive instructor Boris Brinker. I can really recommend this diving center and the dive instructor. I felt at all times very well trained, very well instructed and very safe, although I was a bit scared of diving at the beginning. Boris has a very calm, reassuring manner underwater and has always been super professional, making you feel very safe at all times. In addition, the trainer is German, which was also very helpful for me to get the training in my own language. Everyone at the dive center was also super nice and helpful and I felt welcome from the start. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed, so the training overall was not only very professional, but also a lot of fun. I would do my certifications there again anytime.

Shannon is such a great employee and salesperson. I walked into the dive shop without much intention of serious diving. Mostly just curiosity about cost and types of dives I might be able to do with the little amount of time I had left in Mexico. Shannon convinced me I had enough time to go all out and get open water certified. I never planned on that but I’m SO happy I went for it! Boris was my instructor and he really made it so much fun. We saw a 6’ pregnant bull shark on our 1st dive! I’m hooked on diving now. Thank you Pro Dive!

Wow! What can I say? The week of August 8, 2022, will be a week I'll never forget. Erica was my instructor and showed me the right way to scuba. I thought I was interested in the open water but she created a spark that won't go out! the whole team was great and did a great job creating confidence and building on my abilities. From the Pool to the open waters Erica helped me and the Team reinforced those same principles. If your thinking about Scuba Diving then Ask for Erica and the team, Truly an experience I will never forget.

Truly a pleasure to learn to dive from these folks, the instructors and staff go above and beyond to make sure you learn safely and have fun. The many nearby dive sites are the perfect depth to get certified at because you can only go 18m max deep as an OWD, plus they are beautiful. Also a short boat ride away from beautiful Cozumel sites and cenotes if you have time after certification for an excursion. Everyone kept to COVID safety precautions too. Thank you Danny, Ricardo, Adrian, El Capitan (x2), and the rest of the staff for the great experience. Also they have a great underwater photographer/videographer for hire, ask about Tommy!

The instructions were great. They were patient and knowledgeable. My 14 year old daughter was able to get her open water certification in 3 days. I would have given a 5 star rating, however, the dive boat was not what I am accustom to - no pineapple waiting after the dives, etc.

I had the pleasure of learning to dive with "Florence", a Master-diver stationed at the Catalonia Playa Maroma ~ an amazing all-inclusive facility that is TRULY "all-inclusive" on the Riviera Maya (20 min north of Playa de Carmen & 30 min south of Cancun).
I had no intention of diving in open water in Mexico. I feared the waters (and the critters I might find lurking therein), the equipment (whether or not it was maintained & sanitized), the instruction (whether or not it was up to par and would be enough to save me if I took on water) and my ability (absolute 52 year old Mom & NEWBY).
To my absolute amazement, I have returned to the snow in BC Canada, with the best memory money could have ever bought. The dive I had with Florence will stick in my memory for life.
She thoroughly educated me.... first in a classroom, then in the gorgeous pool of the Catalonia Playa Maroma, then again reassurance in the boat that took us to the reef 10 min off shore and 45 feet down.
After 45 minutes in an underwater world like I've never seen (except on Disney), I surfaced with life-changing memories. I saw a sting-ray, lobsters, schools of blue fish (with brilliant yellow stripes) and an 8' Barraccuda (who circled back for a second look-see). Florence held my hand until I was ready to let go. She swam right beside me, encouraging me all the way.
Truly.... this was the best part of my 2 week Mexico vacation. The $160 Cnd dollars I spent were spent PERFECTLY.
I encourage people to trust Pro-Dive at Catalonia Playa Maroma.... and to spend some time at this terrific resort (my 6th visit and continue to be more & more impressed each time I go).
....Both are life-changing.

I had the absolute pleasure of learning how to scuba dive with the help from pro dive in Catalonia Playa Maroma, mexico. They were amazing from the start! I had an great lesson in the pool and before we went to the ocean. I was very comfortable to go on my first scuba dive. My instructor Maria took her time in explaining everything and made sure I understood everything without rushing me through the lesson. After my first dive I enjoyed it so much I signed up for the scuba open water certification and did an additional 2 dives. The whole team at pro dive was amazing! Thank you Matias, Luis, Murillo, Angel, Eli and a huge thank you to Maria my dive instructor!! Scuba diving is now one of my favourite hobbies and I'm already looking forwards to my next diving adventure!

First off our instructor Lexi was AMAZING, we couldn’t ask for a better instructor. She was hilarious and sooo much fun it just added to our already amazing experience. She takes her time and she’s patient, but most of all she’s very ‘punny’ and just a great person to be around. So basically when you sign up you get a little 30 minute lesson on scuba diving and the physics of it all. You also go over a heath questionnaire to make sure you’re good to dive without any complications, then it gets really fun. You take a practice dive in the pool to learn all the hand signals and techniques before you go out in open water 12 meters down to the BEAUTIFUL Caribbean reef. Our photographer David took some of the most amazing photos and a 15 minute video so we can always remember our first dive in HD. An experience like this can’t be put into words but I’m glad me and my friend dived with this company for our first dive bc they went above and beyond our expectations, now we can’t wait to go back under!! 😂😂❤️

I signed up for my Open Water qualification at the Xcaret Occidental hotel's Pro Dive location. Manuel and the team there were really helpful in helping me work out what I wanted to do. I was assigned to Dexter, a fantastic pro diver and Padi qualified teacher. I was lucky enough to do my entire Open Water one-on-one with Dexter and completed it (with some homework to get through the written element) in 2 busy days. It was perfect for me as I was in the area for a limited amount of time. The dives were brilliant, equipment was excellent and the focus of the teaching is outstanding. I also took a Cenotes dive (at Chikin Ha) with Pro Dive once I'd got my Open Water qualification. It was stunning and I'd definitely encourage other divers to try it. Overall, I'd highly recommend choosing these guys, whether you want to try out scuba or do something a little more challenging. Hope to come back in the future to dive with them.
