        Great company!
What a great company! Absolutely smooth journey and easy to talk to team! They did a fantastic job on a small request I made for my wife’s birthday. Thank you all for making our trip to Mexico magical! And thank you to the driver that was so lovely picking us up and dropping us.

        Incredible!
This was an incredible experience! Highly recommend it! Hugo was our guide, he did a fantastic job! The only negative was that there were no cameras allowed in the caves. They have a photographer go with you, and they took lots of great photos, but they charge an arm and a leg for them.

        great experience
miguel, our guide was very friendly, funny and provided us with all the information about rio secreto, the animals and the whole ecosystem. the entrance fee is a bit pricy ( you'll be in the caves for about 90 minutes) and the wetsuits are a bit smelly, but it was still a great experience. muchas gracias.

        Excellent spelunking adventure!
This tour was well organized from beginning to end. The guide was informative and helpful. The small size of the group was a plus. Groups are organized by language preference, which allows for maximum participation. Cell phones are not permitted, so having the photographer accompany the group allowed for some great photos, which we were delighted to purchase at the end of the tour.

        Gross wetsuits but amazing experience!
There was a lot of waiting to start. My 11am booking meant I would be picked up at 9:40am which was confusing. It’s a well oiled machine otherwise and totally worth the absurd price. I recommend the wetsuit, shoes and walking stick. They are pretty gross and smell terrible but worth it! My group was 12 people which felt too big. What an amazing experience though wow!

        Totally wonderful and mindblowing!
This is an absolutely incredible natural (maybe even spiritual) experience, unlike anything we'd ever done before. Not only was the underworld beautiful and refreshing, our guide, Tainara, was generous and knowledgable treated our 6 year old like he was her own nephew, making sure he was comfortable at every turn. I almost forgot to even mention Tulum, which was also an amazing vision into the past! Last but not least, the meal at the end of it all doesn't look like much, but it's LEGIT delicious. GO ON THIS TRIP AND REQUEST TAINARA!

        They didn't show up.
I waited for the tour bus in a supermarket parking lot for over an hour. I was the only one there. After about 10 minutes of waiting i started texting them and they kept saying the bus would be there soon but they wouldn't give me a time. After an hour in the hot sun in a supermarket parking lot I told them I was leaving and I left. A half hour later i got a message from them that they had arrived at the supermarket. They told me they would not return my payment. I do not recommend this company.

        Spiritual educational adventure
read reviews before booking this experience. Took short taxi ride from Airbnb. Friendly and professional staff and guides. Our guide, Mitch was very knowledgeable and had a passion for life. Safety was number one priority in our small group of 9. I didn’t know quite what to expect, but it was well worth the cost and time put into this sacred and spiritual place. Highly recommend.. The buffet lunch afterwards was plentiful and tasty. A professional photographer was with us the whole 2 1/2 hours, but we chose not to purchase the photos. There was no pressure to do so either way.

Unforgetful underground adventure ("Supremo") - ask for Diego
We loved the time we spent at Rio Secreto Nature Reserve. Our rating is 4.5 of 5. We chose the standard tour, no upgrade, for about USD$81/pp without hotel transport (but our resort secured a discount)! Our resort contact said this tour was special. The reviews said the tour was special. We were not disappointed. The fee included everything (except hotel pickup & dropoff, no photos) although you can pay more to get the transport included. Included in the tour were the guide (Diego!), wetsuit, water shoes, life vest, walking stick, hard hat with light, fresh towel, use of locker, locker key, and a buffet lunch. Diego was our amazing guide on the "Supremo" route. At every stage, he clearly and carefully advised us of what to do and what not to do. Our hike underground was unforgettable and stunningly scenic. We loved wading and then swimming in the underground river. I knew we couldn't take our phones or our own photos so I was prepared to pay for a professional one. Cost was USD$30 for 1 photo or USD$120 for all photos of your own group. If you are a large group, it would be worthwhile to get the package. We paid for 1 photo - it was enough for us. (I didn't see this until after we left, but I read that a book with the history & beautiful photos could be purchased from the gift shop for ~USD$15!) I could easily skip the included lunch although I'm sure some customers liked it since the overall trip was 3.5 hours. I would personally skip the lunch but opt to get a "free" photo. This day trip is worth it & you don't need to invest the whole day to have an unforgettable and unique adventure.

        Best Experience from our trip!
This was a perfect way to spend the day in Mexico! Everyone was so friendly and made sure that we had the best time. Willy was our main guide, and he was great! We had never been zip lining before and were a little nervous, but the nerves went away instantly! The views were stunning, the cenote was so fun to relax in for a while and the company was great! One piece of advice is to wear clothes you don’t mind being wet in for the rest of the day or pack a change of clothes :)

I had forgotten why I don't love group tours
This trip reminded me, quite frankly, what I don't love about group tours. Unfortunately, the trip was much longer than we had expected which may have been my fault. The start time was 7am end time was about 930pm. Once the usual multi-stop pick up with several different buses ended, we were on our way ( about 3 hours in to the day). The ruins themselves were lovely as were the cenote and lunch- beware lunch does not include water or soft drinks ( 50 pesos each I think)! Lifejackets were also an additional cost and mandatory (also 50 pesos). The problem with both ruins was that there was so little time, even an additional 30 mins would have made the trip much more relaxed. We found ourselves running at Tulum, and we were advised to rent bikes at Coba ( 50 pesos) because we only had just under an hour to do the 4 km total and have time to take photos and really get a feel for the ruins. Never mind the fact that washroom breaks were lined up and additional time not included in the visit to Coba. Our last bit of the trip included a stop at a market in Playa del Carmen again nice but only 45 mins. I would have liked to see less stops on this trip and perhaps a better itinerary showing time on the bus vs time sightseeing. Had I realized I may have booked a shorter trip seeing less ruins but also feeling less rushed. I also would have considered just renting a car or taxi. It is significant that we are a family of 5.

Good zipline - some delays and no Macaw birds this year
Staff and pickup was good. Overall staff are friendly and efficient. 2nd experience with this zipline excursion as some of the group went last year. Overall good experience. Rated a 4 as when we got there after line - they were out of gloves, and also out of harnesses — which then delayed everyone prob 30-40 minutes. This was a morning visit as well so a little odd. The other difference and not sure why — but they usually had some beautiful Macaw birds that you took pictures with during the initial welcome. My daughter, who didn’t go last year but saw our pictures, was a little disappointed that the birds weren’t there this year. Overall - you will enjoy.

Chichen Itza and Vallodolid are worth seeing. Not sure this package is the best way as crowd control is a major problem. Also, despite what my booking said, water was NOT provided at Chichen Itza. Bring lots of water as it is only available at the main entrance and it gets hot. There isn't enough time to really enjoy the sites. Also, breakfast was NOT free. A fee of 5 pesos was required to get a plate at the breakfast.

The cenote was interesting but if you go don't bother with taking swimming gear. Changing is a hassel and you can just wade in as the water isn't deep.

There were problems arranging travel back to the several hotels for all of the tourists, we didn't make it back to our hotel until 10:30pm.

I am not so sure what is the business model here because apparently they have partnerships with other agencies but definitely RUN from these guys if you’re looking for a stress free day. I started having issues with them 7:00am.

I came to the hotel they asked me to wait at and nobody showed up. So I called the number that is on the ticket and the guy is was extremely rude and careless about the issue. I told him I’ve been waiting and he said “the driver was waiting too, so he already left” with a tone of somebody who didn’t believe me at all. Luckily I have a picture proving that I was waiting and it shows the time so I can at least prove a point, if that’s of any help. There was a van outside and nobody called my name and the name on the van was different than the name provided in the ticket which is ALSO different than the agency I originally booked with. I would not be able to know if this was my guy or not and all the arrangements were a mess. Not a single contact was made, not a call, not a message, nothing.

I’ve been told by the careless guy on the phone that I needed to go meet the driver somewhere so I paid 22usd more for a service that wasn’t provided and was supposed to be included. I did what I have to do to not miss the day I planned for myself but the sh*tshow kept happening. I arrived at the location to checkin and get a bracelet and there are some third party also careless and also rude people taking care of the procedures. I was told the driver would be waiting but I kept going in and out the mall zone looking for info until someone decided to help (the only dude who wasn’t rude and careless the whole morning, bless him). They charge extra 20usd for state fee and the conversion rate if you pay in pesos is a scam, which is a low move considering you are in Mexico and this is their national currency. So on top of all the issues, you still have to give them money if you want to proceed and try to have a good day out after all of that.

Awful customer service, awful people and service providers. I hope the places are fun so the money at least pays for something.

I’ve been all around Mexico and Central America and there are kind and sweet people that are happy to have you here. This agency is just not one of them. AVOID and look for one of the many other options around the area. This is just not worth the stress, other competitors can for sure do it better.

This tour was horrible. They throw you on a smelly charter bus with 50 people and then drive for 4 hours to a restaurant. They then attempt to coerce you into buying “locally made” items (very clearly made in China) and feed you sub par food. Also, drinks are not included with lunch, don’t let the servers trick you. A bottle of water will run you $3 USD. Once you finally make it to Chitchen Itza (Around 2pm for us) you spend about an hour quickly learning about it all. JUST AN HOUR! Meanwhile you spend nearly 2 at the restaurant. Then, once you leave Chitchen Itza you proceed to a cenote. That was the worst part, no organization, hundreds of people, and more HIDDEN FEES!

Stay far, far away from this trip. A private trip is well worth the cost!! You could save yourself 6+ hours and many, many headaches!!

In mid Jan 2019 our gang of four adults took the Express Tour with Cancun Adventures from Playa Del Carmen to Chichen Itza and back. The 12 passenger van picked us up at about 7AM from our resort and we were dropped back off at a little after 3PM. Driver Lisandro and guide Mary were excellent. I am a history buff and so I was drinking in all the information about Mayan culture, their beliefs, their way of life. My wife enjoyed wandering the grounds on a beautiful January day. We did the trip on a Wed in the middle of our week at the beach resort. It was kind of a nice break from sitting around all day. What the Mayans were able to accomplish with primitive tools and methods is impressive. Only about 15% of the Chichen Itza civilization has been exposed and the other 85% remains beneath the jungle overgrowth. The van takes a toll road route to the ruins which is the fastest way. Guide Mary helped fill the drive time with interesting information about both the Mayan culture and was also willing to engage our questions about modern day life in Playa Del Carmen. There are other options where you can see the ruins as well as a visit a Cenote, a zip line, get lunch, etc. Those options would be fine, but sometimes I feel that I get weary of being "handled" on some of those all day trips. It can feel like you are a bit trapped after 8 to 10 hours being led around. This time I just wanted to see the ruins and get back to our all inclusive resort. I'm glad that we booked with Cancun Adventures and would use them again. The only drawback to visiting Chichen Itza these days are the hundreds of "venders" that are pushing souvenirs inside the grounds of the ruins. I understand that these locals don't have much and they depend on the small income that they get from selling trinkets to tourists, but it kinda ruins the experience. Sometimes you find yourself worried more about rushing past a section of vendors or avoiding eye contact, rather than focusing on enjoying the surroundings that you came to see. Most vendors are respectful and they aren't overly pushy, but they are almost everywhere. Next time I would probably try to book with Cancun Adventures rather than through the resort like we did. Could probably save a few bucks, but I don't know for sure.
