About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- phoebebirch0 contributionsA highlight of our tripWe had an amazing day with our guide, Felipe, and driver, Diego. Felipe genuinely loves Uxmal and his enthusiasm is contagious. He made the site come alive with stories and details that deepened our understanding. We appreciated how he shared how his own combination of Mayan and Spanish heritage has shaped his understanding of Yucatecan history. This tour was a highlight of our trip.Written March 25, 2024
- C5054EWtracyk0 contributionsAmazing and InformativeJuan (guide) and Manuel (driver) were excellent during our private tour. The information provided by Juan was very informative and interesting as we learned about the area as well as the culture. Would highly recommend.Written April 2, 2023
- lindseysaltz0 contributionsUxmal Day TripJorge was an excellent guide and so knowledgable of the Mayan culture. I highly recommend the private tour to Uxmal; Jorge went at our pace and answered all of our questions. Jorge, the driver, also made the ride so comfortable for us. 10/10!Written March 30, 2023
- KemiTravels0 contributionsBook this trip!My husband and I had a really great time! Juan took us for a walk around Izamal and told us a lot about the history then after that, we went on an ATV tour with Carlos - which was SOOO much fun! We even climbed one of the pyramids in town. At the end, we were taken to a restaurant with great Yucatecan cuisine. If you're going to do a day trip to Izamal I would highly recommend doing this excursion!Written August 16, 2022
- earlesstreet0 contributionsUxmal and chocolatePepe our guide and Abraham our driver were fabulous. We could not have asked for better people to take us to Uxmal Uxmal was magical. We were almost the first to arrive and it was so peaceful. Pepe had incredible knowledge of the site and actually everything. My husband and he talked up a storm. We wish Abraham the best in learning English. He said it helped listening to us speak. The chocolate museum was fun and to find out where one of the most craved sweet in the world originated was fascinating. Chocolate will never be the same for me!!! Lunch at a family owned restaurant was absolutely delicious All in all this was the best tour we took and I would highly recommend it.Written December 29, 2021
- MaureenBlackstock0 contributionsMust experience this incredible Hacienda tour!A exceptional tour offering an abundance of history for the area and demonstration of a henequen hacienda as it was, as well as the unique experience of one of best of the thousands of underground cenotes of the Yucatan. The guides are cordial and very knowledgeable. The mules that lead the carts guiding you through the plantation are well cared for. This tour is definitely a must for any visit to the Yucatan!Written January 19, 2020
- C C0 contributionsIf you are short on travel days...this tour could be skippedWe were a group of 6 adults. We read that there would be ‘alot’ of flamingos...as you can see from the photo there were maybe 25 in this group. So the flamingo part was a bust...we then went through the mangroves. We actually saw a crocodile (it is circled in the one photo). We hired two Ubers to take us to Celestun and then paid 1800 pesos for the boat. The driver was good, but did not speak english. We then went to the beach and had lunch. The beach has lots of shells and nice white sand. Overall...I would give the day a 4 out of 10...if you are short on days, skip this tour...Written January 1, 2020
- GVite0 contributionsAmazing! What a great service! I could say everything was perfect! Hundred percent recommended! Punctuality, very well inform about the places, routes, restaurants and historical facts. We received a very profesional, respectful and great service experience from them, thanks Vicente and “mimoso” for espectacular two days with you, and of course thanks Jorge for being such a great amigo!Written September 1, 2019

- 739mteresaz0 contributionsThe yellow color all over the town, that was painted for the visit of Pope Juan Pablo llThe town is very nice, the church is beautiful, with the Virgin of the Inmaculate Conception, after we visited the church we took a ride in a carriage to see the pyramids, and the rest of the town, We had lunch at the restaurant KINICH, great Typical food from Yucatan, we stayed at the Hacienda Temozon, a 5 star hotel, wonderfulWritten June 4, 2019
- piachristo0 contributionsPunctual and professional staffWe used AmigoYucatan for transportation to and from the airport and also booked the Zona Arqueológica de Dzibilchaltún and Port of Progresso. The museum at Dzibilchaltún is fantastic. It walks you through pre-colonial times, the conquest and colonial times. Incredible exhibit. The temple is nice to see because it is in original condition (not re-constructed). The cenote is a nice place to cool off but not the best I've seen. We did this tour mostly for the beach visit. We ate at a restaurant on the boardwalk and then spent a few hours on the beach before heading back to Merida. The driver and tour guide were wonderful. I highly recommend using AmigoYucatan for tours as you get a dedicated tour guide. Administrative staff is very responsive as I booked everything over email. (Disclaimer: I am fluent in Spanish and communicated purely in Spanish over email with AmigoYucatan. Tour guide was bilingual which was great for others in my party who did not speak Spanish).Written February 23, 2019
- sailboatravler0 contributionsGreat day of history and swimming undergroundWe loved it and our two grandsons enjoyed it even more. Some walking and stairs on the tour (to reach underground cenotes) plus the guide took us to a surprise stop at an out-of-the-way Mayan ruin as we were returning to Merida. Climbing up the three story ruins is an option for those able and interested. We are returning in January with a teen granddaughter and then joined by our daughter for another week. This was my fourth visit to Merida in 20 years but my first time to swim in cenotes.Written November 13, 2018
- Ian O0 contributionsPart of Trafalgar group tour of YucatanInteresting look at the old hacienda set up as a living museum. Demonstrations of rope making and the best group lunch of the tour. Attentive staff and local guide. After the meal we were taken by mule cart to a cynote in the grounds where it was possible to swim. The mule cart ride was fun and the animals looked very well cared for.Written March 25, 2018
- Bunky460 contributionsVery ProfessionalWe used this firm for our transportation to and from the airport, and for a tour of Chichen-Itza. We were met at the airport by Silvia, who took us to our hotel. She was bilingual and very helpful with directions and suggestions. We were taken to Chichen-Itza in a nice Mercedes van and taken on an all-day tour by Henry, our affable guide. They provided a nice lunch at a very beautiful hotel, and then took us back to our hotel. Our flight out required us to be picked up at 4:30 a.m., but the driver was exactly on time. We had no complaints about the services. They were always punctual and knowledgeable. We would use them again anytime.Written December 5, 2013
