We really enjoyed tasting local street food, and our guide was excellent! Pamela was very knowledgeable and answered our questions throughout the tour. It was clear that she had a great working relationship with all of the vendors! I would highly recommend this tour as a way to experience the local cuisine of the city. Pame also shared recommendations for other venues to try during the rest of our stay - we will be checking those out!

Iveth and Kevin did a fantastic job guiding us around Merida Centro and through the main market for a daytime feast of culinary delights. Iveth expertly explained each delicious dish that we tasted and Kevin made sure to look out for traffic when crossing streets and rounding us up when we were lagging behind. LOL! They were both very knowledgeable and patient. We highly recommend this fantastic taste of Merida for anyone visiting the city, especially to get an overview and lay of the land on one’s first day in town.

We had a wonderful walking street food tour with Iveth Campos. She took us into the labyrinth of the Merida Market food vendors and stalls and arranged for us us to taste a variety of yummy popular local dishes. She then led us to a plate of excellent ceviche and finished us off with a scoop of gelato, all while explaining the history of where we were and what we were seeing. A nice experience overall.

It was a great experience! The group size was around 10 people, not too big. We went to the market in merida and tried local fruits that i had never seen in europe before. Then we tried a lot of local dishes from yucatan, they were delicious and our tour guide Marisol explained how the dishes were cooked and what is inside. My boyfriend is allergic to egg an Marisol made sure he always got an egg-free version of the dish. And my friend who went also on the tour is vegetarian and Marisol made sure there was a vegetarian option of every dish. We liked the experience a lot and would definately recommend it!

This food walking tour was our introduction to Merida city centre and was a great way to see and get a feel of the city! We tried excellent foods at market stalls and ceviche at a seafood restaurant, and was shown the ingredients/spices at the market too. It was all delicious and our guide Pamela was great, thank you!

The food tour is worth it. A very good and pleasant guide Pamela, which easily kept us busy for a few hours. Speaks fluent English. We had visited the covered market. the guide let us taste many Mexican specialties. After the visit we went to an authentic Mexican restaurant, where you only encountered locals. This was a bull's eye.
Afterwards we ended the day with a nice ice cream.
Highly recommended for young and old!

We went on the last Monday in January thinking that there might not be as many people booked for the tour and we were right. It was just the three of us along with our guide Pamela. Pamela did a good job of pointing out sites on the way to the market, explaining where we were going and what we would experience. The vendors she took us to were friendly and their food was delicious. She also emailed us recommendations for other places to visit the following day. We spent about 3 hours wandering, tasting, and enjoying the time we spent. If you are going to be here in Merida for a while, I would suggest going at the beginning our your stay, which is what we did, so that you'll familiarize yourself with a market that you can find just about anything you would need.

We purposely signed up for this food tour on our first day in Mérida so that we could get both a lay of the land but even more importantly, an introduction to the traditional foods of the Yucatán. Pamela expertly guided us through the Centro and into the maze of the Mercado Lucas de Galves for many delicious bites that left us very full and completely satisfied. We especially appreciated getting a drink with our first taste that we were able to carry around to enjoy with our others, and the progression of tastes through the tour. We highly recommend this tour!

Alejandro was an outstanding guide taking us to the open Santiago market to review the local produce we will be eating at the nearby food stands. So when you eat the food you really get the taste and get an understanding of the local cuisine. Highly recommended! P.S. Don't eat breakfast and come hungry.

Our food tour of the central market with Iveth Campos was worth every minute. There was just the two of us on the tour so we got extra special attention.
It was the day before Christmas Eve and the marker was packed. The displays of fresh vegetables was fantastic and the colours amazing. Our food tasting was great. Watching local people going about their pre Christmas food shopping was very special
All in all a great three hours that we would highly recommend
Oh and the last stop for ice cream was delicious

food is definitely included - and it was wonderful! i don't know about group size tho, sorry!
Is there a vegetarian option?

I’m sure they could work with you on this. At each vendor, the guide does all the ordering. If you let them know your dietary restrictions they can work around that accordingly. The one vendor it would not work at is the pork vendor, but I believe every other option has a vegetarian option, although I would inquire about tortillas or other corn products to see if they were cooked in lard. Vegan would be much harder.
