Fantastic small group trip! I'm so glad that we booked with Cozumel Snorkel Center. Our trip leader was attentive enough in the water to ensure safety but we never felt rushed or crowded. They did a great job avoiding the larger boats and groups and we saw an incredible array of fish, star fish and even a sea turtle that we followed for a long time. The food at the sand bar was a nice way to relax.
We were helped at the end to get a taxi back to our ship. Each way was roughly $10 but would have been cheap in pesos ~120

Hands down the best snorkel tour we have ever taken! I can’t say enough good things about this tour… EVERYTHING was perfect!
Our captain Juan and guide Alex were extremely well trained and knew exactly where to take us. They were patient and helped everyone prepare to snorkel, and we quickly found multiple turtles, tons of stingrays, a family of lobsters, barracudas, beautiful starfish, a huge puffer fish, and beautiful fish of all kinds. Alex led us very well, and we never encountered rough water or felt unsafe at any point. I should also mention they took the most incredible photos!
They stopped in an area with pristine water and made us fresh ceviche! Stingrays were swimming through the water and it was absolute paradise! We had a family group of ten, including our parents in their 80’s and four kids and everyone said it was the best day of our entire trip. We all want to go back and take this same tour again! Highly recommend for all ages and levels of snorkelers!
Tip: We rented the entire boat versus paying per person so we could have the whole boat for just our family. Worked out great!

We booked this trip via "Get your Guide" .
First of all perfekt and mostly accommodating was that the staff of Cozumel snorkel Center found the perfekt Pick Up for us.
The Crew around Captain Willi was very nice and friendly. The snorkel points where kind of crowded but this didnt reduce enjoyment at all. Wilhard kept an eye on his "family"!
We saw lots of fish, turtles, starfish and even stingrays at our stop over at el cielito.
Thanks again for this special experience!

Basically the tour was not bad at all, they pick you up on time, you pay the fees and take you to a speedboat in charge of two individuals, one drives and the other guides the tour.
You visit the places they offer, and of course you don’t see all the animals because I didn’t see a turtle, understandably they are animals in freedom.
They offer you an appetizer, force you to stay away from the boat and don’t let you get on anything with the excuse of wetting the food.
So long, then, when you return to the boat, check your belongings because if you miss something later, you will be in question. It happened to me, and the company when you let them know, of course they tell you that they are assumptions and that if I have evidence to show them, and that the accusation is absurd. I have no interest in putting anything wrong with any company, I just tell my experience, of course they will say otherwise, and whoever reads to me has to know that I have no interest in talking bad about anyone, just tell them to be careful with their things. I will never tour with those people again

I did a private tour, just me and my daughter (age 14), and it was AMAZING!!!!!! From top to bottom, beginning to end, the tour, the staff, the food was great. Alex is a great captain and Chema takes the most beautiful underwater pictures (bring cash for pictures; believe me, they are worth it).
I would recommend this tour for friends, families, couples and kids of any swim level (life vests available) and I would definitely do it again.
Thanks!

Fantastic tour with Enrique and Abraham on the Dos Hermanos. Almost everyone on our tour met at the downtown meeting point, tour left right on time (we did one more pickup on the way). We had a nice small group as advertised! Our first stop was the reef where Enrique really did a good job making sure everyone saw lots of different fish and rays and we got great pictures with a sea turtle. The next stops were shorter, we did see some fairly large star fish and we enjoyed cervesas while rays swam all around us. Highly recommend this tour! Guides really seemed intent on ensuring everyone had a good time!

Our daughter gifted this trip to our family on what may be our last family vacation all together, as the kids are now adults. It proved to be a great memory-making experience. I think she feels she got great value and certainly we all enjoyed it. I can't compare it to other companies. We were fortunate that conditions allowed for us to make it out, and the company worked hard to coordinate the multiple parties joining the tour after its first boat of the day was delayed. Some members of our family did see a couple turtles. I saw starfish, a beautiful school of bright gold fish and a school of silver fish, a large grouper, and many, many sting rays. Swimming close to the rays and watching the amazing way they move in such clear water was the highlight for me. We enjoyed the personalities of the guides, Jaime ("Jama?") and Sergio. Sergio very kindly helped me through my initial panic (snorkeling can be difficult for people who strongly prefer breathing through the nose). As you read the reviews, remember the relatively low cost of this trip, the vagaries of the physical world (especially the ocean and the weather!), and the impossibility of predicting where wild animals will be at any given time. "You pays your money and you takes your chances"--it's just life and the real world. Don't go into this expecting guarantees, other than the beauty of Mexican natural resources.

We did the snorkeling tour with Fernando and Chema. The sites are beautiful and Fernando accompanied us at all times in the water and took incredible photos for all of us who wanted to (bring money as the cost is not included, and it is worth it). In addition to the promised turtles, fish and starfish, we saw many manta rays. Chema, in addition to driving the boat, showed off as a chef, with a spectacular ceviche and guacamole!
As if this were not enough, we had an enthusiastic and communicative group, so it was quite an enjoyment.
I also highlight that we did the tour the day after the chosen date because the sea conditions were not good and the Cozumel Snorkel Center contacted us to change it, and it was a success, in addition to the fact that they handle small groups.

We booked this snorkel trip within 24hrs from a resort south of their pier. They picked us up promptly (we paid the docking fee before they arrived, $3.50 per person) and we sped off on their small speedy boat. A beautiful and fast ride on the blue waters off Cozumel.
The excursion is friendly to those unfamiliar with snorkeling and they provide snorkel gear and floatation equipment for those who are less skilled simmers.
They speed you to four sites to view shallow water critters including an area with schools of fish, an area with starfish on the sandy bed, an area with seagrass and turtles, and finally a shallow shoal you can stand in where many boats anchor and people get off into the water to drink, listen to music, and enjoy rays swimming around (don't worry, they won't sting, they try to avoid people).
The hosts are friendly and provide a great time. While at he last site, they provide a floating tray of refreshments, ceviche, chips, and fresh fruit. Yum!
We'd been diving for 3 days, so this was a nice relaxing trip at the water surface. Seeing more turtles and different fish would have been nice, but if you got a good camera and can dive with your snorkel, you can get close and enjoy those that happen to be where you visit. Hanging out at the end to relax was the best part, so go with friends! What a great atmosphere!

We booked this a couple of weeks in advance as there were some key points we needed to be sure of (very family friendly with small number of people).
Alex was very responsive and put a couple of things in place to support our needs which was much appreciated.
On the day we arrived at the meeting point (ferry pier) only to be bundled into a taxi with no explanation. Nobody on the tour has a clue what was happening and we had no tour guide. We arrived at a marina 20 mins later where the taxi unceremoniously dumped us at the entrance. Nobody was there to meet us. All the people we asked didn’t have a clue where we should be either. We eventually found the tour guide 10 mins later.
The tour itself was ok. We saw a few fish, one turtle, starfish and a stingray went past at one point. The turtle sanctuary wasn’t a sanctuary as you’d recognise it, just part of the sea!
The last stop was a “shallow” area for paddling, drinks and food, it was very very busy, so busy that we couldn’t get near any shallow area without going along way from the boat but we’d beer told to stay near. The only thing you could spot here was melon skin, pineapple and beer cans floating in the water.
An issue I had was the drinks, Alex had said multiple times you get 6 drinks per person. On the boat the guide said 2 drinks! It was a struggle to get the second drink out of him as well but he handed over cold beers to the tour manger on the dock side before we left at the start of the boat trip!
Also the equipment certainly wasn’t up to scratch, I was missing a fin, my husbands mask leaked and there were no spares!

Thank you for choosing Cozumel Snorkel center,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and the marine life. With respect to the points you mentioned, we would like to comment the following:
1. When you board the cab, the group is always told where they are going. When they arrived at Caleta, the cab driver made the confusion and left them in the opposite direction, since there is always someone from our team to welcome them and accompany them to the boat. We regret this inconvenience as it was out of our hands.
2. The last stop of the tour is the cielito, it is a sand bank, and it is a very visited place in Cozumel. (that's why so many people as you mention). For safety reasons, you are instructed to stay close to the boat, because as you could see in the area, there are many boats.
3. The snorkel equipment at the beginning of the tour is given to you complete and it is the responsibility of each passenger to take care of it.
We hope to see you soon.
Greetings from Cozumel Snorkel Center team.

I agree it is confusing. I recall there was a drop down menu to select from when booking. We were staying at a small boutique hotel so we just took a cab. If you take a cab be sure to tell them to drop you off on the left side of the Marina Caleta. Also bring some small coins in pesos to use the restrooms on the right side of Marina Caleta!

I see under additional information that this is not recommended for pregnant people. What about this makes it "unsafe" for pregnancy? My doctor has cleared me for snorkeling as I am still early in my pregnancy.
Written October 22, 2023
The boat is pretty high speed and bounces as you go. You have to jump off into the water (maybe they'll let you climb down the ladder if you ask, being pregnant), but then you also have to hold onto a rope line on the side of the boat when you return and then climb back up the ladder into the boat (3-4 steps). Not very difficult, but maybe it might be a bit rough on those further in pregnancy? That's the only thing I can think of.

If we take the 2 o’clock tour could we make it back to the ship by 6 pm?
Written February 26, 2023
Hello!
My Girlfriend is fresh operated, and she is not allowed to go in the Water. Is it still possible that she can join the Trip on the Boat?
Greets, DS
Written December 27, 2022
I can’t imagine that would be a problem. One guide stays in the boat the whole time. And the water is so clear I’d think she could still see a decent amount of fish from the boat. Plus there’s ceviche, guacamole, soda, and beer to enjoy.

One review said that you don’t provide fins for the snorkel tour. Is this review true? Or do you provide the fins as part of the equipment?

Hello- We are interested in this Tour, however our ship arrives at 10:30 am and leaves at 7pm. I see your tour times are 10 and 2pm. We want to make sure we would be back to the ship in time if we chose the 2pm ?
Thank you for your time

How far is the meeting point from the cruise terminal?
Written December 3, 2022
Depends on which cruise terminal your cruise line docks at. We docked at Punta Langosta and it was a short 10 - 15 minute walk. You meet at the ferry pier and it is maybe a half mile from our Lagosta pier.
