This was our first visit to SkyReef and we couldn’t be more satisfied. It is difficult to find a place on Cozumel to go which doesn’t charge a lot for an all inclusive package that we don’t need (we have our own snorkel equipment and we don’t drink much alcohol). And we do not want to be in a place with lots of drinking. SkyReef doesn’t charge anything for entry or snorkeling, but relies on income from the restaurant and bar. We got there on Sunday by 11am, found a lounge chair with an umbrella and we’re there until 5pm. The snorkeling was pretty good (better in the morning as it was clearer and more fish to see). We saw at couple of sting rays and a school of cuttlefish, which I had never seen before. We ordered lunch from our lounge chairs and the fish ceviche was amazing, and the nachos with pastor (pork I think) was good. All in all we couldn’t ask for more. We will be back.

Surprisingly good experience. Reef although near the shore, is diverse with fish, and rays. Tequila tasting was quite fun, with aged liquor up to 17 years.
Tip(s):
(1) if you are just looking for beach access (and snorkelling equipment), the tequila tasting, 5min massage, and 1 free drink, then buy your ticket there, it’s 20USD vs 25USD if you book online.
(2) if you are looking for transportation, you can get a taxi for ~30USD return (15 USD each way). Wasn’t sure if there is any other way to access this other than rented vehicles.
(3) If you’re looking for the best atmosphere; go earl around 10, as things clear up around 3. If you’re looking to relax, try and time your visit, as the busiest time when I was there was 1PM (busy at the bar), so maybe use that for snorkelling?
Would definitely recommend if you’re trying to see the Cozumel reefs on a budget.

We took a cab from Cozumel Palace and had heard good things. The cab driver said there was a 20 dollar cover.
The cover included snorkel gear, a tequila tasting, 5 minute massage, and a drink.
My son is 15, we had our snorkel gear, I don't like tequila, and I didn't need a massage!
I asked if we could just pay as we go. It all felt kinda scammy to pay 40 bucks to enter a bar.
In a very rushed negotiation in broken Spanish and English, they offered 1 20 dollar package with 3 drinks. I felt aprehensive at first, as it just kind of seemed like a tourist trap.
It worked out in the end, the place was nice, and they were very friendly.
The snorkeling seemed bad at first as there is a big barren section that a the cruise touristas stand around looking at nothing. I soon realized that all the cool stuff was in about 2 feet of water right at the bar area. It was actually very good with healthy coral, sea fans, and lots of life.
Once i relaxed, it turned out just fine. I would recommend .

My husband and I stopped here looking for a place to have some lunch while staying on the island for a well deserved kid free vacation. The views were stunning. The service was amazing. The food was delicious! However, our favorite part was the snorkeling. The reefs are incredible, there are so many beautiful fish and water is crystal clear. We were never rushed to leave, we would snorkel for a while, go back to our table to take a break and order a dessert or something to give us more energy. The pork nachos and the Buffalo wings are delicious. We went to the Sky Reef two days in a row because we couldn’t get enough. It’s away from all the busyness of the tourists in town. We went during the week and it was so relaxing and calm. I would give this a solid 10.

Unfortunately the day we were in Port it was very windy. The water was very rough so we couldn't snorkel. However we made the best of it with fajitas, and guac. I got a beach side massage and we sampled tequila. We even bought a bottle it was so delicious. This was my second time there and would go back again!

Food is always amazing, the staff is really friendly, Fernando has help us couple of times already and that guy goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated.
If you want a fun Caribbean day don't hesitate to come here, it is worth it!!! Snorkel is awesome as well, they have equipment for rent... what can I say my husband and I we love it here!!!!

I can’t recommend this place enough!!! We went here while on a cruise to get a break from the crowd of people on the ship. Best decision we made!! Quiet, peaceful, beautiful!! Drinks were good and fast so was food. Snorkeling was wonderful here!! If you want a break from “the party” Go Here!!!!!

I loved snorkeling and our day at Sky Reef. For $20 it was well worth it! The snorkeling was good, loved that it included a chair and rentals all day, great included margarita, the tequila tasting was WONDERFUL, and we had a blast. The service was wonderful and they even had a Marachi band which was super fun! We also ordered lunch which was great as well! Very authentic! I am a travel agent and I recommend Sky Reef to everyone! I can't wait to make it back in December!
