This was an insanely fun experience. Highly recommended. I loved grinding the cocoa nibs and making our own chocolate bars. Our host Marrrrrtin was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He really made the tour fun. We took our older teens on this tour, and they also had a great time. They want to "make" chocolate again.

Martin was a fantastic tour guide. He was knowledgeable and engaging and made the tour and workshop very fun! I learned so much and had a blast making a candy bar from cacao beans. The margarita was delicious too!

Outstanding peivate tour with Roberto. Learned so much about the great Mayan culture that I never knew. Possibly the best tour I have ever been on. Highly recommend, will not disappoint.

Learning the history of cacao and its importance in the Mayan culture was very interesting. Our guide, Mártin, was very knowledgeable and informative during the whole experience and he made the entire experience completely enjoyable! And we made our own chocolate (no surprise my wife's came out better than mine) the ancient mayan way and it was delicious! And then followed that with making our own chocolate margarita that was also delicious! We did not book this tour through our cruise, we just hopped in a taxi at the port for the ride there ($40.00 RT) and bought tour tickets directly from the Mayan Cacao Company, $45.00 each and well worth it to us. $135 total which I believe is cheaper than the cruise ship price and we got to do it on our schedule without being in a large group. For our chocalate and margarita making portion it was just me and my wife and our guide Mártin. It was a very enjoyable experience for us.

We learned the process of how authentic chocolate was made. We then made our own chocolate. Our tour guide, Carlos was super fun and knew all about chocolate. The margarita was fun to make, but not very good. But it was still an awesome tour.

Luz, our tour guide, was very knowlegeable. We enjoyed learning about cocoa, how chocolate was made by the ancient Mayans and tasting the different kinds of chocolate. We also had a presentation about how tequila is made along with a tequila tasting. This was a very enjoyable experience.

We did a version of this tour during our cruise excursion and had a blast. It also included stops at a local market and village. Our guide, Angel, was awesome and made the whole experience memorable. He has so much pride and knowledge having grown up in Cozumel. The margaritas we made were amazing and I learned a a lot about the different Tequilas. Chocolate making was also fun and delicious.

Thanks Angel for hosting our tour!

Roberto Palma, our tour guy, is a gem and an asset to The Mayan Cocoa Company. He created an enriching environment and was very attentive with everyone. We had a great experience and enjoyed it so much we would recommend the journey to our family and friends.

On a side note, there were two staff members that did not share the same passion as the reset of the Mayan Cocoa Company; however, they were not essential to the tour.
