- Freedom1876020 contributionsTerribleTook Cozumel by Trolley Tour via Trip Advisor. The guide was disengaged and when I asked a question at 1st stop I swear she rolled her eyes. No history was given and the stopping points were definitely set up with restaurants and shops to feed their businesses.. we left early and walked back to ship - don’t waste your money like I didWritten February 9, 2025
- nataliebD5282LW0 contributionsWould RecommendWe went on the Jimny tour to Jade Cavern and Playa Mia Beach Club. Unfortunately due to weather we were not able to go snorkeling for the first part of the trip. Instead we were given a tour around the island and got to see crocodiles in their natural habitat and visit a few local souvenir shops. Our tour guide Melton was great and very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed Jade Cavern and seeing the different wildlife such as pigs and bats. We really enjoyed seeing the nature side of the island thanks to our guide.Written January 27, 2025

- N0rmalee0 contributionsWe didn’t feel we saw anything new or different to make this excursion worthwhileThis was a 3 hour trolley tour with stops at a 420 yr old church, another stop with tequila tasting and chocolate tasting, yet another with plenty of time to shop. SO many shops and pretty much all selling the same stuff - lots of jewelry (who knows about the value?), booze, leather and souvenirs. Also pharmacies where many drugs that require prescriptions in the US are over the counter here. Paco was a good guide but difficult to hear and understand at times - he could use a bullhorn or microphone. Extremely aggressive sales people and much of it very old, dirty and in need of fixing up. Trolley air conditioned.Written November 1, 2024

SO JUST BEWARE. Having said that we did loved the excursion. Fun. 👍Written September 30, 2024

The jade cavern was cool to see. We opted not to swim but there was still some cool wild life to see like the iguanas and bats! The beach resort was beautiful and we saw lots of tropical fish. There was also trampolines to play around on. Would recommend the jeep tour for sure to stay enclosed and enjoy the air conditioning on a hot day!Written July 28, 2024

This was my husband’s pick of an excursion so keep that in mind - and he did all the driving. The ATVs were very fun to drive/ride on and the paths were absolutely covered in puddles, bumps, and deep holes. You can rent crocs but we didn’t and we just lifted our feet/legs going through the puddles and didn’t get muddy. Miguel was our guide and he was great. He was Mayan and gave us a lot of info about the culture and the cenote caverns history. We were lucky because our group was just us and the guide who drove 1 other person which made it more personal. I cannot emphasize enough to cover yourself with bug spray! The mosquitoes were relentless and unfortunately we forgot our spray in our cabin. They have cans for sale for $10 and if you don’t have any definitely “splurge” and buy it. I thought I covered myself well enough and still got about 8 bites through my clothing, so spray skin and clothes both. There is a locker you can use which was handy bc there’s no storage on the ATV. The cenote stop was cool but the water was murky looking due to lots of recent rain so we didn’t go for a dip. Plus all the bats who occupy the space! We enjoyed the tour very much and it was only about 15 mins from our cruise terminal.

Our tour was AMAZING and so professional. We had Miguel as our guide and he was so knowledgeable and fantastic. We only had my boyfriend and myself and one other couple in our group, so it was nice to have a small tour. We were visiting the port from a cruise ship but booked the tour through trip advisor and I strongly recommend it if you want a smaller group and to be away from the cruise crowds.
Again, PLEASE book the tour if you’re thinking about it! Very knowledgeable about the land we rode through, even had “paparazzi” waiting to take pictures of us during the tour. We LOVED Miguel and all the crew around, so funny and kind.

It is worth noting that conditions vary considerably by season. People talking about going through mud and creeks did this during September - November (for the most part). We went in July and the whole course was bone dry and dusty. While it was still fun, it was rough...the bumps are no joke and pot holes are far more severe than NYC or Chicago (haha)...but for those up for a vigorous, this ride will provide a lot of fun. They provide bandanas for your face, a helmet, and goggles (which you can wear sunglasses under). They have lockers to rent for $5. Close-toed shoes are required and Crocs can be rented for about $5. Cenote is beautiful, peaceful, and stinky! LOL! The sulfer is strong is strong with this one! Plenty of bats, but they mind their own business. We were able to jump from 25 feet up. Water is cool and refreshing. My son brought his shoes home and made our entire suitcase ripe...so $5 might be worth renting the shoes! Very tasty local tequila tasting offered at the end. Pictures were also available to purchase for $45 (for the set for the family).

This tour was so much fun to ride around on the dirt roads and check out the Mayan caves. After reading the review on this place I took a chance and booked it and overall the experience was great! We rode around on the streets first and then got to the off road part and have stopped to check out the caves and some people have jumped into the water if you’re brave enough. After that we rode around some more and stopped at the small town shopping center and there you can get yourself a cold coconut for $3 usd, it was super refreshing would recommend.

The ATV adventure is intense! Lots of dust (no puddles) at this time of year. Very rough terrain with numerous (unavoidable deep pot holes and protruding rocks. The ATV is not like a car with power steering - your arms get a workout! I would say this adventure is good for people in good fitness and muscular/skeletal health. I loved the jungle, the cenote swim ( I did not do the 25 ft cliff jump) the bats and the tequila tasting. Israel is a very fun, energetic guide and his partner Miguel made sure no one at the back of the line got left behind.

Such a fun and exhilarating tour! Our group of 4 was the only one on the tour so we got the guide to ourselves. They did some warm up rides on the ATV through some easier paths before taking us out into the jungle. It was my first experience on an ATV and I absolutley loved it. If you want adventure, to get a little muddy, and to race through the jungle on a rugged ATV, this is the tour for you. The cenote was beautiful, and once again we got the cenote all to ourselves. We spent some time swimming, jumping off the small dock, and taking pictures. The paths themselves through the jungle were just small dirt roads big enough for an ATV which was such a beautiful / cool experience. The team running this really went all out too, there were people on ATVs that would get up ahead of us to get fabulous shots of us on the ATV in the jungle. I wasn't planning on buying any photos, but they turned out really cool and were reasonably priced so I went for it! Lastly, and unexpectedly we ended with a free tequila tasting! The bar tender was so nice and gave us tasters of their tequila. It was 15% alcohol and fun flavors so its tequila for people who don't like tequila. All in all, great experience that will be a highlight of your trip to Cozumel!

We recently went on the ATV Adventure to Jade Cavern. This was my wife's first time driving and ATV. She was a little hesitant at first but after about five minutes she got used to the speed and bumps. The trails is truly off-road with many ruts, bumps, rocks, and mud puddles. Our guide Victor did a great job keeping the group together and making the experience lots of fun. At the midpoint, we stopped for water and a quick rest at the Jade Cavern. The cavern was beautiful. Many of our group jumped off the rocks above. Also, there are bats in the cavern. Very cool. The second half of the ride is faster with some parts being on a smooth road. Towards the end they took us down into a cave the was dark and muddy. Only about 40 foot long but exciting.
Expect to get hot, dusty, and muddy. There are outdoor showers available to rinse off after the ride. This would not be good for those with neck or back issues since the trail is so bumpy.
After the trail ride, we were driven to Playa Mia Beach. This is a beautiful beach area with many inflatable water attractions, dining area, bar, etc. It was great to be able to cool off in the water and get some sun.
Overall a great trip!

My wife and I had a blast.... riding the 4-wheelers through the woods of Cozumel, kicking up some dust and ridding like the wind. Visiting Jade Cave was a BLAST. Our tour guides, Israel and Will were WONDERFUL! These two guys are Fun and Informative! When we returned from our trip, my wife realized she left her iPhone at the cave. This crew went above beyond to find and return her phone to her. If you are thinking about this trip... do it! You will have a great time! Don't forget to pet their sweet cats!

The trail rides were varied in terrain and maintained very well. Expect to get a bit wet but that was part of the fun. They take photos along the ride but you you need cash. The photo transfer is via physical media to your phone and in today's world I would not recommend that, way too easy to get your phone compromised. They need a better system
