This dive shop and staff are of utmost quality. Punctual, attentive, smooth experience overall. Sami was an exceptional guide - gave sound advise and kept a tight group. Ratio was usually 6-8 divers with a guide. As an open water diver that is still low/moderate level - with my number of dives, I felt comfortable and safe with this team, especially regarding drift diving. They really made my whole vacation manageable, exciting and fun. Sami was great at pointing out the underwater fauna and helped me enjoy this dive location to the max. I would recommend the Occidental location to anyone who wants to get away from the crowds and yet have all the amenities one needs.

Pro Dive, best in the business

We completed 3 two tank dives from the shop at the Occidental resort. This was our second trip diving with Pro Dive, and I will always make them my first choice when available. The Occidental shop is extremely well organized and well managed. The dive boats are safe and well captained. The dive masters are as good as they come and we ALWAYS feel safe and well looked after. Coralie does an outstanding job of getting the right dive package booked and scheduled. I also appreciate that diving NITROX is the same price as air and it was available for all of our dives. Thank you for a great trip and experience.

Agata and Kris were outstanding. Aga speaks polish which is very helpful for travelers from Poland. Both were very helpful and knowledgeable. Cornelius handles all your gear and does a great job! I dont know what he uses to wash your gear but my stuff has never smelled so fresh after a dive trip! Jessica and the staff at the shop at the occidental resort were great. The only complaint that I have is that the boats were way too full for my comfort. The staff followed covid 19 precautions, but there were almost 20 divers on the boat and it made it impossible to keep any distance from those that you weren't traveling with. If pro dive offered smaller diving groups on smaller boats I think many would be willing to pay a little more for this. Also, it would be awesome if there were boats geared at people taking pictures as we prefer to go to reefs with less current so we can take pictures. Its not very pleasurable when photographers and inexperienced divers are put in the same group.

Underwhelming, inept/rude office personnel

Pro Dive’s reservation & office personnel made our experience very underwhelming. They took 2-1/2 weeks to get us booked. I called & emailed several times but most were unanswered. We reserved a 2 dive Cenote trip but it turns out this is an advanced dive that requires considerable experience. Fair enough, but they didn’t tell us up front and went ahead and booked us; fully aware of my girlfriend’s limited experience level. They don’t issue refunds either - just vouchers to reclaim services in the future. I recommend to avoid pre-paying anything with Pro Dive. If you get bumped due to weather, boat, or equipment problems you won’t get your money back. Pro Dive’s boats were overcrowded and were at least 20 min late every dive. At the start of our trip one of the snotty office girls said I would ruin everyone else’s experience if I didn’t do a refresher dive in their pool. Bad communication, crowded boats, basically a snorkel tour company. Pepe scuba was way better than Pro Dive on our last trip to Cozumel.

Pro Dive is NOT a customer friendly company

I booked a dive trip for myself and a snorkeling trip for my family.

My dive was excellent and the reefs are spectacular, but Pro Dive is not a company I would recommend. My morning dive was one hour delayed waiting for boats to pick us up from our location at the Occidental resort in Cozumel. This did not bother me terribly. I understand that sometimes things happen. However, Pro Dive compensated for the lateness by limiting our bottom time, which did not seem fair to me. We as customers paid the price for their mistake.

The snorkeling tour was cancelled due to bad weather, so Pro Dive rescheduled for a different day, which again is fine - stuff happens. Unfortunately we got sick so we tried to cancel. Pro Dive would not give any refund.

This is the most mercenary company I have ever dealt with and I would recommend against using them. If you stay at Occidental, other companies will come pick you up at the pier. If you do decide to use Pro Dive, then I would recommend you not pay in advance!

I loved the resort and intend on returning, but will definitely take my own advice and use a different company for diving/snorkelling.

Christmas vacation in Cozumel

We recently booked a vacation at Allegro Cozumel which included 2 tank scuba excursions thru Pro Dive. We were very pleased with the entire experience. The staff at Pro Dive are professional, attentive and organized. Two of us took a refresher since we hadn't been diving in years. Herra put us at ease and was very thorough and kind. Diving with my teenage sons, I wasn't a nervous wreck because I was confident in the experience of the dive masters, Herra, Nathan and Eddie. We rented all of our equipment and it was all great. Brand new tanks BCD's and masks. We just can't say enough good things about Pro Dive Cozumel. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Pro Dive at occidental hotel cozumel

I did 2 two tank dives with Pro Dive.
This was the week of February 21st to 28th 2020.

Pros,
very nice staff to deal with.
dive masters, Sergio and Rey were both very very good.
nitrox included at no charge if you are certified.
convenient location right at the hotel.

Cons,
high pressure to pre book/pay for diving.
no REFUNDS, only voucher good for three years if you cannot complete all booked dives.
fully booked a lot of the time.
large crowds, 40 to 50 people for 3 large boats, several dive masters, everyone trying to get there equipment, predive information at the same time.
not enough weights for all divers
you must carry and set up all of your own equipment. (not a big problem, just an fyi)

This was my second week that I've spent in Cozumel.
the first trip in 2012 we had 3 days out of 7 with red flag conditions, meaning the harbor was closed, therefore no boats and no diving.
This trip we had 4 out of 7 days with red flag, a real disappointment.
I had originally planned to dive 8 to 10 times.
I am glad I did not pre book. I would have lost a lot of money as I do not plan on returning in the next three years.
This is not related to pro dive but worth mentioning.
When surfacing from the dives there are a LOT of boats on the surface, be very careful.
You will encounter a lot of other divers during the dive. make sure you stay with your group, it's like a busy highway above and below the surface.

I will use Pro Dive on my next trip to Cozumel
Really good operation. They were concerned about safety. Free nitrox was provided and they had O2 sensors to check on boat. They did safety stops on all of the dives. Dive masters in the water did a good job keeping track of the divers. Boats were comfortable and spacious. They had 3 boats that they used according to the number of divers they were taking out. I have a rather obnoxiously large camera set up and the boats were large enough that it was not a problem. They also had camera rinse tub on the boats. The ladders were easy to climb getting into the boat. I did a full week of morning and afternoon dives with them plus a couple of night dives, and once they knew you they let you dive your profile within safe limits. The front desk was very organized. They tried their best to divide the boats by experience level. While I didn't take a course, I did see how they were taught and they seemed to do a good teaching the courses. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The only little difficulty I had was trying to communicate and book online. But once we got communication ironed out, the booking and payment went quickly. But with the dive shop on the Occidental property everything was A++. My next trip to Cozumel, I will definitely use Pro Dive.

Had a awesome experience diving with Pro Dive International! Hans took care of us at the beginning and Rudy our dive master was the best! We stayed at the Westin and did 10 dives and 1 night dive. Definitely planning our next trip back. Capt., Crew, staff were helpful, spoke Spanish and English. Would definitely recommend to any diver wanting to explore Cozumels awesome diving.

Great people and great dives!

We were diving last week with Pro dive at Melia in Cozumel. Even though the weather was not as cooperative as we would have liked. Pro dive worked very hard to make sure that we got to go diving twice while we were there, making sure to communicate with us every day about our diving options. Our first dives were shore dives since the boats couldn't go out,and it was just my friend, her 13 yr old daughter, and myself and the dive master. The 2nd dives were off a boat and there were only 5 in our group. Our dives were Great! So beautiful, so many creatures, so much beautiful coral, and rock formations. Really exceeded our expectations in every way! Everyone was so kind, considerate and professional, every staff member was so nice and helpful. The equipment was all very nice and new as well. We had great dives with great people Thanks Ann
