About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- donnam09180 contributionsAwesome time in Cozumel!I couldn't wait to get to this excursion being a fan of the television show. It was great time and set up nicely. We never knew where were in the pack. The best thing about it was they didn't make it super easy. I'm not a shopper so it was the perfect way to spend the day. We came and 3rd and went home with our medals. I happily took third since the nurse in our group was only 2 weeks out of her boot!!Written April 29, 2024
- jfunk40 contributionsOur Favorite Excursion and Best Way to see Cozumel! We did a Family/Girls Trip with 6 adults ages- 24, 26, 42, 45, 55 and 70- This was the one excursion that all 6 of us thought looked interesting. It turned out to be everyone's most favorite adventure of our entire trip! It was such a fun way to explore Cozumel. Essentially each team must work together to solve various puzzles/challenges and navigate their way through the city. It's a ton of walking, which can be at your own pace, unless you want to win- in which case, you need to speed walk or run from spot to spot- which we all did- even my 70 year old mother! The only downside was that we found a ton of cute spots to eat at and shop but since we were on a mission to win, we couldn't spend a ton of time exploring them. I would have loved to spend another day in Cozumel going back to all the places but since we were on a cruise, that wasn't an option. Our tour guides were so friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend this excursion!Written April 24, 2024
- Lisa H0 contributionsFun ExperienceWe had a great time. The staff worked hard to make sure we always felt safe and were having fun. We had a good map, good instructions and a cell phone that made it easy to call for help if we should need it. We did not "win" but we didn't care. The teen with us thought it was super.Written April 19, 2024

This was a very well organised event, booked as an excursion while onboard Norwegian Breakaway.
The four team members looking after all the Racers were excellent, very clear and very encouraging to everyone participating. Thank you Ada, Patty, Naomi and Martin.
You get taken down to more downtown Cozumel where the Race takes place and see sights you would more than likely never visit. Don’t worry about having to cover extended distances - you’ll cover a number of streets, the plaza and waterfront - and the Race is split into two sections so you can have a quick pit stop.
One of the really nice things is that you get to interact with some local small businesses as you hunt for clues - again places you’d never normally go and visit, and the locals will also help you on your way. During your pit stop do head into a local bar nearby, get a quick drink to rehydrate and then get ready for the second part.
And one final thing - yes it’s still a competition, you do have to hunt for the clues and puzzles - and at this time of year, you will be out in the sun and the heat! So wear comfortable shoes and pack your sunscreen.
Cannot recommend this enough - everyone is really supportive of each other and have a laugh - especially at the finish line and ‘award ceremony’ ( free drinks included here - and you can buy food too if you wish).

Fantastic. This was everything I wanted in the experience. A step away from the cruise pier and focused in the downtown walking area, this let us experience the better priced shop areas while running around. Real locals tried to help and answer questions. Bring along small denominations for frequent tips that can enhance giving back to the community we are racing through.
Dress for heat and speed if you want to win. Game mechanics are fair with some variety for simultaneously racing teams. Hosts are very helpful without giving things away. Just like the real race, finish your clues completely and sequenced checkins with your whole team make it a great experience.
5 stars. 10/10. A+

We did this as an excursion from a Carnival cruise in November. It was TOTALLY amazing! Your family/friends are your team (my team was just my 15 year old daughter and I). We met Patti at the port and were taxied to the starting location. Patti, Ada, and Martin were our hosts. Rules were given and off we go! Just like the Amazing Race on TV! We saw some really interesting things in Cozumel we wouldn't have had the opportunity to see without this excursion. We visited a market, courtyard, parks, lighthouse, statues, Gelato place, art gallery. Patti, Ada, and Martin were great about everything! I was a little worried we would get lost but the map was simple to follow. They even gave us an 'emergency phone' if we got really lost. The guides are always watching over you and within a few blocks away.
We saw all ages on this from 5 years old to over 70. Be prepared to do a LOT of walking in the heat. Bring hats, fans, and lots and lots of water. We only had a 10 minute break at the halfway point of the race to guzzle water and I wish we had brought more (if you run, you might even have time to buy some Gelato from the place you visited as a clue!).
Also, no bathrooms along the way so go before you start. There were pay-for bathrooms at the halfway point break for $1 so bring cash if you need to go. At the end of the race, you take a water taxi back to a beautiful beach club for a ceremony (we won bronze!) where we got 2 free drinks (we guzzled more water!) and chips and salsa. You may purchase more drinks/food if you would like. We got guacamole for $9 USD. Photos are available to purchase that they took of you along the way. You can choose to swim at the beach club afterwards (bring a backpack with your suits). They had a nice beach and the water was beautiful the day we were there. We then took a water taxi back to our boat for free (though we tipped). You can get the beach club to call a taxi or it was a 10 minute walk back to the boats.
Overall, a 10/10 experience and we would highly recommend!

So glad that we decided to do the Amazing Cozumel Race as a family. It was REALLY fun! Money well spent! This wasn't a 'typical touristy' thing to do. We got to learn about Cozumel history and see parts of Cozumel that we wouldn't have otherwise ventured into. Ada & Patty were such fantastic race hosts. The clues were clever and fun! Our teenagers (12 & 15) were really into it. We didn't have any issues with getting lost, but they kept pretty good tabs on everyone and they gave us a cell phone as a 'just in case'.
The restaurant at the end the race had really yummy Guacamole & Chips!
I hardly took any on the race because we were moving fast to compete, but at the end of the race they sent us sooo many photos that they had taken as we raced. Really appreciated that!
I'm told they change the clues up, so I would definitely do it again. But I will be recommending this to everyone I know visiting Cozumel. Even if you're not competetive, you would still find it really fun!

Had a really great time doing this tour with my family, including kids. It was a surprisingly memorable way to see a lot of Cozumel while getting to use/know a little Spanish and a little about the history and area (not necessary to know any of this to have a good time doing the race). While you get to know several businesses and places in Cozumel, we never felt pressured to spend in them as part of the game, the way you sometimes do with local tours. Ada and Patty did a really great job keeping the tour at a fast pace, while getting lots of photos of us all (built-in souvenirs of our visit). They were really great guides, who made sure we felt comfortable, safe and sure of what was involved throughout the game, while touring a wide area. We have done a lot of escape rooms and similar scavenger hunts, and this was by far one of the best. Big recommend as a Cozumel tour.

Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words. We are thrilled that you had a fun time. We have struggled to regain our footing in Cozumel since the pandemic, so we are most grateful for any and all positive reviews. Thank you so much again, and be sure to visit us in our St. Thomas, Los Angeles, Kona, or Catalina locations.

My husband and I both had a great times doing the Amazing Cozumel Race. We thought it was a fun way to see the area and get to know some fun facts about landmarks and the area establishment. The staff were very fun and accommodating. We would recommend this to anyone who enjoys exploring and puzzle solving. This experience gave us some fun memories!

What an amazing experience. We got to run around the city searching for clues while engaging with the loco locals to help us find these clues. The tour guides were fun and engaging and made it a blast! Highly recommend to groups of 4-6.

Best shore excursion ever! What a great way to see a lot of a place in a short amount of time. I'm a fan of the show and was excited to do this. My husband and our friends were not fans and were less excited, but enjoyed it just as much as I did. It's more of a scavenger hunt with puzzles to solve, rather than the physical challenges of the real show. It was neither too easy nor too difficult, but just enough of a challenge. We visited some interesting places (a market, art gallery, gelateria, the plaza) and got a bit of a workout. We're all 60+ but didn't find it too strenuous, though some competitive teams did quite a bit of running. Patty, Martin and Michelle were all great! Encouraging and helpful and fun! I highly recommend this -- a welcome change from a day on the beach. Plus it only takes 2-3 hours, so you still have plenty of time to go explore the rest of the island.

We arrived by cruise ship, but booked privately. The guides were absolutely amazing. They were so friendly and encouraging. They took loads of photos of us on the race, which was great because we were too focused on winning to take many (humble brag: we did win). The other participants were friendly and had a great time too. The snacks and drinks at the finish line were very welcomed! There is a thoughtful "halftime" pause for teams to go get snacks or water (go get water!) and recharge a bit. The tasks were well thought out. The locals were very friendly and were very excited to help. This ranks as one of the best cruise excursions we've ever taken. Please do yourself a favor and book this trip!

This 'adventure' was awful. The cruise ship ranked this as a highly active adventure compared to jet skiing. But, it was a confusing map with little to no instructions, a lanyard that told everyone we were tourists and a lot of walking within the cruise port area amongst closed shops and run down buildings. Once we figured out a convoluted puzzle, we had to walk three blocks to the next spot. Clues were hard to figure out (and we have college degrees),and involved a lot of math, (come on, we are on vacation). We were expecting to get to a location, and do an activity, like frost cakes, or sell something, carry something to a different location. On the fourth stop of more math, sitting in the hot sun on a dirty street curb with stray dogs lurking around us, we quit. The other team quit as well. We all said, this is not fun.
