I am Marilee K's aunt (previous review). She pretty much covered our opinion of the tour in her review. However, there are a few things I would like to add.

My family lives in Mexico and felt like the "hosts" of relatives from the U.S. who were visiting. They were cautious because of Covid 19 and, thus, did not want to leave the resort mulltiple times. So, we looked for a day tour that would cover what they wanted to see outside the complex of the resort we stayed in. The 4X1 tour seemed reasonable and went to the places they had expressed a desire to see. Also, it was bi-lingual and they would get explanations in English.

My niece covered most of our complaints about the tour. However, I would stress the point that the "sermon" given on the tour bus by our guide about his disability and life-changing experience with the "shaman" on the way to the cenote was totally uncalled for. Also, the visit to the shaman's hut after visiting the cenote was not incuded in the tour information. Those "5 minutes" with the shaman turned into more than an hour along with incense and a private session ( for a few select tourists) with the guy. This was totally not part of the tour we were offered!

Those who stayed on the bus (while others got off at the shaman's hut) were given no explanation of why they were being separated from the group. Of course they were anxious about what was happening, and the guy that spoke good English was not with them on the bus to give an explanation! They were just a little scared about what was going on! Meanwhile, at the hut, those of us who were there were given time to buy the wares offered (obsidian stones that would cause us to have positive "vibrations", etc.) and also time was given at that point so that those who needed to pay with a credit card could pay there.

If something could be changed about the tour, I would definitely cut out the "sermon" on the bus about the guide's life-changing experience plus the visit to the shaman which was not part of the advertised tour anyway.

We felt badly about the fact that the tour we arranged for our relatives turned out to be less than hoped for.

We went on this day trip on 6/23/21. There was a lot of stalling on the bus. The drive to Tulum was long enough for the tour guide to tell us what extras we needed to purchase. But he took 15 minutes speaking while we were PARKED in the parking lot, lessening our time at the ruins. After Tulum, we went to Coba, which was fun. Then we ate in a small restaurant where they lied about the need to take our picture, supposedly to prove they were adhering to the COVID restrictions. That photo was then used on bottles of "healing solutions" that they tried selling us! The drive to the Cenote was at a snails pace, another stalling tactic because there were other people at the Cenote. On the entire drive there, the tour guide went into a personal story about being born with a disability and being healed by a shaman...not tour appropriate! We left the Cenote only to be swindled again at a roadside stand where we were asked to give the locals "5 minutes of our time". Some of the tourists remained on the bus, and as soon as the majority got off, the bus backed down the road. The bus did not come back for 50 minutes, and the tour was stalled AGAIN because some tourists were lured in by the shaman. This was infringing on our tour time. It then took 2 hours to get to Playa Del Carmen, where we arrived at 9:20. We were starving, so we hardly saw the town before we were required to be back on the bus at 10:00. This was not a tour as advertised. We were told we would be back by 8:00, and we were not back at our resort until 10:30. Do not waste your money on this tour...go with another company.
