DO NOT buy tour from Cancun Bay tour. They are thieves!!
Overall presentation is great. Lipstick on a pig is an accurate comparison. Fabricio, Roberto, and Eduardo are good at what they do. With style, they quickly turned our tour of chichen itza and the cenotes into a passive aggressive charity fundraiser for the various local communities we conveniently “detoured” on the way to our destination. At EACH and EVERY stop we were coerced into “donations” for one reason or another after being assured our initial $105 fee would cover all costs. My girlfriend and I did enjoy what little information was offered while being pinched for every penny on our tour. You will be introduced to many “amigos along the way” with many causes to donate towards. Near the end of the tour we were lectured on the lack of value of a coin and “encouraged” give bills. Conveniently before our stop at Bahía Príncipe tulum we are given a few tequila shots while he encouraged to “Donate”. I would suggest bringing approximately 150+ American cash as you will be accosted at every opportunity to forfeit your money for various causes. My primary concern is with the customer service and follow up with the company. Prior to the conclusion and drop off I left my wallet on the tour bus. My partner and I immediately began chasing our tour bus to gain the attention of the driver. We were ignored dispute running/ jogging 200m after the bus on the tulum highway with vehicles passing us at various speeds. That evening we reached out to various members of the company who told us they would inform us in the morning should anything turn up.In the following day we reached out to the company representatives as no one had contacted us. We were told nothing was found on the tour bus. When I asked for the contact information of the the tour guides or their managers I was told the information could not be shared for the safety of the employees. I was told by individuals who could not name our tour let alone our bus that it was searched and nothing was recovered. After this we were essentially ghosted by Cancun bay and their representatives. Keep your guard up folks and bring cash as this is less about touring Chichen itza and more about grinding every penny possible from the guests. Keep all personal items close or at hotel as you will receive 0 help or acknowledgement should an accidental situation arise.

DO NOT USE CANCUN BAY TOURS
Terrible experience using Cancun Bay Tours. We did this excursion to Chichenitza on January 3rd 2024 & we absolutely hated it. It felt like they just wanted to squeeze any money they could from us the entire time. The tour started off with pickup at our resort and they drove us to a mall in the hotel zone where they made us get off the bus and walk through the mall into a gift shop to get a bracelet for Chichenitza. It seemed so unnecessary to do that it was time-consuming and took away from the time we had for the excursion. After we got back on the bus our tour guide didnt speak to us for the first hour of fhe drive once he did he told us about all the things we could buy from them throughout the excursion and made it a point to tell us not to be late back on the bus from each stop because he would not be waiting for us and if they leave without us we will need to take a taxi which can be expensive. He made a comment about how people in Cancun should have money and he didnt care about if we were spending a lot of money because a lot of money to us may not be alot money to others. Our next stop after the mall was the Cenoté. We hardly had any time there. We literally ran to change, rinse off, go in the cenotè for about 15-20min run back to rinse off again, change and get back on the bus for the next thing which was the restaurant we would eat at for our (1 meal included) We were told we couldnt eat until the other tour buses that got there before us ate, So we had to wait for about 30min in a [you guessed it Over priced GIFT SHOP]until it was our turn. My mother in law asked about a dress and it was priced at $125usd. It was cheap material definitely not worth even $20USD My daughter wanted a bracelet and it was a simple beaded bracelet that cost $25USD. the food was not good & the people serving were a little rude. Drinks are not included so we had to pay for each drink.. There were only 4 bathroom stalls in the restroom and 1 stall was out of order so we had to wait in a long line to use the restroom because there were multiple tour busses there with a lot of people. After the restaurant it was finally time for Chichenitza it was very crowded they gave us an entrance ticket for the adults but told us anyone with a child had to go wait in another line to get a ticket for the child. Our Tour guide said there was no parking so once we got out of the site basically walk around the crowded parking lot until you find the bus. The tour guide also told us not to buy anything from the people inside Chichenitza selling souvenirs however we found that the people actually selling things inside of Chichenitza sell the souvenirs for close to nothing and it's actual Mayan people that make these souvenirs by hand just trying to make a living. Chichenitza was hot hardly any shade and I didn't see anyone selling water or drinks so make sure to take Waters & a Hat or umbrella for shade. After Chichenitza we went to our last & final stop which was Valladolid a colonial city we had 30min there we used it as an opportunity to use the restroom and get an ice cream to cool off after being in the sun for 2 hrs at Chichenitza. After Valladolid we got back on the bus and headed home the tour guide had the audacity to ask for a tip and tried to guilt trip us by telling us how he doesn't make much money and also to keep in mind it's him & his family he needs to feed and the Bus driver and his family so to please tip both of them SMH don't use this company unless you want to be rushed and ripped off.

The best in town for tours
Ricardo is an amazing bus driver and Luis Giménez is an extraordinary tour guide. Once you’re thinking on Cancun - Chichen Itza you should hire this company. I recommend them!

Tour Guide did an awesome job! And kept the tour interesting. It was also very educational learning about the Mayans way life and to learn the science of the pyramids. Had fun and would definitely recommend taking this tour.

        Good
It was great but as per the lunch there were other groups and our group had to wait for more than 30 minutes. It would be better to take a packed lunch. Also we were not told that lunch was not inclusive of drinks whereby we would have paid for a package that included drinks. Anyway we toured all the places I had paid for though some places we had a very short time.

        Good value!
Good value for the cost. We got the premier option. Tour guide at Chichen Itza ruins was really good. Explained quite a bit of the history and culture. Bus guides were also good explaining what to expect next. I wish they combined the swim with dinner since there were a few restaurants available at the sink hole (Cenote) albeit more expensive that the stop in Valliadolid. Be ready to spend over 5 hours of the total 13 hours on the bus!

        so so
It’s a very long tour, bus is comfortable, your guide very knowledgeable, Got back to the hotel on time. It would be better if they skip the obsidian demonstration and make us spend more time in Cenote. The guide did not escort us inside the place where we go to cenote and we had to find our way through. Also in Valladolid, we were just dropped off by the bus on the street and waited for us there. No background about the place and guide just said churros pointing at the churros place where we got dropped off so we just walked around, but no idea about history of place. The free lunch, we waited for so long to be allowed to enter the restaurant and was very hot day. There was fly in the container where of chicken 😩. Bottled water/drinks not included

        Chichen Itza
Swimming in the cenote was top notch, very cool experience! Touring Chichen Itza was awe inspiring and definitely a bucket list item marked off! Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and plenty of cash for shopping along the way!

Did this trip with My Cancun Tour and it was a trip from hell. They told me to be in the hotel lobby by 6:45 they arrived late in a mini van, didn’t explain anything, took us to a bus, again didn’t explain anything. Then off to a different bus. Wasn’t given any information or what was happening. Drive to different hotels for a period of 4 hours before heading to Tulum. Missed breakfast from the hotel, the buses and tour guides didn’t give us opportunities to purchase food. They wanted us to pay $13 for a sandwich and unlimited drinks. The tour was like a hike. No stopping for food, the bathroom was a mess. I can go on and on. Did not get back to my hotel until 10:30pm. Will not recommend.

On June 11, 2021, we were not picked up for our tour. I called the tour company. I was told to take a cab to the drop off point and they would reimburse me for the fare via pay pal. I took a picture of taxi driver holding the $12.00 and the cab as a receipt since the cab driver could not give me a receipt. I sent the photo to the tour company. I still have not been reimbursed. I have been calling every couple of days and being told it is administration. Cancun Bay Tours did not communicate with the tour operator to drop us off at our hotel. Once we completed the tour, the tour operator did not want to drop us off back at our hotel. We called Cancun Bay Tours and they were closed. We explained to the tour operator what happened they were so helpful and took us back to our hotel.

We had a wonderful day with our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide George and driver Rodrigo. From the time we got on the van, George welcomed us and explained the tour and our lunch options. In each site, we took the time to tour the place with our guide while he is explaining and giving us the history of the Mayan civilization. We had a blast swimming in the Cenote. I highly recommend this tour and George, very passionate about his job and very proud of the culture.

Zeferino and his driver were great to guide us on the tour. We had plenty of time to view the sites. The tour did last just over 12 hours from hotel pick up to drop off in Cancun. Beautiful places to visit. Lunch was good. Tulum is very hot with little shade and lots of walking. Coba plan to either ride a bike for $10 or have someone bike you “Uber” for $20 (for one to two people). The Cenote was very cool and refreshing. It rained on us in Playa Del Carmen so we it kind of ruined the shopping outside.

The tour was amazing, and Pablo was a delight. His passion, energy, authenticity, and linguistic ability continued to astound my wife and I thought out the entire (and lengthy) day.

In addition, Bruno was an A+ driver and that is saying a lot considering the terrain. Well done, Bruno.

Besides for the tour guides, the sights were beautiful. Coba is truly a hidden gem. Make sure and rent a bike when given the chance.

      Overall, fantastic experience.

Bruno, the driver and Pablo, the Mayan guide were a great team.
We took in the ruins of Tulum and Coba, was blessed by a Mayan elder then swam in the sacred waters of the Cenote, and had a little play time in Playa del Carmen. We learned a lot about Mayan culture thanks to Pablo, who was steeped in Mayan culture. It is evident that he cares for his people and should have a PhD in Mayan Studies. He was constantly referring to photos and diagrams in his binder and his zeal is infectious. This excursion is worth every penny. Note: if you have a physical disability, the uneven sidewalks and concrete may be a hindrance to your stability.

Trip was long, sites were goog, logistics could be much improved. Our pickup was 07:10, when ee go to a transfer point to lay additional taxes (disclosed). That took 50 minutes. Then, we take another larger bus, and travel 50 more minutes to another transfer point. Change busses again. Then, another 45 minutes to our first archeological site! We arrive at 11:00- and it is hot- oppressive, 88F, w/ 78pct humidity=100.4 heat index, fill sun, fry eggs on the rocks. Next stop was 2F cooler, still hot. Lunch was amazing! Mayan food was the best, chicken and or pork was the meat, with beans (black!) and rice, olus salad and a tasty chile sauce (don’t miss it at the end of the buffet). You are strongly urged to take the bike to the Cobá site, they say it is 45 min walk otherwise, but its only 15, and the walk is in full sun. The bike taxi runs $10 for two.
Cenote swim was perfect on a hot day. Jump down 25ft to the water (don’t forget to update the life insurance LOL), you can also walk down some stairs:). Carmen del Playa was too short, but the trip already runs 13 hours. My recommendation: start earlier to avoid oppressive heat, and scrap at least one if not both transfers.

We had a great guide named Raymundo. He provided excellent explanations and anecdotal information about Tulum, Coba and the cenote swim. He’s been very patient with group and have given us ample time sightseeing. He also gave us tips so we don’t fall into the tourist traps. Will definitely book through this company again.

My family and I just recently enjoyed this tour. Everything from beginning to end was amazing. Our driver Fabian kept us safe on the road and arrived at every stop safely. I truly enjoyed the knowledge Zeferino our tour guide had of the ruins and history. He easily answered questions other tourist had and his explanation process was excellent. On our tour date Tulum happened to be closed but we did visit other ruins instead. Not their fault and when traveling sometimes you have to adjust. We had notification of this a day prior but Zeferino made sure we were all aware of the change prior to initiating the tour. I would have like to have spent more time at the Cenote but also feel the way its scheduled does give enough time to enjoy it comfortably. Water bottles were provided on our tour but I do remember this being specified in the description of (What's included). I recommend to read those details as it is important to stay hydrated on excursions like these. The transportation vehicle was very comfortable and the AC was great. On our return it was already pretty late and the light were shut off to allow us some rest as we traveled back to Cancun. That was very nice and much needed. I would definitely recommend this tour. I did not post any photos as most include my children but just know the sites are wonderful and photo worthy. Our pick up and drop off times from our hotel for this tour where also timely.

Great experience! Our guide Pablo, and driver Fabian took very good care of us. Made a long day worthwhile.

We were first picked up from our hotel by another driver to go to a pharmacy/gift shop in a shopping center to pay the taxes for both places. During our drive to each place, Pablo would let us know insightful Maya history and stories about the area, while also giving us time to relax. We were also given the option to stick around for a more guided tour of Coba or go explore on our own. The entire day is jam-packed but I felt like we had just enough time to get a good feel of each area.
