If you want to learn more about culture and customs, this tour was very interesting and authentic. I would highly recommend it. You’re taken into a Mayan village and given the opportunity to experience their way of life. The ceremony, which was translated by a guide, was mindful and spiritual. Part of the ritual has pretty intense heat in an enclosed dark space but you have the option to bale if it gets beyond your comfort zone. The cenote swim afterwards was awesome and very refreshing but you must be able to descend a staircase to access it. Our gracious village hosts served a basic but delicious meal in an outdoor candlelit dining area. As you will find at any tourist stop in Mexico, there was a small shopping area for souvenirs. The ride from Cancun was long, about 2 to 2.5 hours with lots of traffic. Since it is a nighttime ceremony, traffic wasn’t as heavy on the return but be prepared to arrive late to your hotel so you may want to sleep in the next morning.

This was one of my most impactful events I participated my whole Cancun trip! The Mayan village we visited was a step into a truly special place suspended in time! It was amazing to first experience traditional meal preparation which was delicious when we ate it after the ceremony. The actual purification ceremony was very uplifting and eye opening. The guide was very good at explaining and translating the words and actions that were happening around us. after the purification, we enter the Temazcal. This was an intense sensory experience but safe guards were in place to insure you could remove yourself from it if it gets too intense...
Afterwards, a dip in an open cenote, to cool off then a traditional meal was served with the freshest tortillas I've ever had...Will do again!!!!!

On our last night in Cancun saved this tour for last. We have travelled extensively and the ceremony felt authentic to us. It was an awesome evening with delicious homemade food served by Mayan people in their own community. The drive out is long ie 1hr 45 min from Cancun so be warned but on the way back you are so relaxed you sleep the whole way! The swim in the cenote under the moonlight was especially memorable. Would highly recommend.

Good show, sauna and swimming in the night. Food was also good. Giving 4 of 5 because Blue Caribe didn’t provide water on a van.

The activity itself was very good but unfortunately very VERY touristic... we went there as a couple and we meet a large group of Russian people there. You will be with 20 people at the same time, and your guide will jut explain you what to do but not why we do it. No history background just a cash machine with local people forced to play like maya... too bad, it could have been very good.
