      Sunset hike
Margaux is a very pleasant, kind and humble young lady. She is more than a guide. I feel like I made a friend here in Oaxaca, during our hikes, activities, sharing a meal and coffee as we talked about so many things. She speaks 4 different languages, very knowledgeable about Oaxaca and herself had traveled to so many places. I am so grateful that I met her and we will meet again who knows where next time but we will. The hike was The hike was great, sunset view of Oaxaca from the top was absolutely stunning

      Fantastic experience!
Tony was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. Margaux was very communicative, kind and accommodating. The itinerary was packed with so much great information and experiences. My favorites were interacting with local artists, learning more about the area and its history, contributing to people that partner with local prisons to share art and don’t get me started on the chocolate experience! It was so informative, entertaining and delicious. Highly recommend!

One of the best tours we took in Oaxaca
I was surprised how much I liked the tour. I am not the artsy one in the family but the street art was really amazing and our guide To OK ño really took his time to explain to us how everything works and the messages behind a lot of the artwork. The cacao / chocolate workshop was really enlightening and really opened my eyes to a new way to experience chocolate and cocoa products. I also appreciate it that the owner Sonia supports a charitable cause with her tour proceeds which includes artwork therapy for incarcerated individuals and to promote more humane treatment. What a great value for money and I’m so glad I did this tour

Local connections and knowledge make the tour!
Margaux was a generous host with great communication, picking myself and a friend up to go hiking in the mountains surrounding Oaxaca for an afternoon. The tour included lots of thoughtful extras including a ritual at sunset, photographs we could take home and a great dinner at a local restaurant where her relationships with the local community enabled a comfortable and enriching experience. Highly recommend!

      Reconnection with nature
What a beautiful experience. Definitely much needed after all the travelling prior to this tour. Reconnecting back to nature was the perfect medicine and the surrounds were simply breath taking. Thank you Margaux for such a memorable experience 🙏🏼💛

An excellent and thorough walk that shows the growth, changes and beauty of Oaxaca in town. Tony and Margot were excellent. Tony thank you for going the extra mile with us, and answering all of our varied questions.

      Fantastic morning hike above Oaxaca
Great hike on the mountain with excellent views. Margaux is a fantastic & knowledgeable guide. We were accompanied by Mila, another local of the four-legged variety. Also had a terrific breakfast of local dishes. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Tony’s Tour: The Best Art and Cacao Experience in Oaxaca
This was one of the best tours I have ever been on, seriously. Tony was super relaxed, informative, and down-to-earth. It was perfectly paced and I appreciated his commentary on not only the murals, but the history of Mexico, Oaxaca, and the artists. This tour expanded my appreciation of the arts and of the city. Thank you, Tony! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!! The cacao tasting was fascinating, too! Learned so much about cacao, and making the hot and cold chocolate was fun :).

      Great cultural experience in nature
I had a wonderful morning with Margaux hiking in the beautiful hills just outside of Oaxaca City. The local spiritual rituals were interesting and helpful in cleaning out what no longer serves me. Margaux was kind, informative and had a wise, gentle soul that I really appreciated. The breakfast was also delicious. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get to nature and explore a spiritual side of Oaxaca.

      Art and Cacao
Tony was a friendly guide who knew a lot about each of the murals that we visited. He explained the intention behind each one, as well as some of the recent history in Oaxaca. The murals were awesome and it was great to interact with artists in the workshops that we visited. The cacao tasting was super informative and delicious.

      Fantastic walk of discovery
We had an amazing time during this tour. Not only did we get to see the amazing street art in Oaxaca but we learned about its roots and meaning. The tour also included a visit to an arts collective run by young people and to an arts studio where we tried our hand at producing something memorable. It was a bright sunny day and how better to end our educational walk than by learning about cocoa and tasting it! It was truly a fantastic walk of discovery. We highly recommend it!

Fantastic art tour of authentic Oaxaca
We had a fantastic time on this tour. Tony walked and talked us through SO many great murals, workshops, and spots around Oaxaca Centro; he made us feel like we were locals. Have a good breakfast before you get started, carry a bottle of water, and wear comfortable shoes and sunblock. The tour took 4 hours with Tony and an additional hour at the cacao workshop; all of it totally worth it. Highly recommended this tour, it was the perfect way to kick off our trip and familiarize ourselves with the city.

We joined Margo on Christmas day for the Cacao Day experience and had a wonderful time. Our group included young children (5 and 2) as well as seniors and the activities Margo arranged were a good time for all of us.

Margo is more expensive as a guide than other options in Oaxaca but her experience comes with some nice extras such as gifts from Rut and Irvit's chocolate experience or a nice reel of photos from the day.

Overall a great time and a nice conclusion to our trip to Mexico!

From now on, every time I make a cup of hot chocolate I will have a different level of appreciation for it, especially considering the roasting process, the grinding of the cacao beans, and finally the moment in which you get to savor it.
Food has always been an emotional velcro, a love language that binds people together without care of socioeconomic differences. This experience pointed to the simple things in life that create meaning and memories. Starting from the cacao learnings, and its rich history, to the molinillo creation. Followed by a beautiful hike through La Cumbre in Ixtepeji, was a beautiful compliment to a memorable day.

Margaux was absolutely fantastic. She designed the tour which included a morning at Chima, a very small artisanal chocolate producer, where Ruth and her partner have created a beautiful small hands on experience. We learned about the process of taking the Cacao from the pod all the way to the grinding process and then the mixing of the chocolate to create a delicious hot chocolate. Then Margaux took us up into the Sierra Norte where we hiked to an altitude of 10,000+ ft. and the most incredible view. We wrapped up our high altitude trek with a visit to a small family business that produces the molinillo, a wood whisk used for making hot chocolate. Upon our return we stopped back at Chima, the chocolate shop and retrieved our bagged chocolate that we had produced in the morning. Overall, a completely positive and enjoyable experience.

The Cacao Day was really excellent! We started with learning how to prepare drinking chocolate, which we then took with us on a beautiful hike in the Sierra Norte. After the hike we had lunch and visited a local village where they make the traditional molinillo, used to make the hot chocolate. Margo is a wonderful guide and Ruth from Chimalapa Cacao is quite the cacao expert. This is a great alternative excursion for anyone who loves chocolate and hiking. Highly recommended!

Yesterday we went with Margaux for bird watching and hiking in the Sierra Norte Mountains. We saw about a dozen different bird species--including the Red Warbler and the Dwarf Jay. These two are birds that people travel all the way to Oaxaca to see, and we were so lucky to see them. Then we hiked to the top of the mountain with spectacular vistas. Margaux was knowledgable, friendly, and we had an excellent day. We also did the City Art Tour with her the day before and had a wonderful time.

Such a beautiful and lovely experience with Margaux! She has lived in Oaxaca for years and knows the area, people and trails. Her spiritual guidance was beautiful and grounding and such a relief after the stressors of being in the city.
