Excellent travel service Agency for transportación & tours.
I love the service that Oaxaca Dreams have provided us again this year again. Last year I used them for the first time and I used them again for our second visit. Private Round trip Transportación from Airport to Hotel as well this year. This year tours was by Luis Guadarrama private tour of san José del Pacífico. Ezequiel Puerto Escondido Express small group. Both Luis and Ezequiel are super friendly and very professional, we enjoy the day with them. I highly recommend Oaxaca Dreams to friends and family and people who would like to visit this beautiful City. Excellent travel service. Thank you so much and see you next year for more adventures to come.

Wonderful experience to Hierve el Agua
The tour was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and constantly translated between Spanish & English. Making it very enjoyable for both speaking parties. Our tour guide used the commuting timeframe to give us insight information of the location we were headed, so by the time we arrived, our time was spread exploring the area (with expectation to Mitla, whom we had a local tour guide). We wish we had more time in Hierve el Agua (limited to 2 hours approx) but it's understandable when traveling through tours. My family experience was wonderful. Luis and Eloy were very friendly, and caring and answered all our questions. They also tried to give us insightful information regarding the communities and what life is like in the area.

Interesting engaging tour of Mont albán
We booked our tour through findyourguide.com who contracts out tours to local companies. In this case it was Oaxacadreams. Our guide was Eloy, a Zapotec, who energetically explained Mont albán in Spanish and English. Hi knowledge of Mont alban, the Alebrije, the black pottery history and how it ties into his own Zapotec culture really brought the tour alive. He answered all my questions very well, great guide.

Would recommend for an action packed day!
We went on the Hierve el Agua tour with Luis and it was really good - it didn’t feel overly touristy and we learnt a lot about the local culture. Everything went very smoothly and Luis was an amazing tour guide!

      Great & Memorable Tour!!
Fantastic bilingual and knowledgeable guide, great communication, comfortable transport and sufficient time at each location. Altogether a very memorable experience that I highly recommend. On a side note (and out of the hands of the tour operator), if you go on a tour please be punctual with the meeting times and locations, to avoid time wasting and disrespecting the other people on the tour ;)

      Friendly and helpful
I did both tours, Hierve Agua and Monte Albán. Both tours were well organized and had amazing information regarding every spot. Each location was amazing to learn about and see. The tour guide Angel was funny and attentive, was able to answer any questions we had. Definitely recommend! Safe and welcoming!

Immersive day exploring beyond the city - highly recommend!
Excellent day spent touring Agua el Hierve, the Tule tree, Mitla, regional weaving, panderia and chocolate shops and more. Adir our guide was a wealth of regional knowledge and he truly is passionate about sharing his culture, including many details and insights that would be hard to pick up if you chose to just hire a taxi or private car out to these places. I found him to also be respectful of regional and indigenous people, patiently explaining customs and governance structures that influenced the pace of the day. Adir led the tour in both Spanish and English which was good for learning more of the language. He also pointed us to one of our favorite meals - lunch at Fundo San Diego at Mercado Merced (thanks Adir, that was a perfect recommendation and a phenomenal meal). Highly recommend! Tips: bring lots of water, some solid snacks and cash for the various entry fees, treats and meals along the way.

      Perfect Oaxacan Day Out
What an incredible day out. We spent the day travelling around Oaxaca and seeing six incredible sites. All were varied and extremely enjoyable. Our host, Adir, was the best tour guide I've ever met. He was so personable, friendly and funny. He shared his knowledge of Oaxaca and his ancestry with such passion and conviction. Could listen to him for hours. He's also a great dancer. If you're in Oaxaca, would highly recommend.

A solid day trip around the central valley of Oaxaca.
There's much to learn about Oaxaca, her history and customs; and this tour is a really wonderful introduction. Our guide for this trip was Adir. Adir, like many Oaxaqueños, is very proud of his heritage and is excited to share his knowledge of Oaxaca. I definitely recommend bringing ample water and cash to support the economy of the central valley of Oaxaca by enjoying all the bread, chocolate, tamales, helado, fruit etc., as well as bringing home a rug or two from the textile artisans in Teotitlan del Valle. Hierve el Agua is extraordinary and I recommend taking a dip. The mezcal tasting was great, but keep in mind that there are endless varieties of mezcal and one should try as many as possible while visiting Oaxaca but, if you don't drink alcohol the cuisine of Oaxaca will keep you enchanted for every meal without alcohol. Don't forget to give a tip!

Great day out with Eloy and Oaxaca Dreams
We had an awesome day out visiting Monte Alban and local craft workshops with Oaxaca Dreams. Our tour guide Eloy was FANTASTIC - he was really funny, super knowledgeable, spoke incredible English and was passionate about making sure we had the best experience in Oaxaca, both on the tour and with general recommendations. I'd really recommend this tour, particularly as it's great value for money - although the lunch and Monte Albon tickets aren't included in the tour price, they were both very reasonable and the lunch was a delicious Oaxacan buffet allowing us to try a bit of everything (including moley).

This was well worth every penny. It’s a long day of sightseeing and our guide Luis was great. I was amazed by how much was packed into 12 hours. If you want to swim wear your bathing suit under your clothes to save time.

Last Minute Trip Cancellation - AVOID!!!
Do not book with this tour group. They will charge you then cancel 12 hours before a trip if they don’t think they will make enough money. They have no business offering and confirming tours if they will not live up to their obligations. Their support staff is rude and unhelpful. Avoid them.

We had a great day on the Monte Albán tour led by Luis. Our guide Luis was very informative and shared great information about the history of Monte Albán in particular. We were picked up in a small yet comfortable van, and our group was just five including us (six including Luis), which was a great size. The drive to Monte Albán passes by quickly, and provides nice views of the valley on the way up. Once at Monte Albán, Luis guided us through the first portion sharing plenty of backstory for about 30 minutes or so. Afterwards, we were given 50 minutes to explore the ruins, which are spectacular. The site is beautiful, and hard to capture well without being there in person. The history of the Zapotec, followed by Mixteca, civilizations that lived there is very interesting. This is the site where an amazing burial tomb was discovered. Would definitely recommend separately going to the cultural museum next to Santo Domingo church someday after or before to see the skull covered in turquoise stones and the other excavated artifacts. Following Monte Albán, there was a quick Mezcal tasting, followed by lunch at a buffet style spot (try the tlayudas - similar to a large crispier quesadilla sort of), then to an Alebrijes workshop to see the artisans making some of them, and an opportunity to purchase some if you’d like. You can also find plenty of Alebrijes all over the city of Oaxaca if you’d prefer. The end of the tour was capped off with a visit to the Barro negra (black pottery) shop of Dona Rosa. We were shown an example of how they throw the pottery by hand, and the craftsmanship behind it. Overall a great day and worth seeing, especially to visit Monte Albán and learn of its history.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you had a great time on the Monte Albán Tour with Luis. It’s fantastic that you enjoyed the history, the breathtaking ruins, and the balance of activities like mezcal tasting, the Alebrijes workshop, and Doña Rosa’s black pottery. Your suggestion to visit the cultural museum is spot-on—it’s a perfect complement to the tour! We’re thrilled you found the day enriching and fun. Hope to see you again for more adventures in Oaxaca! 😊

This wonderful tour was a fantastic value. Not only did we see the awesome ruins of Monte Alban, but we also went to two different artisanal workshops, getting a chance to see how carvers and painters create the delightful alibrijes and how Oaxacan black pottery is made, all for a very reasonable price. Our guide, Eloye, was knowledgeable and able to explain in both English and Spanish. He brought a lot of background information about Monte Alban that made us appreciate how sophisticated the people who built the site really were. Have to also give a thumbs up to our driver, who navigated some serious back roads with aplomb. We could not have been happier with the experience.

We loved this tour - which is available in English or in Spanish. Oaxaca Dreams make sure that the group remains small which allows for a more curated experience. We were given plenty of information on Monte Alban which is a gorgeous and large site (we liked it better than Teotihuacan!) and then we had time to explore it on our own and take plenty of photos. After that, we visited a co-operative which makes alberijes (shaped and painted wood sculptures) followed by a traditional Oaxacan lunch with plenty of options (not included in the price of the tour but very affordable and the best food stop we have done in a tour so far). We saw an open air church from the 16th century before ending at a local black clay workshop and returning to Oaxaca.

Our guide Luis was great! He picked us up at our hotel at 9 am and drove us the entire day. He is so knowledgeable. He gave us a 1 hr tour of Monte Alban and then we had 1 hr free time to look around for ourselves. It is a great site. Next we went to a mescal making demo and tasting. Then to the town where they make the whimsical brightly painted carved animals called alebrije. Luis showed us how they are made. Then we had an opportunity to buy and next, onto a delicious lunch at a very out-of-the-way restaurant- great buffet - all for 20 pesos. Then to the Black pottery exhibition and showroom. Again Luis demonstrated his knowledge about the process. Finally he dropped each of us off at 5pm. What a day! And so reasonable!

It was an amazing tour and knowledgeable tour guide in both English and Spanish. Some EU foreign tourist that were English learners struggled to understand the guide but if you are well versed in English you should have no trouble with the guides English. We were picked up at 9 am and were back in the centro by 6 ish pm. The lunch option is not great but not terrible and is a hair pricey be sure to take cash. Overall totally worth the money and was a fabulous time.

I would like to recommend that you take an English speaking only or Spanish speaking only tour. Our guide, unfortunately had to keep going back and forth between Spanish and English. He did his best but often forgot to switch to English as Spanish was his first language. The tour guide seemed to know a lot about architecture and I would have liked to have heard it all in English. Unfortunately, we did not get a lot out of the tour but we did buy a good book about Monte Alban in the gift shop and will read it to find out the details that we missed.

It was an amazing day and the guide was such a sweet person, super knowledgeable and spoke great English! The tour was well organized and planned with enough free time to wonder around and explore Monte Alban (take pictures and such) as well as look at the beautiful arts at the two artisan places we visited after. I would recommend this company if you'd like to combine a few things in one day and see something truly beautiful and authentic. Btw, the guide himself is Zapotecan and speaks that language, which was really interesting to hear :)

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, we were picked up quite promptly as well. Tour guide spoke very good English and helped us learn not just about the Monte alban but the vegetation that grows there. The painted wood work and the the black clay sections were also cool as well.
Only improvement I can think of is probably including the buffet in with the cost of the tour and draw up the new price. Seeing a higher price for the tour I feel would be better knowing that lunch is included in the price

The tour started great, the tour guide Eloy seems to be an amicable guy at the beginning.

Strike One. After a an hour or so in Monte Albán Eloy just finished the tour at half of the place and told us to rendezvous an hour later. When asked what the rest of the tour consisted in, he told us that he wasn't sure what the other pyramids were for and sent us to read the plaques with the descriptions. That's the whole point of having a tour guide lol.

Strike Two. When asked about the veracity of some information Eloy acted as he was offended while a person just asked if the info was collated or if the other versions of some story were true as well. So he started to ignore that person from that point on.

Strike Three. He was asked by some tour company to give a ride back to one of the people on our crew and he denied her that service being overbearing, and skipping the conversation ignoring her in front of the rest of the 16 people in the tour. After that my girlfriend and I help the lady to get to her hotel because of the rudeness that he showed to us.

Other than that, the tour is very complete, you go to pyramids, then to an alebrije shop and a barro negro pottery shop at the end. They also take you to some place in Zaachila to eat but I think that the Zaachila Gastronomical Market is better.
