This is one of then most beautiful places I have been to. Our tour guide Lalo was so passionate about the land stewardship and protection of the site. Ask for him when on the tour because he is knowledgeable and an easy going personality which creates a fun relaxing experience.

This tour provides everything you need. I would recommend purchasing tissues, goggles, and snacks for before lunch and the ride back at the snack stop. Purchase your favorite drink for your lunch. They provide water , don’t forget drink it. It’s a LONG day. You don’t feel the dehydration until the end of the day.!

I would also recommend bringing a bigger water phone case because the newer Samsungs and iPhones are getting bigger than the bags provided.

The Tolantongo hot springs are beautiful and relaxing, but the most incredible things are the geological formations and caves. The water current is so fun to swim through.

Our driver Cha Cha or Lalo (also) was incredibly clean and always refreshed the van between spots. I very much appreciated it.

Women, being an extra towel and conditioner and hair brush.

As a seasoned solo traveler, I had everything for a comfortable end of day shower as the amenities provided at every basic. I provided myself my own loofah and lotion and such. Please consider your needs based on level of personal maintenance you prefer to be comfortable on the ride back.

Bring a pillow for the drive.

These tips are to make your tour even better but if you don’t have any of this, you’re going to have the best day of your life. It’s beautiful and calming and just mesmerizing!! The things you experience on this tour with Lalo and Cha Cha are some of the most powerful examples of the hidden beauty available in the world.

This tour was absolutely amazing! Danny, our Tour guide was perfect host, always making sure everyone is safe and happy. The car ride is little bit long but our driver was very experienced and we had few stops, like breakfast or bio break.
The destination is absolutely breathtaking, hot pots, zip lining, waterfalls, cave with warm water, river with warm water, picking on the river as a finale of the great tour. Be prepared to be wet over couple of hours, but the water everywhere is warm and the water was hot. Just take some clothes for change, you can take shower before the return to the city.
The tour was perfectly organised, the communication was transparent and detailed via WhatsApp. This is included in the price: You get breakfast, backpack with waterproof phone case, towel, waterbotle, headlamp. Later you will get new towel for your shower. You can rent water shoes or buy them on the way with the tour. The backpack will be returned on the end of the tour.
The driver is staying in the bus the whole time, you can leave your stuff with him. Even your passport or money, they will close it in the glove compartment.
I highly recommend this tour, if I am coming back to this area, I will go again.

4 couples of friends from Toronto took this tour to Tolantongo. Our guide, Alex, from TuroTours, was in communication with us even before the tour started to ensure we knew the timing and exact location for pick up at a very early hour. While the ride on the bus is long, due to the distance from Mexico City, there were sufficient stops along the way for washroom breaks along with a very good buffet breakfast (included). TuroTours thought of everything including towels, headlamps for the caves, water bottles, soap, shampoo, etc. The site itself is amazing with beautiful hot water pools (33-38C), waterfalls, rivers and two awesome caves to go into. Lunch (not included but reasonable) on the riverbank was also excellent and filling. Alex was a terrific guide and very informative about the local indigenous peoples that live there and operate the site and he provided us with an insight as to how this fascinating community functions. TuroTours provided free snacks and appropriate stops on the way back to the city that were well timed and appreciated. Despite it being a very long day, this tour is a must see and I would highly recommend the visit to Tolantongo with Alex and TuroTours.

Uncomfortable ride - A cramped car with no leg space and no storage space for a long 14 hour journey

Long winded instructions - first received a email requesting to add WhatsApp then another WhatsApp msg to join another WhatsApp group. After which, they sent long sets of instructions.

Tour guide (Tania) - overall pleasant and accommodating to groups needs.

Warm springs - water was lukewarm and overly crowded in each pool. Too much time allocated here. 2H

Overall, the trip to hot springs was not worth it. Underwhelming water and excruciating long hours to commit to this 14 H trip.

Caming from Australia, Lalo and his team made me feel very welcome. They gave myself and our tour group an INCREDIBLE experience at Tolantongo. Everything from the food, the scenery and communication was perfect. I had even forgotten that I had already paid for the lunch experience and given Lalo extra money to cover the food. After Lalo double-checked everyone's bookings, he returned the extra money I had given him and showed that I had already paid for it. They are a very trustworthy group and will give you a memorable tour!!

If you’re looking for an incredible day trip to explore the water at Tolantongo, this tour is a must! We started early, with pickup at 5:30 a.m., and embarked on a scenic 4-hour drive with our tour guide, Alex. He was fantastic – knowledgeable, organized, and fun! Alex made sure we reached the hot springs at the perfect time and took us to the best spots.

The tour took care of everything. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast, and Alex arranged lunch right by the river, which made the experience even more special. They provided towels for the hot springs and showers, so we only needed to bring our wallets. The hot springs themselves were amazing – warm, soothing, and just what you’d hope for in a therapeutic experience.

For those seeking a bit of adventure, there’s even a zipline through the jungle, which adds a thrill to the relaxing waters. We also visited a cave with a hot spring next to a pool, which was a unique and beautiful spot.

It’s a long day, with 4 hours each way, but absolutely worth it. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a seamless, relaxing, and fun-filled day at Tolantongo!

What can I say other than this place should be one of the 7 wonders of the world. The mineral waters were tepid to hot and not only enjoyable but soothing. Next time we're in Mexico, we plan on spending at least 3 days at the Grutas de Tolantongo. There is NO NEED to order lunch beforehand since there are eateries inside the resort other than the restaurant which aren't so expensive.

Now on to what I didn't like:

The small backpacks which are provided do include a water bottle, sport towel, headlamp, cell phone water protector, toilet paper and wet wipes, and a wet clothes bag (which is the same bag). The water bottle reminds of a used 99 cent plastic bottle (it had a sticker which was peeled off like it had been used for something else previously) which is filled 3/4 with clean water. The headlamp which is included did not work and would not be replaced for a working one. My husband misplaced his bottle at one of the pools and my headlamp fell off my head under a waterfall as our guide moved us through the caves. NOTE: If the water bottle OR headlamp goes missing, you will be charged $30 USD! We offered to of course reimburse the cost, but didn't expect to be charged $30 USD for something even I could easily replace for half the cost. Every one of the items provided in the pack MUST be returned at the end of the trip.

The tour guide Marcos was left at least 10 minutes early without appropriate contacting us the time change from 05:45 a.m to 05:30 a.m. He had ruined my happiness with this unreasonably ignorance. The trip adviser is trying to settle their unresponsibility with simply a refund. I am not going to accept it. Can anyone help me? Is it necessary to have a lawyer?

The client had been reached multiple times since Saturday (Monday morning was the tour). We had two groups that day and even though they did not arrive for the first group, we had our second group wait until 6am for departure. We did not hear from them until after the departure had passed. Client was then offered to reschedule or a refund, which we are not obligated to do, but even then the client blamed us for missing the trip and wanted some other form of compensation. We then received threats of legal action against us therefore terminating any further participation on our end. At the end of the day, this client was demanding and disrespectful for reasons out of our purview. We cannot control a client responding and a client showing up on time.

Unfortunately, my experience with Turo and Tania's Tolantongo tour was extremely disappointing. Despite booking in advance and clearly stating my need to bring my service animal, I was shocked to learn at the last minute that they wouldn't accommodate my companion. Their refusal to provide a refund for this sudden change is completely unacceptable. It's disheartening to see such blatant disregard for customer trust and decency. I demand an immediate refund as compensation for their deceitful practices. If they fail to address this issue promptly, I will be taking further action to rectify this mistreatment.

This client messaged us the night before at 9:35pm asking about brining a service animal, less than 8 hours before the trip. We searched for other messages from this customer to see if she mentioned it "in ADVANCE and CLEARLY" but did not find any. Tolantongo park does not allow pets or other animals. This is their policy and out of our control. Had the customer mentioned this even earlier in the day, we would have worked with her to offer a refund. There was no sudden change in policy and can confidently say that we are not in the wrong.

Irving was a great guide and the group was a lot of fun. Nice getaway from the big city. Long drive there and back but well worth it. Sunday was crowded but also fun to experience something many Mexicans clearly enjoy.
