We really enjoyed starting our week in Mexico City with the downtown historical area, walking tour as it gave us the historical context of the area and provided some great tips for things to see and general safety tips, such as how to choose a taco stand that has the right procedures to keep you healthy. Our tour guide Daniella was outstanding and really knew her stuff. She was able to answer all kinds of questions, whether related to the tour or not, and her humour and storytelling really made it an enjoyable tour.

Emiliano was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions. The tour gives a great overview of the buildings in the historic district and we even branched out into the surrounding areas and got recommendations on food and shopping. We only paid $15/each, so the value of this tour is phenomenal. It was worth every penny, highly recommend!!

Arturo was an excellent guide who not only knew the detailed ins and outs of the the city and its history, but also was extremely friendly and helpful (despite us being 15 minutes late to the tour). I did a lot of research before booking this tour and was actually a little hesitant due to its low cost relative to other tours, however my expectations were blown away from the beginning as Arturo deftly answered all of my questions and provided a great base of knowledge on how the city was formed. On top of that he took us to a great dessert shop and pointed out some of the best restaurants in the area.

Emiliano is an excellent guide in every way. He planned a route with stops that revealed the complex culture of Mexico City, its history from the pre-Columbian to contemporary experience, its people and what motivated them, the physical buildings that exemplify that history, how to find good food options in the central area and which other sites to return to or visit on our own. What was notable, in addition to his friendly manner and clear explanations, was his ability to answer all questions we asked with interesting stories that expanded the topic at hand. We learned a great deal that we have continued to reflect on in our subsequent days here in Mexico City. A great way to start an exploration of the city.

Emilio was an excellent tour guide! Very knowledgeable and passionate about Mexico City, where he grew up. He speaks English perfectly and was able to adapt our private walking tour to accommodate my father, who recently had hip surgery and couldn't walk for long periods of time. It was very easy to set up the tour - highly recommend this organization!

Ana was fabulous!! She was not just extremely knowledgeable but very entertaining. She gave us historical info and context, how these facts relate to Mexico today, as well as tips on where to go, where to eat, what's going on in the city atm, and scams to avoid. I enjoyed it so much I'm definitely looking to book other tours with Mexico a Pie (Mexico on Foot).

The Historico Hotel I stayed in, included this tour in your room rate.
I was fortunate to be on the tour on 19 September when all of Mexico does an earthquake drill in memorial to those that have lost their lives in two previous earthquakes on 19 September.
Our guide Andres was fantastic. Definitely one of the best guides I have ever encountered.
His english and knowledge was excellent. He answered questions with ease, and we covered many topics. From history, to food, to restaurants, to the devasting earthquakes, to architecture, and Mexico City's major problem, being that the land is sinking. When the spanish invaded and took over the area from the Aztecs, they filled in the lake that surrounded the Aztec temples.
We were fortunate he was with us when the earthquake drill sirens went, as he made sure we complied with the drill. As we were outside, it meant we had to stand in the middle of the street.
I am grateful that the hotel included this tour and can highly recommended it to anyone who wants to understand Mexico alittle better.

My husband and I took this tour with Emiliano and highly recommend it. A really great way to see the historic centre and parts of the city you wouldn’t know to go to.
We visited several churches and were able to learn the history of them and about the murals painted there.
We loved the history of the Aztec in Mexico City and Emiliano was very knowledgeable about a range of time periods and answered all our questions.
The tour was also interspersed with quick stops for food tasting and ice-cream.
A really enjoyable way to see secret parts of the historic centre

My fiancé and I had some time to spare during our trip to Mexico City. We love taking tours, but most of the ones we were seeing were way outside of the city and 6+ hours. Then we stumbled upon this tour.
It was perfect, 3 hours and all within Mexico City. Our tour guide, Emiliano, was amazing! Super knowledgeable and had many personal anecdotes along the way making it really fun and unique. Some of the cites on the tour would be places we would have just passed by- not knowing there was so much history there.
Totally worth it and highly recommend to anyone who visits the city!

Hello. Do you have anyone free to do a tour today after 11am? I just have one day in the city with my girlfriend and we want to look around anything that’s open. Maybe coyoacan?
Where could we find a wheel chair? We are a group of 10 and one would need a wheelchair for part of the tour.

Hello. We will arrive in Mexico City on a Saturday Feb. 15, late morning. Are there any tours in the afternoon? If so, what time would that be. If not, any suggestions on how we could get to enjoy a good overview of this fantastic city?
thanks.

Yes, if you tell the tour guide that you have a time constraint then he will work his time so you won’t be late for your flight. They are reliable and helpful and generally efficient.
