Our private tour was worthwhile and enjoyable.
The guide, Ana, was fantastic. She was enthusiastic about the museum and the artifacts. She spoke English clearly and well. She let us ask questions along the way. We came away with many explanations of the prehistoric artifacts on exhibit. Her tour was a wonderful experience.

    Excellent Museum Tour
Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The museum is incredible, but there's so much to see that it can be somewhat overwhelming. Our guide spent the perfect amount of time showing us the different areas and highlights.

Andres is the best person to tour on!! We took a trillion pictures for IG, and learned so much about Mexican history!! We only spent 3 hours but could have spent the whole day.

What a night of fresh drinks + lucha libre + friendship!
WHAT A NIGHT!!!! Andres was an amazing guide and the entire group was super fun and welcoming. I was solo and within 30 minutes it had felt as if I'd made about 12 new friends. The mezcal was delicious and the Lucha Libre was beyond entertaining. Take this tour!!

    What a pairing
Andres really made this experience stand out. At first my teen was skeptical and didn't know what he would do during he mezcal tasting, but not only was the tour engaging, it gave tons of historical context to the long and rich culture of Lucha Libre. By the end, he was screaming in his Luchador mask, and fully immersed in the experience.

A must when visiting Mexico City
Andres was an amazing guide - very friendly, knowledgeable and his English is excellent. His passion for Lucha Libre also shows which makes it even more enjoyable. Although I haven't been converted to drink Mezcal in my free time, it was great to try different Mezcals and learn about them. The Lucha Libre itself was incredible to watch live. The 2 hours flew by very fast! I would recommend the tour to anyone thinking about visiting Mexico City.

    Awesome afternoon of lucha libre
If you do one thing in Mexico City, make sure it’s the lucha libre experience. If you do that, make sure your guide is Arturo. This guy is a former professional wrestler and, above that, an experienced and knowledgable guide. Arturo is awesome. This was easily one of the greatest afternoons of my trip. Arturo expertly guided us through our mezcal tasting and then took us to the main event. As a former professional, Arturo had great insights into what it takes to make the grade. When I return to Mexico City, I’m going right to Mexico a Pie and hoping that Arturo is my guide. 10 out of 10.

Fascinating final tour before leaving CDMX
This tour was amazing! I cannot imagine a better way to experience this incredible museum. With Andres as our guide, we felt like we had our own professor. He didn't simply walk from exhibit to exhibit -- he had a carefully-developed plan to take us through as much of the museum as we could in three hours, with perfect segues from one exhibit to the next. I noticed many of the signs are only in Spanish, so Andres's perfect English was incredibly helpful for us. He answered every one of our questions. Mexican history is so rich, and this museum is one of the best I've ever visited. One could easily spend weeks here -- it's massive. We were fortunate to have booked this tour the morning of the day we flew home, and it was a perfect way to end our stay in Mexico. Thank you, Andres!

    A deep-dive into Mesoamerican history!
Oscar was an excellent tour guide—with an encyclopedic knowledge of the vast museum. As most of the information in the museum is written only in Spanish we would have been completely lost on our own, and we came away with a much better understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural history of Mesoamerica (although prepare yourself for a lot of human sacrifice and other creepy factoids about what you are seeing!) Also loved hearing Oscar’s personal story of how he came to appreciate his own cultural heritage, and he is so clearly eager to share his passion for Mexican history with others.

    Great Night
Andres took care of everything. The mezcal tasting was great. We tried 5 mezcals. We learned a lot, too, which made the entire experience more interesting and fun.

    Fun by all
We had a great time with Andres. He was a fun and entertaining tour guide who was able to give us an insider's look at Lucha Libre. The mezcal tasting was in a small hipster spot with excellent chips and guacamole (and crickets!) and our guide there was also good. Definitely a must-do for CDMX.

It was amazing experience with Andres! Great host and guide!
Andres is amazing! He makes lucha libra more fun! He knows English very well and knows all the history of lucha libre, given that he himself was a luchador.

Emiliano was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions. The tour gives a great overview of the buildings in the historic district and we even branched out into the surrounding areas and got recommendations on food and shopping. We only paid $15/each, so the value of this tour is phenomenal. It was worth every penny, highly recommend!!

I would recommend taking the historic city center walking tour with Mexico a Pie. This tour is for a maximum of 20 people. That is larger than I prefer, but it did not present any problems as there was plenty of time at each stop to ask questions (a total of about 3 hours). The upside of the slightly larger group is that the tour was very affordable – about $19 U.S. dollars. I would recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your visit as it provides a historical overview and allows you to decide if there are sites you want to spend more time at after the tour concludes. Our guide, Estafania, was from CDMX, knowledgeable about the history of Mexico and the sites visited on the tour, friendly, and clearly cared about imparting her knowledge to the group. The tour was for English-speaking tourists and we were able to understand most of what Estafania said and she continually asked everyone if they understood, allowing for clarification if necessary. Due to the large crowds and noise level in the city center on weekends, I think headsets would have improved the experience. The tour is focused on a few blocks in the historic center of CDMX, and included the history of a) Zocalo, Calle Plaza de La Constitucion, one of the main squares in the city, b) Plaza Manuel Gamio, the historic center of the city, including the ruins of the ancient Aztec city, the "Templo Mayor," c) Metropolitan Cathedral – one of the most important Catholic cathedrals in Mexico, d) the Art Nouveau "El Palacio de Hierro", a huge department store from 1920 in Mexico city with a beautiful stained glass (a stop to provide a restroom break and time to get water of coffee), and e) Palacio Postal, glamourous post office with one of the first iron elevators in Mexico and an impressive mosaic of the Eagle, snake and prickly pair found on Mexico’s national flag, made from stamps. Estafania is willing to share her recommendations on local restaurants and provides information regarding some of the many museums to visit while in CDMX.

Thank you for you review! Hopefully, with our work and effort, we will be able to improve and get a better grade. Although it may be important to acknowledge that – as you mentioned – this is low-cost walking tour, so bigger groups are just given (around any city in the world). We do have private options for the Historic Downtown area, so it will have a personalized attention and – of course – without the concern of large groups.

We did this tour with Mexico a Pie and were escorted by our guide Emiliano. There were only 5 of us on the tour so it felt very up close and personal. We viewed Templo Mayor, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Presidential Palace on the Zocalo. Then we branched out to the shopping streets nearby to take in more of the area, including the historic Hospital de Jesus - Mexico City's oldest, commissioned by Cortez himself in 1524. Next a viewing of El Palacio de Hierro - an elegant store with an amazing ceiling. Strolling down the pedestrian streets we arrived at the beautiful Palacio de Bellas Artes, build in fine Paris Opera House style. We ended our tour at the Palacio Postal - a gilded extravagance opened in 1907. Our guide spoke excellent English and his narrative enriched our experience in this important place in CDMX.

Our guide Emiliano was very well spoken, knowledgeable about all the sights, fun, personable and clearly loves his profession and his city. Best tour that we took while we were in Mexico City. I hope to get another tour with this company and Emiliano before I depart.

Lilly, our guide was the best. She took us to many of the historic spots but also took us to a few places we did not expect, like the hospital where we saw the beautiful mural there. Lilly was a wonderful historian and was able to answer all our questions. This was a 3 1/2 hr tour, very well paced and such a great value. Definitely book this tour.

Lilly was an awesome guide for our group of ten. She was happy to answer any questions, was patient and gave great explanations for what we were seeing. She was also mindful to be sure that a couple of seniors in our group were comfortable with the pace. She was very patient and never made us feel rushed to be sure that we kept within a 3 hour tour limit. She ended up taking an extra 45 minutes with a smile on her face the whole time. A great start to our trip in Mexico City!

Our tour guide was Andres. Many people typically get the free tour. The ratings were so good, we decided to invest in the $25. The investment was worth it. Andres is very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. He was clearly an expert on MEXICO and had the ability to make it interesting and not boring like your high school history teacher. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic and inexpensive walking tour of downtown. Andres was my guide, and he was able to answer every. single. one. of my abundant questions -- from significance of specific buildings and iconography to general Mexican history. This is a great introduction to Mexico City, and I highly recommend. He was very respectful about wearing masks, and even customized the tour when I wanted to stop at Farmacia Paris (amazing herbal remedy market in downtown), as well as the historic post office to buy some Mexican stamps.

Very good walking tour with a focus on Mexico's complex history. Enjoyed learning about how this history influenced a broad range of architectural styles throughout the city. I recommend not doing the walking tour on a Monday because most museums are closed on Mondays. On Mondays you will not be able to go back and explore the interiors of some of the more interesting stops. We were able to enter the post office (beautiful), part of the cathedral (also beautiful and interesting), and a department store showcasing different architectural time periods. Group size was good (i.e. not so large that it becomes difficult to hear and move around crowded streets.

Thanks for your review. I just want to note that it should have been a full review of your guide and the tour. The fact the museums (not all, by the way) are closed on Mondays is something that has nothing to do with us, therefore a 4/5 is not our fault. Still, thanks you very much for walking with Mexico a Pie!

We really enjoyed starting our week in Mexico City with the downtown historical area, walking tour as it gave us the historical context of the area and provided some great tips for things to see and general safety tips, such as how to choose a taco stand that has the right procedures to keep you healthy. Our tour guide Daniella was outstanding and really knew her stuff. She was able to answer all kinds of questions, whether related to the tour or not, and her humour and storytelling really made it an enjoyable tour.
