About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Retired_Traveler_70 contributionsMerida Yucatan Historical City Overall interesting experience But more expensive as thoughtMy research into Merida Yucatan Mexico initially provided limited insight from travelers e.g. tourists and I resorted to using the expats living there to gain more information. YouTube helped too. After a serious illness, I needed a lengthy getaway break, three weeks October 2024, from my local surroundings to unwind and I was looking forward to good food, sidewalk cafes and promenades in the historic district. Hoping it was similar to the culture to Europe which I experienced on my previous visits there. However, I was wrong, it is nowhere near a Colonial Spanish town, nor even anything close to European layout or culture. One interesting aspect was the inconsistency of service and food quality at the same restaurants separated by four or five days. More information in my restaurant reviews. Having been to other places in Central America, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador and have experienced these delights, Merida will be on my do not visit list again. Don’t get me wrong, there were nice places, things to see and do, BUT all could have been done in a lot of less time. It appears that Merida lives for the cruise line passenger visits every one or two week on a daily schedule. Sites that were visited will be reviewed separatelyWritten November 7, 2024
