- sweetcarolinaj0 contributionsAmazing tourHighly recommend this tour! You visit 4 different cenotes, all with a different activity. From cliff jumping, to zip lining, snorkeling, kayaking and more! - nickmN597UL0 contributionsSTAY AWAY from Julia TravelStay away from Julia Travel! We paid for the Walking Tour of Historic Mexico City and got left without a tour and no refund. A week prior to my trip to Mexico I e-mailed all of the tour companies that I reserved a tour with (Julia Travel being one of three). NEVER received a response to my e-mail. I didn't think much of it so I didn't cancel. On the day of this tour, I called the two phone numbers for Julia Travel and got no answer or reply, not even an option to leave a message. So we went to the meet up spot for this tour anyway but no tour guide ever showed up. I then began calling Julia Travel again and again, sending Whatsapp messages too. Nothing. I put in a refund request to Expedia (the website I used to book the tour) and my refund request was denied. I paid $68 for a tour for two and got left high and dry. STAY AWAY!!!Written November 9, 2020

The town square is surrounded by some great little shops and a large convent. The Kinich pyramid is right in town and easily accessible. - arnyfull0 contributionsa surprise delight!well my sister and I are not teens anymore but it was just us and our new found friends that are a couple. Although they do have activities for children, I think the adults will enjoy this dinner show better!. the show exceeded my expectations since I have seen several cirque this was actually pretty entertaining. It definitely has a party atmosphere with a pirate flare!. the actors and actresses did not break in character including bartenders, waiters and even the food servers at the buffet. the water was a little choppy but the crew put us at ease. there were several good surprises during the show including battle with another ship! the food was surprisingly good! this activity will be perfect for family (adults), and friends! I used to just snob this in clearwater but I'm glad I tried it in cancun! the photo was not too bad at $20 with picture frameWritten January 21, 2020
- Kim G0 contributionsExcellent tour guide company! We did two tours with Julia travel: both were walking tours in the city. Mario was our tour guide for both tours and we thought he was very informative, kind and had a great sense of humor. The price of each tour was very reasonable for the time, knowledge and experience our tour guide provided.Written January 14, 2020

Our tour guide was outstanding. Very informative and kind. The price of this tour was totally worth the experience we had. I would highly recommend. The only part that was slightly confusing was that we were unclear about "breakfast" and "Churro tasting". Breakfast is the churro tasting, so if you are a protein breakfast eater, just eat your eggs before coming on the tour and then enjoy the sweets later in the day.Written January 13, 2020
- GilbertoSandoval0 contributionsLack of customer serviceWe booked a tour through Getyourguide that landed with Julia Travel Mexico City. Terrible service. The tour guide company subcontracted by Julia Travel accepted the booking but “forgot about it” and left us waiting. We had to find the address for Julia Travel in Mexico City and had to personally visit them to demand an explanation and a refund. They told us that we had to deal with Getyourguide to get a refund. We had to threat to stay there at their HQ until they did us right for this miss. Total lack of experience to handle customer service for tourists. Avoid them and avoid Getyourguide too. Each other will only pass the responsibility to each other if something goes wrong and remember you will be dealing with this as a foreigner. Be very careful.Written December 26, 2019
- Liz N0 contributionsFantastic TourOur guide was very knowledgeable and interesting and seemed to genuinely care that we have a good experience, learn about the ruins, and gain a sense of the history and place and context. The tour continued on the bus as our guide prepared us for the next stops. My partner and I agreed that this was the best tour we took during our visit to Oaxaca and we would recommend it wholeheartedly!Written November 7, 2019
- AngelaLewis19720 contributionsZero communication—stay away from this company!!It is impossible for me to review the merits of the tour itself because I was not able to join. After receiving a confirmation email when booking several days in advance, I could not make any additional communication with the tour company to arrange a meet up point or transportation. The listing mentioned transportation from hotels would be provided in only five districts of the city or arrangements could possibly be made in other districts. The previous day, I emailed them my Airbnb address to inquire about transportation or a possible meet up location. Since I received no response, I took an Uber to the first location on the itinerary in hopes of finding the tour well before the designated time. I emailed again that morning and began calling the number listed about 7 am. There was no answer as I continued to call constantly for the next three hours. After standing in line for over two hours at the Frida Kahlo museum, I had to pay for tickets AGAIN in order to gain entry. I still, almost a week later, have not received a response from Julia Tours. I will make a formal complaint and ask for a $130 refund for the two passes I purchased. I feel especially frustrated as I followed the instructions on the tour listing and could not reach, nor was I ever contacted by the tour company. I should have heeded the warning by another reviewer who had a nearly identical experience.Written November 4, 2019
- DDW10050 contributionsDISAPPOINTING TOUR GROUPI can't speak to the museums because I never got to see them. The listing said they picked up at hotels in certain districts. I sent them the address of the BnB I was staying at in the historic district, and their reply was that I had to be at a hotel in a district such as the historic district. I then asked what hotel I should go to, and I never received a reply. I waited outside my BnB for 30 minutes on the off chance they'd come anyway, but no joy. This was yesterday, and I still have never received any further communications. Beware of this tour company.Written September 25, 2019

- DN4870 contributionsAsk For TiburcioThis is an awesome excursion and a great way to see a couple of big attractions, learn a lot along the way and make new friends. We enjoyed being picked up and dropped off at our Hotel in Juarez and having adequate time to enjoy all the activities and not having to wait in the long line at the Frida Kahlo Museum. We had a couple of mishaps on the trip, including our car breaking down and sudden rainfall, no fault of the tour guide. In fact Toburcio our guide went out of his way to find taxis and pay for them in order to get us to Xochimilco and back to the hotels. I highly recommend this tour. Be prepared for a full day due to Mexico’s traffic and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.Written September 18, 2019

- YenimarR0 contributionsTHIS IS NOT AN ATTRACTION FOR LITTLE KIDS!!!!!I could write this review from 2 different points of view and give it 2 very different ratings! When we booked this attraction, we were looking for a kids-friendly activity that my 3 and 5 year old kids would enjoy. We got nothing like that. This was a wild party ship! Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong about it! I actually think that I would had really enjoy this if I weren’t with my kids. They told us this was a very nice ride with some shows and acrobatics. My kids love pirates so we didn’t think it twice and booked our little trip! By the moment we got there we noticed that the place was overcrowded and it didn’t seem to be very safe for kids, but I convinced myself not to panic. I got very suspicious when at the entrance they offered us a VIP upgrade for which we only had to order a bottle and we would get the upgrade. I didn’t think anything bad about it until after the show, when I connected the dots. The staff was very friendly and nice. They were the ones that made me feel a little better about the bad choice I’ve made. Everyone of the staff members was always checking on us, making sure our drinks were full and the kids were ok. the stuff were a bunch of young kids/guys that were very well coordinated and worked really hard. They were performing at the show one minute and running food or setting seats up at the next minute. There was a wild party there and wished there was a way for us to get out of there, but there was no option, we couldn’t get out of the boat. If you’re looking to have some adult time, then you would have a blast, but if you have little kids, please do yourself a favor and pass on this option.Written September 7, 2019

I had read some of the reviews prior to arriving in Mexico City and was really hesitant to try the hop on hop off bus. However, I figured the tickets were cheap enough, why not try it for myself and see what all the fuss was about.
I am SO glad I ended up going. The hop on hop off bus is exactly what you would expect it to be and definitely at the same level of service as any hop on hop off bus you might take in an international city.
Firstly, buying tickets was extremely easy. There were staff members ready to help at the stop and even spoke English with us which made it even easier. We bought the one day pass and it comes with all 5 of their routes. We were provided a map and headphones.
Second, the buses were clean and efficient. We had no problems with the headphones and listening to the English commentary. The stops were clearly marked along the routes and we never had to wait very long for a bus to come along.
Yes, you have to be mindful of your time and the traffic is pretty gnarly in the city. With that being said, we spent all day cruising around on three routes. There is just SO much to do and see. I wish we had bought a 2 day pass or something like that and then we could have broken the routes up instead of cramming them all into 1 day.
If you are a fan of hop on hop offs (I typically do them in every city for fun), I definitely recommend checking it out. It is a great way to see the city and learn from the commentary.

I am typically a huge fan of hop on hop off buses and have used them in many cities. Unfortunately this experience was disappointing on many levels.
The disappointment started when my partner and I purchased tickets online and found they were substantially cheaper if you bought them in person. After arriving at one of the stops we spent over 20 minutes looking for where the bus actually stopped and waited until one drove by (there were no signs visible at street level indicating where the stop was and it was nowhere close to where the app indicated the stop should be) Once the first bus came it passed us by because apparently we weren’t waiting in correct location. We ended up walking half a mile to the next stop where signage was actually available.
Once on the bus the disappointment continued. My partner’s headphones/headphone jack was not functioning and the bus was full so switching to another seat was not possible. After 30 minutes of this we felt our time would be better spent walking around the city.
Give that we spend $36 USD on our tickets we decided to give the bus another try later in the evening and take a different route. We had to take a guess as to when the next bus would arrive, given that the app always says buses are “approaching imminently” for every stop despite the wait being anywhere from 30mins to an hour+.
Once we got on the green line we were again disappointed when it began following the route of the red line. We had confirmed with staff that it was a green line and the bus said green line on it. Our final dissatisfaction came about when it took us an hour to cover two stops, at which point we decided to cut our losses when the bus sat at a stop for 20mins for an unknown reason.
All in all we really feel that we did not get what we paid for and I would avoid this activity unless you are looking for a slow, expensive, and difficult version of the city bus.

Ticket purchase: We boarded bus at "The Angel" with a large group that had been waiting. No one could sell us a ticket onboard and it was so crowded we had to sit in the small lower section of the bus that had terrible seats and no views. The staff used the front four seats that did have a view for their back backs! No one offered us earphones and when we got them the system didn't work. We rode for about 25 minutes in the traffic to the Zocalo where we got off the bus to buy tickets. Got back in line for the same bus and there were no seats available. Had to wait 20 minutes for next bus
Tour: The map they gave us was merely an oval showing the stops and not the underling city so you could see what was near the stop. Once on the bus I tried 8 seats in the scorching sun to find one that actually worked. Once I found one that did work, the PA in Spanish(which I speak) stepped on the translated dialog. BIG PROBLEM: There was no movable cover for shade or protection from rain . The seats cushions were so hot I gave up and moved down to the lower level. Asked the guide to remove his back pack so I could see out the front window.
Did the first circuit of the historical district and returned to Zocalo to see ruins. A large thunderstorm was forming so we decided to take the bus back to Angel. Sat inside because we could predict a coming disaster. About 15 minutes into the tour the heavens opened up. All the people who were upstairs rushed down and we were all crammed into the lower area. The rain came down so hard it leaked into the enclosed area soaking me and the person sitting next to me. They continued the tour dropping people off and picking them up. It was very dangerous. The streets were flooded and the people who left the bus had to wade through the rushing water to get to the sidewalk and cover.
I am a world traveler and have used "hop on and hop off " buses for decades in places as diverse as Buenos Aires, Rome, Tokyo and Sydney. This was the absolute worse experience ever.

Dear tomcZ447VC
Thank you for taking the time to write this review,
I regret to learn that Mexico City Tour didn't live up to your expectations,
Even though we strive for all our clients to fully enjoy our service, there are times when the increase in demand is difficult to foresee and this may cause affectations on our bus’s frequency and occupancy,
The complete map is avaialble on the official website of the service,
Regarding the audioguide, I regret you could not enjoy it completely, although our devices are frequently examined to make sure that all are working properly, unfortunately, this kind of issue may appear during the tour,
Nevertheless, your comments show there is room for improvement; please rest assured they will be taken into account to develop the best possible tour for our visitors.
Best regards,

We went over to Reforma 222 and found the ticket desk (located near Starbucks and it says concierge). Unfortunately they didn't take the credit card but the staff member there advised me that I could pay on the bus.
We were greeted by Nicole and she was absolutely amazing. She took my payment and handed out the wrist bands and earphones. This made me wonder if Turibus addressed all the negative reviews. The earphone quality was quite decent and we were able to hear the English channel just fine. However, I give 4 because some buttons just didn't work to change the channel or volume.
Also 4 because the wait at the auditorio was just too long. We were told we were going to wait for 5mins but it was definitely longer than 10 minutes.
It also seems like we got lucky with the first bus because other buses didn't seem to have an attendant like Nicole. I could see how people would have a problem paying for the bus if there was no attendant on board.
I feel like a few improvements would make it so much better. 1) have the app show a valid pass instead of needing a physical wrist band. 2) a bus tracking capability would be absolutely amazing as it is a constant battle to wonder how to time hop on and hop off.

First issue was they said the buses come every 20 minutes. In reality it is at least an hour sometimes longer between buses. Its a long slog through traffic and at one stop the bus driver decided to go for his lunch break leaving us all sitting on the bus for 20 minutes. Just make sure you really, really want to get off at a particular stop because you may be there for a long, long time. The map doesn't remotely resemble the actual city so hard to tell where you even are.

I am normally a big fan of City Tour (Hop On-Hop Off) buses and have used them in many cities. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing for many factors. We started with the fact that it was quite hot in Mexico that weekend of May 11, it said that the service had air conditioning and they didn't turn it on, the driver was very rude when I asked if they could reach me a set of headphones, his response was that he had nothing to do with it, he was just the driver. The most horrible thing that happened to us (7 people with elderly adults) was that after saying that the bus finished running at 8:00, they left us stranded in Coyoacán from 4:00 p.m. After that time a bus never arrived to return to the city center. I do not recommend them, they are unfulfilled. They speak badly about the other transport company, which is very bad, however they did not comply with what was offered. I will never use them again, at least in Mexico.

This is a review of city tours, a third party that sold reservations for turibus hop on hop off. We made reservation through city tours but when we got to the turibus they had no record of reservation. We weee told to contact city tours directly. Emails went unanswered and we couldn’t find any phone contact. We had to buy tickets again from turibus. We got ripped off by city tours. Don’t make reservations with them! The turibus tour was fine. We went around Mexico City and also to Coyoacán. Do not use city tours!

Excellent tours, very well organized. Unfortunately, they depend on a crazy traffic, so do not make plans based on the buses. For example, it took the bus 2.5 hours to go 4 stops on the south line to arrive to Frida Kahlo museum.
All the bus drivers are amazing.

Tickets we bought through trip advisor did not work. We had to buy tickets again at bus. The trip was suppose to 3 hours so we expected to get back to our starting point. Due to city traffic the bus did not get back to our original destination and we were told to exit the bus at the end of the 3 hours.

The booking was easy. There were people at each stop as you needed your electronic ticket and then get a receipt that you have to show each time you get back on. You also had to get a wrist band.
Downside was trying to get an online map of the routes to see the best place to catch it from. It is on the web but takes a bit of looking.

Hola! Vamos a estar viajando en el mes de Mayo. Quisiéramos saber si alguna de las paradas del bus nos sirve para ir a recorrerte el Estadio Azteca. Muchas gracias!!

hello!
Sorry, we stayed at the Hotel Marquis Reforma on Reforma and there's a stop right outside that hotel (though it didn't do us any good as they drove right on past us as we hopped up and down waving our tickets....).
You'll have to check the website for the stops. Don't believe them when they say the bus comes every 15 minutes. That's a total lie.
Ubers are cheap and easy and we found them safe.
Good luck!
ps. Floating Gardens of Xochimilco are a fun thing to do.

En el mismo bus y seguro hay parada cerca, pero recomiendo ir en domingo para que haya menos tráfico y no tengas que esperar para la recogida en las paradas

when you purchase a ticket can you hop from route to route on the same day?
Also, I didn't see the Castillo de Chapultepec? Is this on one of the routes?
thanks

We did the same thing. Took the route that goes to Castillo de Chapultapec/ Chapultapec Park on a separate day. The same stop gets you to the Museum of Anthropology which is wonderful. Bathrooms in Chapultapec Park close around early dinner time and there are no bathrooms in the Starbucks by the street.

Quisiera saber si los tiquetes solo se pueden comprar en línea o podría yo pagarlos directamente en el bus?

If we purchase tickets online , can we board at any stop? What will we need to show? Where is the closest stop to tThe Grand Fiesta Americana Chapultapec?

All you need is the photo of your purchase as they will scan or a print out. Nobody has tickets in todays world they are all etickets
yes to buying at pick up points but I found most people had etickets or photos
As to where to pick up I think you will find their route is set and you can see it on line.
Every day I mage it to there rear of the Museum of Arts and picked up the tour there

If I purchase online, can i board at any of the stops? or do I need a bracelet.? What do I show them when I board?
Written April 15, 2019
You need a bracelet. I would go to one of the main stops where 2 or more routes meet. You need to show them your reservation. They call the office to verify and then give you a bracelet.
