- SuperBroker20180 contributionsIn-depth and thorough, an amazing 3 hour walking tour! Our tour guide Nadia was one of the most excellent tour guides I've ever met. She is a historian and knows the history of Mexico and its important historical sites in such an in-depth and significant way. She spoke perfect English and always welcomed questions. The tour was spectacular in its breadth and scope. In 3 hours, we covered a lot of ground and saw some of the most important sites one could hope to see in CDMX. This tour was a highlight for sure and I can't recommend it enough. This is a great way to be introduced to Mexico's history and culture and along the way she also made suggestions about other places to check out and visit.Written September 28, 2024

- ericsD3979EY0 contributionsGreat Tour of the Historic Centre I highly recommend this tourGlenn is a very knowledgable, entertaining and experienced tour guide. His background: with a history degree, service in the navy and HR showed as he shared with us a lot of interesting history about the sites and current Halifax revitilation too. He was clear and the walking well paced so our group of 7 could hear and ask questions about the sites. The tour started on time and ended just as describe, there is a ton of history in Halifax; the port, war times the explosion, and imigration were all described and I later visited and explored some of these buildings in more depth with other tours. I highly recommend the tour and Glenn as the guide for a well priced great orientation to Halifax historic centre. Thank you Glenn - Cheers to HalifaxWritten September 25, 2024

We had a great Lucha Libre experience with Arturo as our guide. He was fun and informative. As a former luchador, he helped us to better understand the history, the showmanship, and the physical work involved in the sport. My husband, teenage daughter, and I all had a blast! It was a fun and very different sort of activity from our usual travel experiences, and I highly recommend.

Our guide was fantastic! The mezcal tasting was informative and fun, they had chips and guacamole and grasshoppers (or yummy bugs of some sort) to snack on during the tasting! Awesome! We walked several blocks to the arena which was enjoyable because I wouldn’t have really walked through that neighborhood otherwise, a nice glimpse of Mexico City you don’t really get as a tourist. We also got our own masks! The wrestling was.... totally wicked! Our seats were really good and the show (match?) was so entertaining and impressive! Those wrestlers are incredibly talented and in fabulous shape. Muscles!! Take this tour, you won’t regret it. It was my favorite activity I did while I was visiting CDMX.

What an amazing experience! After a long day of sightseeing and eating too many tacos, our group of four arrived a little low on energy. Arturo quickly lifted our spirits and was super patient and friendly throughout the night as the mezcal and beer flowed. We learned enough about the ins and outs of Lucha Libre that by the end of the night we were shouting and hollering our support for our respective rudo and tecnico teams.
Definitely a must do in Mexico City.

I booked this experience with a friend and we both really enjoyed our experience. We were very late to the beginning of the tour because we got our dates wrong but Arturo was very understanding and took the time to catch us up on anything we missed. He was extremely knowledgeable about Lucha Libre and open to us asking additional questions. The fight itself was also a lot of fun and we made a lot of new friends in the group we went with. I would definitely recommend others to book this tour since I believe going with a group is a lot more enjoyable and this one was very well organized and educational.

Wow, what a great day! Our guide Arturo was amazing, les us through everything in a way that was super fun, accessible and made sense to a group of 8 from all different parts of the world. He kept us moving and on track in a way that was safe, didn’t feel rushed and it was a great insight into a part of Mexico City history that I am 100% certain we wouldn’t have been able to make sense of without him. 5 out of 5, would definitely recommend the tour to anyone I know visiting Mexico City!

Arturo, our luchador tour guide was amazing! Good start of the evening was definitely with many different types of mezcal to pregame for the Lucha Libre wresting match. Arturo was very knowledgeable and supplied us with our own mask to take home!! The Lucha Libre match is NOT to be missed on your visit to Mexico City add a couple of Micheladas once you are at the arena to have the “Full” experience. One of the highlights of our trip!!!

+Excellent guide! An actual luchador, very knowledgeable and charismatic in presentation
+Mezcal tasting was superb. Not just downing shots but actually learning about its history, origin and production (+ some small suprises :))
+The lucha libre matches themselves were some of the best entertainment i had in a long time.
An overall great experience, a must see, especially given this price for what you get.

A really fun and entertaining evening with former luchador (lucha libre wrestler) Arturo who was enthusiastic, funny, and knowledgeable. We met the group in front of the Palacio de Belles Artes and then walked over to Mundana Mezcalería for the mezcal tasting. We were introduced to several varieties and also enjoyed snacks of guacamole and chips. A few of us do not drink a lot of alcohol usually so were able to sample and then discard the rest. Clean bathrooms available.
Next, we walked over to the Arena México, stopping a few times along the way to talk about the details of lucha libre. This was really helpful in understanding what we were about to watch. We also got to pick (and keep) our own lucha libre mask! Once we got to the arena, Arturo gave us the tickets to enter. Tip: A face mask is required to enter the arena. If you forget to bring one, then you can purchase one from the street vendor outside.
Once inside, we bought drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic available) that were dispensed in large plastic cups as bottles are prohibited to keep spectators from throwing them. Food is also sold by vendors in the aisles themselves. Bathrooms were fair. We sat together as a group several rows from the ring with Arturo in the middle, which was great for asking him questions and hearing the interpretations as the night went by. Afterwards, we got a group picture with our masks on and then headed home via rideshare/Uber.
Definitely do this tour with Arturo!

it was Dec 2018 that we took this tour but it is still one of the highlights of the month we spent in Mexico. Our tour guide was exceptional and the whole night from the tequila tasting to the wrestling was so much fun. Highly recommended

Arturo was an excellent guide! The trip was well organized and he obviously has a passion for Lucha Libre. The tasting was delicious and informative. Highly recommend this tour to anyone. Some of the group had children and they seemed to have a great time as well. During the mezcal tasting the kids had slushies where they got to choose their flavors.
I could have gone to a bar for mezcal and bought event tickets on my own for much less, but I think this tour was well worth the extra money for a better understanding of mezcal and definitely for a better understanding of the fighters and history. I enjoyed the event much more because of the tour with Arturo.

Hi! I bought tickets for 16 January. I currently booked it for two people however my dad used to be a Lucha Libre and I would like to bring him and his buddy. What is the best way to add them to the experience? As of now it looks like there is no more availability for the rest of January.

We are wanting to book a reservation for this service. how soon before the tour starts should we make reservations? we are arriving on thursday and want to see the friday night show. Thanks

We are arriving at the Mexico City airport on a Tuesday at 4:10PM. I'm worried that we will arrive too late to be able to see a show that night. What do you think?
Written October 14, 2019
If you’re doing this tour, I’d say no.
Our tour started at 530 pm w a short walking tour to mezcal tasting. After that, we walked to the arena and learned about the history of wrestling. If you miss out on this, you’re basically missing the service you paid for to learn about mezcal and wrestling.
Also, if you land at 4pm on a weekday, keep in mind you have to get through international customs, grab an Uber or taxi, and drive to downtown (if you’re skipping the hotel and gonna carry your stuff). We came on a weekend and it took 40 minutes to get to downtown without traffic. Weekday traffic is México city is insane and so I imagine it’ll take way longer to get to downtown. But if you’re just trying to make it to the wrestling matches and skip everything else, then you can probably make it to arena México. (But by that point, you should just buy the wrestling tickets yourself.)

Coming Friday October 4th with four guys. Are we able to get seats close to the ring?
Written September 22, 2019
Hi, you might be able to get sit in front row, but keep in mind that you are not going to be able to have the mezcal experience as well. If you want to sit in first row, you can also go to Arena Mexico maybe one or two days before the event and buy the tickets there, but if the event has a really important match on it, try to get the Tix before ... Saludos and enjoy it! ;)

Hi, for the Friday tour starting at 6:30, what time does it end? How long would it take us to make it to Roma ... we have a dinner reservation
For Sunday, it starts at 3:30, but how long does it last?
Is there a better day you would recommend between Friday and Sunday?
Thanks
