At the nearby Basilica de Guadalupe, your guide explains the importance of Guadalupe to Mexican history and culture. At Teotihuacan, the ancient “City of the Gods,” a guide is essential to provide context to the unmarked ruins and pyramids. Day out at Tula & Teotihuacan
Just fantastic on every level - pick up as arranged from our hotel at 08.00 and then a great day out was had. Our guide was a fount of knowledge and our drive was comfortable & safe - cannot recommend highly enough. 5 green spots stars is the maximum we can give, but it is honestly less than is deserved!

Bespoke Day Out in Mexico City
Excellent day out with our dapper and knowledgeable guide Sergio and driver Antonio picking us up from our hotel. Off to Xochimilco canals for a great laugh, the place teaming with vibrant colours and mad Mariachi bands in boats touting for tourists and worth every peso for the bonkers entertainment. Then whistled off to both Diego Rivera museum with awesome collection and architecture and Frida Kahlo Casa Azul with all its historic importance and beauty. Finished off with amazing street food in a Taqueria in a huge covered market. Delicious Tacos and beer. Everything to like!

Wonderful highlights of Mexico City, tough for people prone to motion sickness
As other reviews have said the views were wonderful and it was a great way to see a lot of special areas/highlights of the region. Bring pesos so you can use the bathrooms at any of the stops! However if you are prone to motion sickness this bus + canoe ride might not be for you, especially given how congested traffic is leading to a lot of start/stop driving (not the driver’s fault but a reality of the experience). Also be prepared to have people trying to sell you something everywhere you look, including on the boat ride. The booking says the tour finishes at 3:30 pm but we didn’t get dropped off until 5:30, so just be aware it’s quite a long day.

A delightful and stress-free way to visit the south of the city
We spent a large part of a day touring Xochimilco, Coyoacán, the Diego Rivera and Frieda Kahlo Museum with Carlos and it was wonderful. The day started with Carlos and a driver meeting us in the lobby of our hotel and from there, we knew we were in good hands. Carlos has a wealth of knowledge — he was insightful, kind and funny.

So good that we did the tour again!
I did the Teotihuacan and Tula tour in October with Sergio, one of Freelance's guides. He is an absolutely phenomenal guide! So knowledge, kind, and funny. My great aunt came and he catered the tour to suit our different capacities, scheduling in rests and modifying the route when needed. We had such a good experience that when the rest of my family came a few weeks later, I booked the same tour again with Sergio. He is one of the best guides ever!

Take this amazing day to enrich your life!!!
We can’t say enough about our day and our tour guide and our driver. The tour was so much more than what we were expecting and really appreciated the knowledge, enjoyment and ease of the activity-packed day. They were very patient and catered to us all and we had a 10 year old with us. They related the information so well in Spanish and English. My son and we loved every single minute of the tour. Thank you!!!!

        Detailed, informative and lovely trip
Ramon was our guide. He provided a continuous and detailed running commentary throughout the trip. We got a ton of local context and history that we would not have gotten otherwise. The entire trip took about 11 hours including the trip to/from. Covered Pueblo, Cholula and Tonanzintla.

Had a great time! Doing a private tour was definitely worth it! Our guide was super knowledgeable and our driver was always there on time when we needed him! We enjoyed walking and learning about the pyramids and got some great shots! We also learned about the obsidian mines before lunch, yes it’s probably a tourist trap but we really enjoyed it and even purchased two pieces. I like that they gave us certificates with our purchase authenticating the obsidian. Also, the lunch spot we went to had a view of the pyramids!!! We finished the day at the Guadalupe Shrine and it was breathtaking and I learned so much about the culture and religion of the indigenous and the Mexican people. Thank you!

Veronica (our guide) and Luis (driver) took great care of us.
They arrive early in the morning at the hotel for pickup. Veronica is very knowledgeable. We spent all day with her and she took time explaining the history of Mexico and places we visited. This private tour is really worth the money as we get to see Teotihuacan and the Basilica de Guadalupe with great lunch in between. One of our family member forgot a photo print in the van when we ended out tour. They managed to drop off the photo at our hotel the next day. We really appreciate their service and honesty. Highly recommend.

Our trip to the pyramids and the Shrine of Guadalupe was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico.
Carlos our guide was amiable, professional and a wealth of knowledge. Luis the driver
Was equally professional and pleasant .
Choosing this early morning time if 9am was perfect because there were less crowds in the Pyramids.

I can not recommend this tour enough!

      The People/Tour Company:
Our driver was Arturo (and he was a very skilled / professional driver) but Luigi (our tour guide) really stole the show. Luigi has been doing this for many years - and it showed. He has perfected the art of giving tours. They arrived right on time at 9am to pick us up from our airbnb. We ended up having to change to a larger vehicle last minute because we had someone else that wanted to come, and they were able to accommodate. Whatsapp chat is a great way to get in contact with them. Also, they had already taken care of all of the tolls/gas/admission prices so we didn't have to worry about tickets or any of that.

      The Tour:
We first went to Teotihuacan and spent a few hours there. Luigi took us around and imparted a plethora of meaningful and interesting wisdom. He answered all of our questions and made us feel at ease. He also gave us time to roam on our own, which was great. It was a very beautiful, spiritual stop that I highly recommend.

After this tour we went to a delicious lunch with a rooftop view of the pyramids and several cultural performances. We weren't expecting that and really enjoyed it. We ended up getting back to the airbnb later than expected because we hadn't accounted for the longer lunch, but it was definitely worth it and we were glad for a break to sit down and have drinks/food.

Following lunch (right outside of the restaurant) there was a brief (but interesting) tour by a local tour guide / artist. She showed us how various plants and minerals are used for art and other uses in this region. We had a chance to walk around the store there and shop a bit. We even got to taste some local tequilas.

Lastly, we stopped at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Luigi knew a lot about this, as well. He answered our questions and explained the history of the place. He gave us time to spend alone, as well.

We really enjoyed this tour. Would definitely book them again for another tour the next time we're in Mexico. They have several options.

Great experience, would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Mexico City who prefers to do a private tour over a group. Veronica was very professional and kind. She shared so many interesting historical/cultural facts, made us feel comfortable the whole time, and took some great photos for us. We booked the 8am slot and definitely recommend going no later than that. We were able to get to the pyramids before the crowd and get back into CDMX before the traffic got too bad. They provided a few water bottles for free which was great. My only tip for improvement would be the lunch we had in Teotihuacan (it was a little bland), but this was made up for by the view (you can see both pyramids!) and fun vibes of the rooftop.

      Carlos our Guide was excellent.

Pick up on time, Tour well arranged, including Lunch and travel with clean car, including drinking water for the trip and good driver who made sure Carlos could concentrate on giving us the answers to all question asked.

We clearly could experience how well Carlos knew all the historical elements of both the Azteken and Teotihuacan culture and History.
Highly recommend this guide and the trip to all of you who want to understand a bit more of the Mexican History.

It was my first time getting a private tour, and I recommend Mexico Tour Freelance services. The interaction with the operator is simple and easy (I highly recommend installing WhatsApp on your phone).
Our guide, Bruno, was an expert in Mexican history and explained to us in detail the pre-Hispanic part and 20th-century history (this one at our request). The tour to Teotihuacan was impressive. Bruno showed and explained to us all the highlights of the pyramids allowing us time to take photos and ask questions.
The tour included lunch at a great place where we tried pulque and tequila and learned about maguey.
In the afternoon, we visited Villa Guadalupe and the magnificent shrine. Our guide showed us all the buildings that are part of the shrine and answered our questions.
Our driver Carlos was spectacular and very friendly.
During the entire day, we never felt rushed and saw everything at our pace.

Make sure you book this tour with Veronica! She was knowledgeable and super friendly...very thorough at answering all the questions we had! We saw so many historic landmarks and Veronica educated us each step of the way. You can sense her passion and we appreciate her enthusiasm throughout the tour. She was the absolute best!

This tour is a great way to get a full day of learning about the rich history of the Teotihuacan and the old/new church of Santa Maria de Guadalupe. The Tlatelolco was just a nice bonus. A MUST DO if you are in Mexico City...we had no idea going in the tour just how deep and fascinating the culture and history are here.

Side note: we are glad we did the tour too BEFORE going to the anthropology museum...the museum ties everything you learn and see on the tour together with the artifacts and statues you will see and read about.

Carlos and Christian are an amazing tour guide duo for Mexico City and its surrounding historic sites. As we left Mexico City, we started our day at the El Angel sculpture, stopped by the Palacio de Bellas Artes, glimpsed a view of the Catedral Metropolitana, and visited the Tlatelolco archaeological site.

The tour of Teotihuacan was very educational and interesting, between the pyramids of the Sun and Moon and learning of the migration of people from the Mayans to the Aztecs. The drive to and from the pyramids was smooth, and we had time to stop for lunch at La Higuera before heading to the Basilica de Guadalupe. We marveled at Our Lady of Guadalupe and the vastness of the church, along with visiting the myriad of other churches in the vicinity.

Throughout our trip, Carlos shared his vast knowledge through captivating storytelling, and even joked with us about US idiosyncrasies. He was an immaculate host, and Christian was incredible behind the wheel. We hope we get to do another tour with these two in the near future!

I can't say enough good things about this tour and our guide, Veronica, and our driver, Tony. We were very fortunate to get the same guide for 2 days in a row. Veronica was just terrific. Can't say enough good things about her. She went over and above to accommodate us since we were both walking with canes. She taught us things about Mexican history, modern Mexico City, and the sites we signed up for. We learned and experienced so much, I just can't say enough good things. If you're pondering a private tour or not, believe me, this was so well worth the extra price. AND, if you are fortunate enough to get Veronica, you will be very thankful.
