      Enjoyable tour with fun host
This tour took about 6 of us to a variety of Polanco area restaurants for soup, tacos and other tasty treats including desserts. The guide was fun and informative and food tours are a great way to bring people together for a fun time. Highly recommend.

      Palanco Food Tour
We very much enjoyed the variety of food and drink that we tasted. Definitely plan to arrive a little bit hungry because you will be quite full by the end. So while the food was great, our guide was average and below par compared to other food tours we have taken in other cities. Perhaps she was tired, shy or just inexperienced. So while she did give some information about the foods we were served, she could have told us much more about Mexico history, culture, and foods. There was a lot of down time where on our other tours we were provided extensive information about the foods, history and culture of the city/country. Additionally, she did no know the name of a version of a dried chili pepper - but said she would get back to us and never did. At the end she was in a hurry to leave because her ride was "waiting for her". So all in all not sure I would recommend this tour.

Can't wait to do it again!!!
I'm a HUGE Food Tour fan!!! So going on a tour with Mexican Food Tours was a perfect addition to my recent trip. We had seven tastings and they were all DELICIOUS! Our guide, Viry, was so kind and knowledgeable. She added to all the fun we were having in México City. Without this tour, I don't know if I would have discovered some of the foods that add to the richness of México. It was such an educational experience too. The facts we learned about the restaurants, the food, the area, and the country, really gave me more reasons to want to return and learn more. I was also so stuffed from this tour that I only ate some of a salad later that evening for dinner. So if you do this tour, please come hungry! You will need every inch (centimeter) of your stomach for this AMAZING food!

      Polanco foodies tour
Our guide was very informative, knows her stuff and offered tips on how we could reproduce Mexican meals at home. She explained the art of making tortillas that dont just crumble in your hands. The food was excellent in each restaurant, albeit these were simple meals, not haut cuisine. I higly recommend this tour. Polanco is a lovely little town inside giant Mexico City.

      BASIC intro to Mexican food
Let me start by saying that the guides were sweet and did a nice job in getting us from place to place. And if you have never had Mexican food before, this would probably be a great tour. But if you HAVE had tacos, churros and ice cream, you’ll be dissapointed. Because that’s all it was. The schedule of food was chilaquiles, tacos, tacos, tacos, ice cream and churros. We would have definitely been better off picking a nice restaurant and ordering a bunch of things off the menu and having the waiter walk us through all of them. I’m not trying to be mean or spiteful. Just truthful so others don’t find themselves out a couple hundred dollars expecting something more.

Friendly introduction to Mexican food and mezcal culture
Excellent introduction to the world of tacos and mezcal. The guide is friendly and knowledgeable and the walking between venues is limited. The tour is in the upmarket and safe Polanco district, very close to Polanco metro station. I could have kept going all afternoon - every stop was delicious!

      Plan to come hungry.
This is a good food experience for those who would like to taste different flavors of Mexico. There was an interesting contrast between some upscale restaurants, and some sidewalk food vendors. Our hostess was delightful, and quite informative. All was delicious. There is a lot of food, so plan to come hungry and pace yourself.

Great experience with a local guide!
The tour was amazing and our guide was great! My husband and I dont speak spanish very well so our guide explained everything extremely well in english. She took us to some great taco spots. The third spot I think was the best because it was a place we would have walked by originally but had the BEST lengua tacos. The mezcal tasting at the end was great and our guide was very informative about the different types of mezcals. Overall it was a great tour and it was nice connecting with a local and learning kore about Mexico City culture, history, and food.

Eating our Way Through Polanco with Viri!
We took the Polanco Food Tour with Viri through Viator. Viri was awesome - we wound up visiting seven different restaurants, all with different but delicious approaches to Mexican food. It was actually very nice to have short walks in between each restaurant, both because it gave us a chance to regain our appetites and because we had a chance to just chat about anything and everything. Viri is not just a great guide but also a chef herself, so we got an insider’s thoughts on the food scene in CDMX. Loved the whole experience and highly recommend!

So much fun! A great way to experience Polanco.
This was so much fun! It was like experiencing a week’s worth of restaurants in one day. Viry was a great guide too, and paved a good path for us to see the neighborhood without it being too overwhelming. It was flexible enough for my dietary needs. Highly recommended!

      Finding incredible Food in Polanco
This is the perfect way to get your food bearings in the Polanco Neighborhood. Viri was amazing, she is super knowledgeable on Mexican cuisine and all the incredible dishes on the tour. She also gave us other taquerias to try during our stay in Mexico City, which turned out to be incredible.

5 out of 5 tacos for this tour!
Awesome tour with Viry! My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the tour so we received an amazing private tour! Viry was so friendly and knowledgeable not just about tacos but all things food and Mexico history related. We learned so much and ate so many different things. The mezcal was also delicious! Would recommend this tour to a friend. We’ll be back!

I booked this because of the high number of reviews but was terribly disappointed in the poor value and unprofessional experience. The food could not have cost the chef more than $10 for the 6 of us, We each got a tiny piece of chicken, 1 tiny taco and 2 cheap as tamales. The drink was a blended mango with some week old mint leaves, She didn't even have 6 matching plates or glasses for the guests. Cooking in a dim kitchen in a tiny apartment that is not big enough for everyone to participate is a joke. Nothing chef about and having to eat poor family food.

After a less-than-stellar tour with MFT on our first day, I was hesitant to sign up for another event, but Chef Eduardo made this experience so worthwhile. Eduardo himself is incredibly charismatic and knowledgable, he cultivated a fun and educational hands-on experience in the market and kitchen, and the resulting meal at the end was simply phenomenal. I wish I had done this tour our first day so that I could have navigated Mexico City with a greater appreciation for what has gone into the food that I ate throughout my stay. I will certainly seek to work with Eduardo again in the future.

A friend and I joined 4 others for a market tour and cooking experience with Eduardo. Eduardo is an extremely well trained chef who has a great manner and sense of humor. He showed us how to select ingredients and explained some food traditions at the market. He was great at assigning and managing tasks for 3 complex recipes at the same time. He showed us some techniques (knife skills, tortilla making and searing chicken) and how to make mole. In the end, we had a delicious 3 course meal of vegan tacos on home made tortillas, a bean soup and chicken mole. The items were expertly plated by Eduardo. I highly recommend this class. I'm a pretty novice cook and my friend has much more expertise. We both loved it!

We had an amazing time with Chef Eduardo Landa on our cooking class experience. His expertise was second to none! We made the most delicious food that we had in Mexico overall. He was an extremely professional chef and curated a menu to our needs (specifically me who is pescatarian). I was truly sad to leave at the end of the experience. I highly highly highly recommend this experience!!!

We've done quite a few cooking classes in multiple countries. After having this recommended to us by friends giving it rave reviews, we had to try. Chef Eduardo is so knowledgable about Mexican cuisine and cooking in general. His guided tour through the market was so fun and informative and he gave us great recommendations of where to get the best snacks during our break on the tour.

Once back at the house, we divided and conquered the various tasks needed to prepare our meal. In the end, we had a 3 - course meal plated by Chef Eduardo that looked like we were dining in a Michelin star restaurant and tasted like it too!

If you are in CDMX, this is a must!

Eduardo is a humorous, warm, and phenomenal chef. He welcomed Chris and I in like family. This class was way more than I ever expected. We started off with Eduardo leading us to the market. There he guided us on how to select certain items for the recipes we were making. I learned a lot that I can take home for my own recipes! He even graciously recommended a couple places where we could get fresh juice and gorditas. Those gorditas were the BEST I’ve ever had, what a treat. We then came back to the apartment to start our cooking prep. We all worked so effortlessly together even in the intimate space. We learned how to cook chiles for burnt salsa, press fresh tortillas, the secret to mole and so, so much more. The end presentation of the food, the service and flavors were out of this world. Eduardo had previously stated that his customers come in as strangers and leave as friends, but I feel you leave more like family. Next time I’m in Mexico City I will be looking for another class with Chef Eduardo!

Met Éren in front of the building of instructed. Went on a short-trip to the market to get fresh produce, chile, chicken (no one was vegetarian in our party) and we returned to a beautiful kitchen.

The experience Éren guided us through was sublime. While we peeled, crushed, chopped, or pressed to prepare ingredients, she gave us thoughtful context of each ingredient. She beautifully timed her own preparation for us to seamlessly get from one step to the next of preparing multiple dishes. We were just there as a couple but we ended up able to make and enjoy tangerine juice, a taco and sope each, a savory and sweet tamal with salsa macha + moles (both sauces),

I expect with a larger group that the recipes/program will have to be modified but the expertise, thoughtfulness of the recipes, and hospitality will surely carry over. The highlight of our trip to CDMX!

If you're hesitating at all, stop waiting and book this cooking class. It is expensive...but in the USA, just the meal you get would probably cost $80, let alone the three hours of expert cooking instruction. Eduardo will be a Michelin Star chef someday. Book this class.

One of the highlights of our trip to CDMX was meeting Chef Eren Velasquez and learning how to cook Aztec dishes. She showed around a market learning about indigenous ingredients and purchasing ingredients for our cooking lessons. We then went to a private home and experienced cooking at a typical Mexican kitchen. Which was truly an amazing experience in itself too. I highly recommend everyone to go outside the box of travel and get to know local cuisine through the eyes of local people. Thank you Eren for truly an unforgettable experience. I hope to see you again. Keep in touch.

Chef Eduardo was a great teacher and super fun to cook with. He helped us to better understand Mexican cuisine and also level up our cooking skills. He is a master of his craft and a really great guy to hang out with during our time at the market and in the class. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the city who loves food!
