Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 123tamannap0 contributionsUnforgettable Historic Center Food Tour with Sabores MexicoI can’t say enough about the food tour with Sabores Mexico! This is my second tour with them and it was fabulous! We were a big group of 9 people and chose the Historic Center Food Tour with Sabores. Josette was our guide and she felt like part of the family. Booking and confirming details (including dietary restrictions) was smooth and very easy as the staff at Sabores was very communicative leading up to our food tour. Josette was a fantastic guide- very knowledgeable, accommodating and fun to do this tour with! She ensured we had a great time (and we really did) and had the best variation of what this part of CDMX had to offer. I would definitely choose them for a third tour next time I’m back in CDMX!Written February 16, 2025
- Adele T0 contributionsLike no other!Tamara led us on a 5 hour gastronomical tour d’force! History, stories (funny, sad, scary and romantic) were laced with amazing local foods! We never would have found the eateries or tried the specialties of the house without her guidance. The offerings were not just little Costco size bites, either. I can’t say which was my favorite, but the cantina was amazing and the drinks were such surprises! Would recommend this tour to anybody willing to try the taste of Mexico City’s best with our now favorite guide!Written February 16, 2025
- Eljones80 contributionsFun tour in Mexico CityTania was a great guide on our private tour. She was friendly, fun, and gave us a lot of great information about history and the city. We visited a great variety of restaurants, a market and even a bar. Highly recommend as a great way to get to know the Centro area of Mexico City.Written February 16, 2025
- Mike G0 contributionsTamara was knowledgeable, fun, and fluent in English. Very knowledgeable about history and various foods. Only 10 personTamara was our guide. - PatC890 contributionsExplore food in centro.Great way to explore both food and the area of centro. Our guide, Jimene, was cheerful and very informative. We love exploring local foods and this tour did a good job. We especially like the exploration of the Mercado de San Juan.Written February 15, 2025
- MikeBirdman0 contributionsFantastic evening tour with wonderful tacosWhat a fantastic tour. Wonderfully organized. There were ten of us on the tour and we went to 5 tamarins and one place to taste mezcal. There was a bus that took us around and we were each given a guide pamphlet that explained all about tacos and the places we visited and other recommended taco places along with how to eat a taco. The guide Louisa was amazing, informative, friendly, helpful. One of the places we went had won a Michelin star! The tacos were each different we typically had two at each stop and i was completely full over the 3.5 hours of the tour. At the mezcal place which was nice and quiet we tried three different mezcals and then had a mezcal cocktail which was the best drink part. Great way to experience some of the typical culture with lots of locals.Written February 15, 2025
- F9584ZDmarkc0 contributionsDon't miss visiting these food gems of CDMX!We were in a large group of 12, including our guide Jimena. We ate at 2 restaurants, 1 cantina, 2 food stalls and 1 fruit/vegetable stand inside a market, 1 street vendor, and 1 candy store. The foods were all authentic Mexican, and a few were quite exotic. Several of the locales are historical. At the end of the tour, we were full, satisfied, and learned much from Jimena about the importance of Mexican agricultural contributions and its delightful cuisine.Written February 14, 2025
- Jane P0 contributionsMust doKiomi took us on a wonderful adventure of food and history of Mexico City. Her knowledge of her city was extensive and she was so easy to chat and relate to. We experienced a wide range of foods and drinks which gave us a unique sense of Mexican culture. Highly recommend this tourWritten February 13, 2025
- Jasmyne290 contributionsA FeastJoss was a lovely guide who kept the tour perfectly paced, took excellent group photos, and went out of her way to help us with a couple of purchases in the market. We managed to eat an impressive amount without being too exhausted or too fullWritten February 12, 2025
- womanofwrld0 contributionsInteresting tourKiomi our guide was so knowledgeable. As learned a lot about the food and history of Mexico City. I’m only giving 4 as I did not care for most of the food. It was not user friendly and more on the exotic. The Roma tour was much better food wise. I also think that there could be smaller portions so that the price could go down. One can’t possible eat all of this food and I hate to waste.Written February 11, 2025
- charsimone0 contributionsGreat food tour highly recommendI loved this food tour. We visited 7 places to try a wide variety of traditional Mexican foods. Akimba was an excellent guide. She walked reasonably and gave an interesting history of the area.Written February 11, 2025
- Freedom322314239660 contributionsAn unforgettable food tour experience! This food tour exceeded all expectations! We got to taste a great variety of delicious Mexican food and drink, and our guide, Jimena, was absolutely amazing. She shared her knowledge with us in an engaging way and took us to hidden gems we would never have found on our own. It felt more like being out with a friend than on a guided tour, and the conversations along the way made the experience even better. Highly recommended!Written February 11, 2025
- W8215KHcharlesb0 contributionsGreat Food Tour!I loved this food tour! It was the first one I have ever been on, and five hours seemed like it would a bit much. I was so wrong. Josett was wonderful at explaining the history of the food, and the variety was fantastic. I do not like seafood, so I was worried about that part of the tour. But even the seafood was delicious. The only thing I would change is to book the tour at the beginning of our stay, rather than at the end. But even so, I absolutely loved the experience.Written February 10, 2025

We went on the Colonia Food Tour with a group of nine, and it was a fantastic experience! Our guide, Johanna, did an excellent job of keeping us together while providing insightful commentary about the neighborhood, the restaurants we visited, and their unique culinary perspectives. The tour is a great way to sample dishes from a variety of restaurants while also learning about the history of the Roma Norte neighborhood. I highly recommend this tour—Mexico City is vast, and the dining options are endless, so this is a perfect way to explore its incredible food scene!

This food tour couldn't have been nicer. Our group of 13 met our guide (Enya) at the first restaurant, and over the next 4 hours we went to 6 different locations for a total of 13 tastings. There were a wide range of food offerings, and the tour was able to make accommodations for food allergies and vegetarian tastes. Enya was fantastic. She was so personable and welcoming and knowledgeable about all of the food offerings and the restaurants that we visited. We were given a map of all the places that we visited and suggestions for other 'points of interest" in the Roma Norte area were provided. Enya also provided some historical context of the area and information about the different types of building architecture. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the diverse food offerings of Mexico.

The Colonia Roma Food tour with Stephanie was nothing short of AMAZING! We visited 6 places, tried over 10 different dishes and 5 drinks, everything delicious, unique and beautifully presented. Stephanie, who also is an architecture buff, also gave us stops along the way to appreciate the architecture of Mexico City and shared history and facts about the food and restaurants. We were 5 ladies on a girl’s trip, and the group was only 10 people total. It’s such a well designed tour, with a wonderful tour guide. Highly recommend!!!

My friend and I did this 4h food tour today. Our guide, Stephanie, was excellent! She explained what was special about each of the dish we ate, something about the owners of the places we went to, and some history about the architecture of a few buildings on our route. The pace of the tour was relaxed. We went to Tres Galeones (my favorite with excellent Taco carnitas de pescado & sopesito de camarón), Café de Raíz (3 different types of tamales, tamale de arroz was the best) , La pitahaya vegana (unbelievable how good their vegan version of el pastor was as well as the cauliflower taco), Broka bistrot (aguachile and a beef on cream of potato dish that I didn’t have), Mux (drink was Atol de elote, and our dishes were chips and salsa, green mole and a tétela; each dish very enjoyable) and the last stop was Cafe Barajas (excellent traditional hot coffee, café de olla with cinnamon, anise, clove, piloncillo and a cold brew with rum and passion fruit; others in my group had hot chocolate). The food at every place was delicious! Highly recommend the tour.

This food tour with Stephanie was incredible. We were guided through multiple courses of delicious dishes made by a variety of local chefs in restaurants located throughout the neighbourhood. Stephanie regaled us with her knowledge of history and architecture during our brief but brisk walks from location to location. This tour is an excellent way to become acquainted with lesser known Mexican dishes (mexicain cuisine is designated a cultural treasure by UNESCO) that you wouldn’t know to try or even when to try. The tour finished with a delicious coffee tasting at a local cafeteria with a knowledgeable barista.
The vibe of the tour is easy-going and Stephanie had no issue adjusting as we went along based on people’s preferences. She even managed to navigate with a guest who is intolerant to cilantro (which is saying something). Overall 11/10 would recommend (especially with Stephanie as your guide) to anyone looking for an introduction to Mexican food.

A highpoint of our visit to Mexico City was the 3-hour walking food tour of the City’s beautiful and historic Colonia Roma neighborhood. One of several food tours run by “Sabores Mexico Food Tours,” it included a half dozen highly varied Mexican restaurants over a walk of about 1.5 miles. The restaurants ranged from simple, informal, and almost rustic, to sophisticated, chic and polished; but the food and drink was excellent in all. The food also covered several regions of Mexico and multiple historical epochs (pre-Columbian to very contemporary).
But what made the experiences extra special was the young woman, Stephanie, who guided us from destination to destination and kept us great company as we ate and drank. Stephanie not only could share detailed information and insights about the ingredients and preparation of each dish, she also used her iPad to show fascinating photos of the people and history of Colonia Roma, and the dishes. She was equally adept at explaining the various regions and states of Mexico where the dishes originated and how much they differed from each other. Finally, and most enjoyably for my wife and me, she is a professional architect, stopping at numerous buildings along the way to discuss architectural styles (several fabulous examples of Art Nouveau!) and the history of how the community’s style and feel evolved.

We did the food tasting tour of the Roma neighborhood with Alma as our guide. We got to try 6 different spots with multiple items at each stop on the tour. We really enjoyed that Alma knew a lot about the history of the neighborhood and had a ton of really interesting facts about all the different things we tried. The tour was nice because we got a really good variety of types of Mexican food from traditional to contemporary. We even asked Alma about our plans for the rest of our trip and she was really happy to give tips and suggestions from a local’s perspective. Would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting CDMX and looking to explore food items beyond tacos, with a helpful guide to help you along

Top notch tour to get to know the culture, history and anthropology of food in the Roma district. Enjoyed every morsel of food we ate, and the restaurants were all carefully chosen for their stories and connection to a slightly different part of the bigger story of Mexican food. Joseph was a really knowledgable, really personable, excellent guide at the top of his game. Everyone on the group had a lovely experience and left with more curiosity about Mexican food and culture. I’d give this one an extra star if I could.

This food tour was fantastic! Our guide, Stefany, was knowledgeable both about food and the local architecture, which made the tour that much more enjoyable. I got a broad understanding of the cuisine available in Roma, a bit of history and art info, and ate incredible food. The full menu at each spot looked so good, that it was hard to decide where I'd go back to during the balance of my trip in Mexico City, but I did make it back to one, where I stuffed myself with many tacos and tostadas. Highly recommend this tour and any other tour with Stefany!
I will also note that as someone with food allergies, I felt very comfortable in Stefany's hands. She worked with the kitchens at each restaurant to help me navigate all of the dishes, double-checking ingredients, and even securing me a special dish at one restaurant to help make up for another that couldn't be adjusted to accommodate my needs. Truly a wonderful experience!

Stephanie was our guide, and she was so knowledgeable and passionate about the city and the food, and very attentive to people in the group with food allergies. She gave great descriptions about the food we ate, and her love for the city was infectious. The food was delicious, and I would definitely book another tour with her again.
