We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Jimena as our tour guide and the two families who joined us, as well as Enya! The afternoon flowed perfectly from a Oaxacan restaurant to Mercado San Juan and several cantinas, ending with a perfect candy stop. We highly recommend this tour for all visiting Mexico City for all its culinary and cultural delights! Jimena taught us lots about the culinary local history as well as cultural local history! A perfect afternoon in the Centro neighborhood. We tried so many different foods and were very satisfied at the end. Muchas Gracias!

If you want to taste fantastic and traditional Mexican food then try this 5 hour tour! You won’t regret it! From the beginning to to the end our guide Rodrigo presented us to the most delicious Mexican food and simultaneously told us about the history behind the food shop - how the food has developed throughout the years and how it is made. You also get a tour around the historical part of Mexico City, and get to see places you wouldn’t see on your own. Rodrigo is a fantastic guide who tell’s you stories with a great passion. He is from the area and is very open minded. We can not recommend this tour too much. Thank you!

Kiomi was an excellent guide. She is trained in culinary and was able to answer any questions we had along the excellent food tour. I mentioned that I am interested in architecture so she also took time to point out important buildings along the way. The food was a nice mix of interesting and excellent. My entire group was pleasantly surprised and I highly recommend her.

Anna was very charming and was knowledgeable about the cuisines of all the regions of Mexico. Anna also provided some very interesting information on the culture and architecture of Mexico City.
However, some of the food was quiet unremarkable at Delicatessen La Gourmet, where we had under seasoned cheese and pork on bread and at La Mascota Cantina, where I had a rather unpleasant Chicharrón (slimy pork skin dish) and a margarita that was almost free of any tequila. The establishment resembled an English pub from about 30 years ago.
The highlight of the tour was the visit to Mata Comedor which had modern innovative interpretations of Mexico City local dishes including a delicious corn, beetroot and goat cheese salad and a wonderful mescal based mango and orange cocktail. The final stop was Dulceria de Celaya which was very crowded and had rather unsophisticated and disproportionately large pastries which looked rather similar to Greggs (mass market British pastry franchise)

Overall a good tour but, lose some of the average places especially La Mascata Cantina and replace with a good taqueria serving Al Pastor.

This is the best way to get a crash course in Mexico City cuisine. I did the Spanish tour with Majo who did an incredible job supplementing knowledge about each dish with Mexico City history as we walked between locations. Each item of food was divine, the torta was my favorite, but the best 5 hours I spent in my time in the city

Fun, fact-filled, fascinating tour. My tour guide Laura is extremely knowledgeable not only in the history of Mexico City but in the country’s different regional cuisines. Laura is also is professional yet laid-back & accommodating - felt like I was visiting with a friend.

You must take this tour!! My husband and I travel quite a bit and will usually find a food tour early on our trip. It is a great introduction to a city. Not only do you learn about the food, but also the guides usually teach you the history of the local area. This has to be the best food tour I have booked. Laura was our guide. She is very knowledgeable regarding food in general as she has her degree in it, plus she knows the area and the history of the city. Don't eat breakfast because you will be offered so much food. At each location you are basically given a meal each time and at several, even an alcoholic beverage. Trust me, you will enjoy this tour. It lasted almost 5hrs and we walked about 4 miles. Nice pace, great food, and I learned a lot of Mexican history.

We had a great day in the historical Center of Mexico City with a group of 4 friends. The five-hour long tour took us across Mexico city's varied culinary landscape. From Oaxaca's Mole to insects on the market, from strong Mescal shots to delicious cocktails. And most importantly, we had an amazing guide (thanks Laura!). In perfect English, she told us everything we wanted to know about Mexico's history and gastronomy. 10/10 would recommend

Our Historic Center Food Tour with Rodrigo was excellent! We only had one full day in Mexico City, and this was the perfect way to spend it. We got to try food at eight different places, as well as some cocktails. Rodrigo was very knowledgeable about the history of each restaurant we visited & he also gave us a tour of the historic center, including a detailed history of the city and various landmarks along the way. I highly recommend this tour.

A really fun and high quality tour. We got a chance to try foods we never would have known even existed, explore an interesting part of the city, and get first-hand knowledge from our guide Maria Jose. Maria was an amazingly fun and knowledgeable guide, answered all of our questions, and kept us both laughing and wanting more food. This tour was a highlight of my visit to Mexico City.
