Overview

Beat the crowds and the midday heat on an early morning tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids from Mexico City. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the pre-Mayan archaeological wonder will come alive with your guide’s narration. Enjoy the early morning tranquility of ancient pyramids and temples, or chose an afternoon departure to see the site in a different light. Plus, your tour includes a visit to an obsidian workshop and a mezcal-tasting session.

What to Expect

The trip begins with pickup from one of two central meeting points in Mexico City (your choice upon checkout) during the early morning or afternoon, depending on which tour you choose. There you’ll board a bus destined for the Teotihuacan Pyramids.

On the morning tour, you’ll be one of the first to enter the archaeological site. On either morning or afternoon tour, a private archaeologist will expand on the pre-Mayan history of highlights such as the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and Avenue of the Dead.

Ascend to the summit of the Sun Pyramid and Moon Pyramid for panoramic views of the site before returning to the coach to travel to an obsidian workshop, where you’ll interact with a local family and sample liqueurs made from cacti.

Stop for a Mexican food (own expense) before returning to the central meeting point in Mexico City.

Our tour guide was wonderful. We arrived at the pyramids around 8:30 am and the temperature was prefect . We had enough time to climb up the sun & moon pyramid. Remember to bring enough water , waking under the sun is tiring and dehydrating...More

Nothing specific, no. I think it's advisable to bring something to cover your head because there is no shade at all there, but that is for your own safety rather than a dress code.
