- Luxury1Georgia0 contributionsIncredible Multi-day TourWhen planning to visit Guadalajara, I contacted Andares de Mexico to arrange a multi-day private tour for my family. During the planning process, Ivonne could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable, or courteous. I was interested in visiting a specific distillery in Tequila and Ivonne was more than happy to arrange this portion of the tour too. We based ourselves in Guadalajara and took tours over several days from this location - City Tour, Tonala and Tlaquepaque, Chapala, and Tequila. Our tour guide, Ricardo Izaguirre, was just incredible. Ricardo was so knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel so welcomed to his city. I cannot say enough good things about Ricardo - just an excellent guide. When visiting Guadalajara, I would not hesitate to book tours with Andares de Mexico.Written March 30, 2019

- Rhetwick B0 contributionsAbsolutely the best tour experience! Thanks to Jesus for helping us get the most out of our trip to guadalajara! He was prompt and very knowledgeable about the culture and history of the area. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed his company and he provided fantastic recommendations for other things to do. We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to book with Jesus. I highly recommend his tour services and look forward to seeing him again next time we return to GDL.Written January 25, 2017

- Monica R0 contributionsPrivate tour to GuachimontonesWe experienced an amazing historical tour to the Pyramids in Guachimontones. Our guide Jorge Flores was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and made our tour a great experience - most especially for our children (16, 14, 12 & 11). The Pyramids which date back 2000 years ago are truly a sight not to miss when visiting the Guadalajara area. The hour drive from the city is well worth the time. Jorge knew the perfect stops to make for our day trip - sombrero shop for our day in the sun, hand made crafts made from volcanic rock, and museums that gave us just the right amount of information and history before hiking to the Pyramids. Our day ended with a delicious lunch al fresco by the lake just outside Guachimontones. We hope to return for Jorge to guide us for a tour of Tequila our next trip. Also our driver was most excellent and bus very clean and comfortable.Written December 21, 2016
- Ceylonbloke0 contributionsGreat ExperienceJesus was simply awesome... He was there to pick us up from the Guadalajara airport. He is very knowledgeable and for my family he was so helpful as we could not understand Spanish. Jesus is excellent in English and he also helped us to find good eating places and also to change our currency. He was so helpful and we really enjoyed his tour. Our trip was shot because we were on a 7 hour layover in Guadalajara in-route to Cancun. We will definitely come back for a longer trip. Thanks Jesus for your great hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in GuadalajaraWritten December 15, 2016

We went here on a whim at Sunday at noon, even though we thought C19 would likely have probably canceled the rodeo/charraria portion. Indeed the charraria wasn't in full swing but Jesus was there with his horse, rope, cattle, and traditional outfit to show us the charro traditions. We learned to rope and even faced off with a cow! We loved hearing more about the spirit of the Chararria and love that we could partake...in some ways having a small group and quality time with los charros without the crowds may be even better. Highly recommend this cultural experience--full charreria or not!

What an amazing experience! The charros gave us such an amazing time, and we felt like family while they taught us all about their cultures and traditions. All the while we were able to join in on those traditions and be invited into something so beautifully intimate! If you are thinking of visiting and spending time with these charros I could think of nothing more amazing for you to do with your trip. Music and laughs and love, don’t be shy. This was the highlight of my trip.

“Recently, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of joining the Charro tour led by Jorge Torres, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! Jorge’s deep knowledge about charro history was both enlightening and captivating. The hands-on experience of learning lasso skills felt so genuine and added a special touch to the tour. Riding horseback was another highlight, especially when paired with such a magnificent horse. To top off the perfect day, we were treated to authentic Mexican music that touched our souls, and a taste of tequila that warmed our hearts. I cannot recommend this experience enough for anyone looking to dive deep into the rich traditions and culture of Mexico. Thank you, Jorge, for an unforgettable day!”

I would highly recommend taking this tour. Charrerria is recognized as a cultural heritage experience by UNESCO and thus really shouldn't be missed if you are in the area. The tour guides were knowledgeable and extremely passionate about their sport. Not only do you get a chance to view the charro show, if you go on Sunday, you get to try the lasso and to ride one of the very beautiful horses there. A great way to learn about a unique culture and have a lot a fun.

This was a wonderful experience. Jorge Torres is not only an authentic charro but also an up and coming singer. He clearly poured his soul into ensuring everyone had a good time and got a glimpse of the culture of charros and Mexico. The site is recognized by UNESCO as a heritage worthy of recognition. We are experienced riders in the US (so no need for the little ride) but we found the tour was more than worth the time and money. We will keep rooting for Jorge’s fame and fortune now!

A true cultural experience that you have to do when in Guadalajara. All my friends had fun and preferred it better than the Tequila tour. Jorge Torres is an amazing anfitrion and a genuine charro. The dresses the women wore in the charreada (happens on Sundays at noon) were spectacular. The experience made me proud to be Mexican.

Wonderful experience that is a must do if you visit Guadalajara! Jorge and the charros give you a great experience rich in history and real world experiences of the charro lifestyle. You become a charro/a for the day and end with a beautiful nostalgic serenade with of course some of Jalisco’s finest tequila! If you do not visit Entre Charros, were you really even in Guadalajara. 🤗

An excellent opportunity to enjoy learning and have a hands-on experience with the most important tradition that reflects the spirit of what being mexican has been thru centuries of the evolution of one of the most amazing cultures of the world. The impact of the clash of the original cultures in America with the cultures from already crossbred (hibridized) spain (french, anglos, arabians, jews, african) gave birth to a new race, the race of brave mexicans. We are taken from the Salamanca region in Spain, with its horsemanship and cavalry tradition, to the trips of Hernan Cortés, his disembark with his horses, to the alliances with oponents of the Aztecs, to the meeting with Emperor Moctecuzoma, to the viceroyalty of the New Spain and haciendas periods, where the horse became an essential part of the creation of this culture. It is really amazing to see how all of these, and many more events, come alive in a modern city as Guadalajara. The hands-on part is great: learning to use the rope; groom and saddle a horse and then learn how to mount correctly.

Entre Charros was an amazing experience for young and old alike. Jorge and Manuel did an excellent job giving us history, cultural impact, and importance of charros not only in Mexico but around the world. We traveled with two teenagers and I was very proud of how interested they were and how much they participated in the tour. I recommend it for youths so they spend less screen time and more time socializing in th Real world. Bring a snack as there is no food and some people may get hangry after 2-3 hours. In addition, be prepared to rope and ride and get your hands a little dirty. Enjoy your charro tour!

Highly recommended this tour if you want to learn the history and enjoy the Charro/Charra culture for the day. This was a fun experience for my girlfriend and I. Learning how to use the lasso and lassoing a Bull (wooden). Caring for the horses we where up close and personal building a relationship with the horses for the day.
Our Charro guides spoke great English and made sure all questions were answered if we had one. Charros sang classic charro music while we enjoyed some great tasting tequila. One of a lifetime experience.
