      Fun girls night out.
From the start Tanya was inviting, warm and personable. She invited us into her beautiful home and the kitchen was very well set up to teach. We enjoyed some great drinks while she taught her class and let us participate. The food was delicious! We had a ton of fun, laughs and enjoyed a great dinner. If you’re looking for a unique and fun night out, off the boat or away from the resorts, I’d highly recommend an evening here.

      Culinary Adventure in Puerto Vallarta
This was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta and we want to experience something other than the crowds of Old Town, the Malecon and tourist craft markets. We also wanted to learn a little bit about authentic Mexican cooking. We had gone a food tour a couple of days before (which was amazing!) and were now ready for the next step. Our chef, Manuel, met us at a community market about a 10 minutes taxi ride from our hotel. We visited fresh fish, vegetable and cheese open air stores, and a tortilla factory. After purchasing all the ingredients Manuel needed for our dishes he drove us and the other couple in our class to his house. During the next two hours Manuel showed us how to make ceviche and cheese enchiladas…as well ans all the sauces and accompaniments. I have to say the ceviche was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. I highly recommend this little culinary adventure to anyone visiting PV.

      Great local cooking experience
A great experience. Manuel took us on a local market visit to pick up supplies, then we joined him for a cooking and dining experience in the setting of his own home. It was a very friendly and pleasant experience with great conversation. Add talented cooking skills on display right in front of our eyes, and it made for a memorable time, we would do it again.

      Local flavors and flare
Manuel first asked what type of food we liked and customized our experience to meet our individual tastes. Our visit to the local market showcased his relationships with the business owners there. He was very knowledgeable and showed us many new ways to prepare and enjoy local flavors.

      Amazing private experience
Manuel was waiting for us at the market. He took time to get to know us and our food likes. It was fun to shop with him. Then, his presentation and explanation at his house was outstanding. The food was amazing. It was so flavorful and authentic. We would go again if we come back to PV.

      Wonderful Host, great food
Tanya was the perfect host, charming insightful and a great chef. She has a beautiful home and gorgeous kitchen. She explained the menu, which included a refreshing Paloma over ice, guacamole (she invited me to make it and was open to hands on), chicken enchiladas and a delicious Mexican Lime Icebox Cake. What was of particular value was the fact she made the enchilada sauce from scratch. The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm (beautiful courtyard) and great conversation. While she lives in Ixtapa, part of Puerto Vallarta, the drive was only 20 minutes and the Uber very reasonable. I highly recommend this cooking class.

Not to be Missed Culinary Experience in Puerto Vallarta
Fantastic experience: we highly recommend. The market tour introduced us to a variety of local food products, many of which were new to us "gringoes." Manu was friendly and thoughtful in demonstrating how to prepare a red snapper ceviche, the proper way of handling chilis for maximizing flavor without too much fire, and the three of us finally learned how to cook shrimp without overcooking. The salsa recipe was also a big hit as was visiting a family-operated tortilla factory.

      Easier than I thought.
I learned some techniques I did not know so will be more adventurous with chilies in the future. It was very enjoyable. Learned a new enchilada sauce, verde sauce and how to make a white fish civiche.

Manu is the best! Don’t miss this activity if you are a foody!
This was so fun and we learned so much from Manu. He made things comfortable and showed us tricks of the trade. We also learned about the produce not available in the states. I highly recommend this activity if you are in PV.

This was the best cooking class I’ve ever experienced! Manu is an amazing tour guide and chef with extensive knowledge of Puerto Vallarta’s history and culinary traditions. I throughly enjoyed picking up fresh fish and vegetables from the market and watching him prepare the dishes in his home. I learned so much about the food and cooking techniques that will help me level-up my cooking game. And his restaurant recommendations were spot on. Highly recommend taking a class with Manu!

Fantastic experience! We met Manu at the market where he showed us how to buy fresh fish, then we went to the nearby tortilla factory and watched fresh tortillas being made. He drove us to his house and showed us the trick to “de-spicing” peppers, then made a roasted 3 pepper salsa, fish ceviche, shrimp al pastor, and prickly pear cactus with tajin.
    Delicious and fun!!

We had a blast with Chef Manuel! The market was very interesting and informative. Chef was fun, very easy to talk with, and taught us a lot about cooking. He made two different kinds of ceviche and authentic enchiladas. All fresh and tasty—some of the best food we had on our trip and we ate at some amazing restaurants. So glad we chose to do this activity and we will do it AGAIN when we return to PV.

Extraordinary experience - Manu was the perfect host. He was so attentive from shopping in the local market and choosing our dinner to going back to his house to prep and make the meal. Manu was incredibly sensitive to our food issues and preferences. The food was so good - and the tastes were so much more subtle than what we've been used to in USA Mexican restaurants. Clearly what we've tasted till now falls far short of "real" Mexican food. A must for a total Puerta Vallarta experience. I can't recommended this tour enough.

Chef Manuel was welcoming, friendly and shared his food wisdom freely. He has a wealth of knowledge about the preparation and cooking of Mexican food and drinks. One of the things that impressed us the most was that he took the time to get to know us, our experience cooking and knowledge of Mexican cuisine. We highly recommend Chef Manu and will visit him again.

We had an amazing culinary experience with Chef Manuel in his cozy kitchen as he prepared a delicious meal of red snapper ceviche and cheese enchiladas. He shared his tips for creating these extraordinary dishes while we had a great time getting to know each other. He also sent us his recipes via email so we could try them at home. To make the morning even more enjoyable, we also got to hang out with Manuel's young sidekick, Max Jr. Try this cooking class if you're looking for something a little different, but very special.

This was the most enjoyable and educational cooking class I have ever taken anywhere. Manual exudes passion for his craft and is an excellent host, educator and entertainer. His instruction will forever change my cooking. And the food he served us was the best I have ever eaten in Mexico. He taught us simple techniques that make all the difference.

Manu welcomes us into his home for a lunch-time cooking class. He is quite friendly and spent some time to learn about why we wanted to take the class. He was well prepared and explained the purpose of each ingredient in each of the three dishes that he showed us. The food was fresh and tasted wonderful upon completion. It was quite a lot of food for two!

This was a highlight of our first trip to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I highly recommend the experience and Manu as a host/instructor. He also sent us copies of each recipe and ask us to report back on our success

My husband and I had met Chef Manuel previously as our guide on a Taco Tour. His skill as a chef was fun to watch, and the results of his efforts amazing! The best fresh Ceviche we've ever had and the Panela Cheese Enchiladas along with his homemade pepper oil make it an explosion of flavor. Along with chatting and getting to know Manuel better, it was an enjoyable evening. We would do it again.
