Our guide Carlos and our boat captain were excellent. We had 4 adults and a 2 year old on a private tour. The entire time we felt safe and cared for. The whole experience felt like the equivalent of a semester in the study of Marine Biology. The way that he shared his knowledge and love for the creatures of the sea blew us away. We learned so much about the differences and similarities among whales, and that all dolphins are whales but not all whales are dolphins (most specifically their differences like Mysticeti and Odontoceti, no teeth or with teeth). Such a cool experience being out there on the water. One of the best parts was following a humpback female with its calf and watching her teach it all sorts of things like to breech and hold it's breath from a very close distance. Then following this we met up with a large group of maybe 6-7 males following a female around and fighting for her attention. This was amazing. So many great photos too! We continued for a while with them and also saw a sea turtle, lots of dolphins, iguanas on the shore, and tones of sea birds. The difference that sets this guide apart is his respect for the environment, the wildlife and his intellectual aptitude on the subjects. Carlos is a retired Veterinarian with a passion for his new life style and love of life in general. Make sure you book with them! If I could give 10 stars I would.

Amazing! We saw several mommas and Babies! And their escorts!! We did a private boat with our friends and so worth the money! Carlos and Martin were just awesome! Very knowledgeable, you could tell they were passionate about their jobs and they made it very fun and exciting for us. Thank you!!!!

This was so much fun. Guide Carlos and Captain Javier did an amazing job. Carlos is an expert and made sure we were at a safe distance as to not disturb the new moms and their calf’s. Then we came up on 11 or 12 males competing for a female. So much excitement and information. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to go on a responsible, respectful and informative tour.

First time whale watching and I wasn't sure what to expect. I guess I was hoping to see at least one and we saw over 20! Our guide was fantastic and so knowledgeable. He was truly passionate about the whales, understood their habits/patterns and was able to get our boat situation to watch them play in the beautiful Puerto Vallarta bay. Add this to your bucket list!

Absolutely amazing trip. Went out today with Carlos and Raphael who were fantastic. Carlos’s knowledge is outstanding. If you book this trip you won’t be disappointed. A boat just for 10 which is nice. Found so many whales it was amazing. We even got to see Dolphins on the way home and Carlos stopped so we could take photos even though we were on our way home. Carlos even put a device in the water so we could hear the whales sing, what an experience. The videos I have are stunning.

Carlos and Captain Emilio took us on a perfect tour of the bay today. We were the first boat to find many of the whales thanks to our expert guides. We learned a great deal from Carlos and appreciated his enthusiasm. My friends and I highly recommend Carlos and Captain Emilio!

We did a 3 hour ( I'm pretty sure we spent more than 3 hours) whale watching tour. Our guide, Carlos, and boat captain, Alex were great. Carlos gave us a lot of information about whales and other species of sea mammals. He has a lot of experience which made the experience extra special. We saw several groups of whales -- felt like a version of an African safari as Alex and Carlos spotted whales and we raced to get closer. Eco Explorer is dedicated to respectful viewing of wildlife and a great company to enjoy this experience.

We felt we got way more than our money's worth. We saw lots of whale and dolphin activity which is never guaranteed we know. The educational presentation through out the day was the best. Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic time with Carlos. Only 4 of us on this fast boat. Difficult to see how it could have been any better. We saw several groups of humpbacks - single mother with calf,groups of maybe 6 together, tail slapping, pectoral fin slapping, fighting and even one complete breech (why was my camera not switched on ??). Carlos is very experienced with dolphins,whales and diving, really knows his stuff, and clearly loves what he does. A fabulous trip and a great boat to go on if you want to get fantastic views. Good price too!

Great experience! The tour was very easy to book... Wendy speaks English very well, she was very professional and friendly. Carlos our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. He gave us lots of detailed information concerning the whales and their habits. Carlos and the driver of the boat were able to find a young humpback whale within the first half hour. This whale was playing with a dolphin! Then we headed out much further in the bay and found a female with 4 males competing for her attention. We watched the males intimidate each other and fight to win the female. about a half hour later the victor left with her and the others sulked away. We had a wonderful time and would definitely use them again.

This was the Greats experience of my life, my instructor Alex was fantastic. He helped me through each step. we dove in two different spots. We seen all types of aquatic life and ever heard whales singing.. Cant say enough about the company, they were fantastic, extremely nice and helpful. thank you Sincerely Kevin Gentry...

Spectacular tour! Whales under the boat, whales singing, dolphins playing, blue footed boobies diving. Our tour guide was Fernando and he was a fountain of knowledge. Our boat captain Rafael has the sharpest eyes of all. He saw the singer, the dolphins and a group of four whales. We will do this again the next time we visit Puerto Vallarta

Great staff, really fun day, our guide (a veterinarian) had a lot of knowledge and experience, when it came to the animals in the bay, so we learned a lot. They also really respected the animals space &talked about conservation of the ecosystem. We saw 3 separate groups of humpbacks and 2 species of dolphins. I'd highly recommend them, because of their expertise, fun personality, and excellent tracking skills.

Our trip to Marietas Island with Luis and his crew was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! We really had no idea how exciting and unique this experience would be for us. In all of our travels we have never experienced the thrill of cave snorkeling ! We saw whales and dolphins on our trip to the island. Luis served a delicious sandwich and provided great pictures of the entire experience! Luis, thank you for your professional guidance and for capturing the thrill of this memory!
