About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- renevB9447JW0 contributionsSan Sabastian: Thank You Miguel (Tour Guide) & Daniel (Driver)Last Wednesday my wife and I had the privilege of having taken a tour to San Sebastian del Oestre. I say privilege because, our tour guide, Miguel, not only provided detailed information throughout the excursion, but gave us a history of Mexico. In addition to a trip to the silver mining town, we also stopped a local jewelry store where I was able to purchase a Mexican opal for the wife. We had a wonderful lunch in town that was part of the tour. We also had the opportunity to stop at a family-owned taquilla distiller. Although we got to taste the varieties of taquilla, we unfortunately were unable to purchase any because we only had carry-ons and not check-in bags. I also want to acknowledge our very fine driver, Daniel, who was an exceptional and safe driver. We strongly recommend you take this tour. I know the next time I return to Puerto Vallarta, I will schedule another tour with Riviera Tours.Written November 21, 2024
- Inspire440889231560 contributionsSan Sebastian TourWarmest people, beautiful location, and tequila. Ask for Signor Miguel Delgadillo, the tour guide. He will keep you safe, well hydrated, well fed, and entertained. Highly recommended.Written October 19, 2024
- FrequentTraveller0340 contributionsHistorical OK TourThe best part of the tour was the guide, David. He was very knowledgeable and personable. Kind of a grandfatherly type. The van was not comfortable because of very limited legroom. The air conditioning was adequate, however. There was not a lot to see in San Sebastian, although David really tried to give as much detail as possible on its history. The lunch was just OK, simple Mexican fare and nothing special. Plan appropriately because the lunch is not scheduled before 2 PM. The stops were average, the best being the delightful tequila distillery. There was not much to see at the coffee place, but bags of their coffee were reasonably priced. The jewelry shop was very expensive and the chocolate shop was a bust- not much selection and we were unable to see the chocolate making process I guess because of the late afternoon.Written October 3, 2024

- Y1028OTnicolee0 contributionsRide is bumpy and longOmar and Alfonso were wonderdul. Very informative! We were given a very detailed history on our drive. The drive is far longer than the tour and it’s a very bumpy road with lots of curves. I did t care for the ride as it was to long . The mountain town was like an old western town. Thr tequila tour was informative. The silver and coffee tour were more to get you to buy stuff than a tour. I was looking forward to the coffee tour as I’ve been to them in other countries but they did not give a tour really. Alfonso just told us about it. The church was beautiful and a good piece to see. The lunch was good . It was a long ways for really not much . I wouldn’t go on this again or really recommend it. Since the drive is long , I would suggest to offer a bottle of water on the ride. When selling this tour I would tell the buyer that the ride is longer than the tour and that it’s a very bumpy twisty road. The guide and driver did a good job and me not liking the tour has nothing to do with them.Written May 31, 2024
- osdalyt0 contributionsHighly recommended 💙It's was a nice experience!! Nice views 🌺 hiking in group , our guides very attentive of needs . Ride a panga was a pleasant experience, food was amazing ! We order a octopus and fish plate was exquisite. We highly suggest use sunscreen 🧴 lolWritten May 19, 2024
- Edward G0 contributionsJuan Carlos and Omar are the best guidesThese guys made the whole trip fun. Juan Carlos knew a lot about the history of the area, the people from the area and made it all interactive by asking us questions about what we knew or thought we knew about the area. Omar was an excellent driver. Their banter back and forth was hilarious. I 100% recommend this tour and if you get lucky, you’ll end up with these guys.Written May 7, 2024
- Maxime P0 contributionsTotally worth itExcellent cultural tour of a pristine Mexican village nested in the mountains. This tour will bring you to picturesque historical sites, a coffee plantation, a tequila distillery, a church and several shops selling locally-made items (not your typical gift shops for tourists). Lunch at a local eatery is included, and ours was absolutely excellent (food-wise and service-wise). Our guide, Adam, was very knoledgable and personable, with a good sense of humor. Jorge, the driver, was also nice and professional. The only downside is that you pretty much don't get any time to roam freely in the village. Lastly, a few words of advice: - Those who have severe mobility issues should not book this tour, as most of the tour consists in walking on cobblestone streets and very narrow sidewalks. If you need a walker or a wheelchair to move around, it's simply not doable at all. - The bus is quite tight. I'm 6-foot tall with a normal weight and I felt cramped. If you are very large (vertically and/or horizontally), you won't have a good time in that kind of bus. And it's 4 hours back and forth. - The bus ride is very shaky, so if you have motion sickness, you should plan for this. Sitting in the front will probably help.Written April 29, 2024
- H9446WUgabriellec0 contributionsLovely placeBeautiful place! We learned a lot about the culture and history of Mexico and San Sebastian. We saw the real Mexico and it was amazing. The tour guide, Miguel, was excellent and the driver Bernardo was really kind. We recommand for everyone who wants to see a little bit of history during their vacation in Puerto Vallarta.Written April 26, 2024
- 631connie0 contributionsGuide and driver were terrific! Our guide, Miguel, and driver, Jorge, made this day really special! Miguel’s knowledge of history in the area coupled with a genuine love for his country made the tour a great learning experience in addition to the beautiful scenery. The tequila tasting was delicious and informative and the family who live and work there were terrific! The authentic Mexican lunch was also delicious! We felt very safe the whole time and well cared for. The van was nicely air conditioned with comfortable seats, but the rows were too close for my husband’s 6’+ frame.Written April 18, 2024
- bmd_flyguy0 contributionsWonderful tour! What a great excursion! We had a wonderful day together with Poncho and the second best driver in Mexico, Ivan. Poncho was very good at providing context and history of the San Sebastián del Oeste area. The scenery is beautiful. The stops at the Tequila distillery was very informative, and the samples were Muy Rico! The coffee plantation was also interesting to learn about the history of the family and their business. Next stop was lunch with the most tasty Mole sauce! Finally, a tour of the village of San Sebastián del Oeste with the beautiful church, old cobblestone roads, and rich mining history dating back to the time of the Spanish colonizers in 1605. It's worth a visit! If you're motion sick, make sure to take your medication before as the roads are very steep and windy.Written April 1, 2024

- Leonel R0 contributionsA tour of Mexican culture.Awesome tour of a cute little town in Mexico. The tour begins with a tequila tasting, followed by a stop at a coffee plantation until you reach the town of saint sebastian. All along the way our tour guide, Alfonso (Poncho), recounted a terrific story of Mexican history from pre-colonial time, to the administration of Porforio Diaz and the modern day festival of day of the dead. The drive is a little long between stops and he did a fantastic job of keeping everyone engaged. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a cultural event.Written March 13, 2024

Forget that you will visit Puerto Vallarta. We only saw a piece of the promenade and the church. The rest of the trip was only related to shopping in friendly stores. First, a gift shop and a comment do not buy silver. Why? Because the next stop is ... a jewelry store (prices tourist earrings with opal size about 1.5cm -7500 pesos. Then a leather goods store (strap prices only $ 25) Then drive to the distillery and show you one agawa and distillation barrels. Then you will try Tequila and what .... shopping ( 0.5l bottle of liqueur-29dollars) Then dinner in a friend's Mexican restaurant (no Mexican food), then you can buy Mexican ceramics or a cover. End of trip. Return to hotel

Three families, strangers at the start of the day, bonded over our shared disappointment from Riviera TT “City Tour” (aka sponsored shopping trip with mandatory stops at a jewelry, leather, and tequila store). We only had 15 minutes in actual Puerto Vallarta Malecon and shopping area… You had to be quick with your camera if you wanted a peek of the beach on the hwy drive to the Tequila place & restaurant, no slowing down or stops along the way! Turning lemons into lemonade, we ended the day with our own adventure, sharing street tacos in an alleyway. The restaurant they chose for us was more $$ we didn’t want to spend. I felt bad for the family with 3 young kids in tow - they were told that lunch was included, which it wasn’t. We made the best out of this #TourFail

The tour was well worth the 20$/price. Our guide Miguel was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the city he grew up in. As a man in his 60’s he has seen the transition from a fishing town to a large city dominated by tourism. He shows you the different “faces” of the city, as well as the surrounding countryside along the coastal highway. The lunch, which we paid for separately at Gringo Jerry’s OK Corral, was delicious and enough food for two meals. Don’t be fooled by the name. Luis was a very good driver and also very friendly.

A must! Our guide Adam was fantastic. Being a native of PVR, we received the greatest tour. David was the "frontman" that ensured we all ready for the day. Along with our group, we added some amazing friends from Canada and California. We saw the city, the ocean, and the countryside, all the while learning the history of PVR "proper" The tour included a FANTASTIC lunch that we highly recommend you add to your package. The lobster, the mahi-mahi, the shrimp, both kinds was life changing! The staff was excellent and price was just right. I highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky to have Adam as your guide, you are definitely in for a treat.

Our tour guide, Miguel, was THE BEST! He was born in Puerto Vallarta in the 1960s and gave us a great perspective of how much this area has changed and how much has stayed the same since he was a kid. He also knew the history of this area and was a great storyteller. The trip was just the right pace for my family of 5 sisters (in our 60s and 70s) and a 40-year-old niece. Also, our driver, Irving, was excellent. He drove safely and we never felt in danger. The City Tour was a mix of history, stopping at our Lady oglf Guadalupe Church in the Romantica Zone, shopping for authentic Mexican handmade jewelry and souveniers, and eating at a restaurant on a hillside 30 minutes from downtown near a river where we met the chef, Doña Rosa, and ate delicious fresh seafood. After lunch we went tequila tasting at a local distillery where the guide was fun but professional and interesting. This was a great tour had it been twice the price. I highly recommend Miguel and Irving and any of their local tours!

This tour is very mediocre. you can actually give yourself a better tour of the board walk by exploring it at your own pace and take pictures at your own pace. Trying to get pictures of the big "Puerto Vallarta" attraction is next to impossible in a large group The bathroom break at the local government building is just uugh!!; Very dirty bathrooms. Then the walk to the Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church is one you can do on your own. They skip all the restaurants on the boardwalk to drive you miles away into a secluded corner for lunch where they claim you get the freshest sea food and chicken in town but be prepared to break the bank here. It is too expensive for what you get. BTW internet is spotty so if you plan to pay by card, be ready for some awkward situations. Card payments won't work if internet is down (which you get told about in the long bus trip there). Then over to the Tequilla distillery right across and boy oh boy! they see tourists and $$$$. You get a BS presentation and some sampling and then all they want to do is SELL!!!.
Its definately not worth the $30 per person. If you have to go, skip the lunch and carry snacks to keep you going till you get back to your hotel. You'd be best served spending the lunch $$$ at the hotel for dinner.
I'll give two dots as a courtesy to the guide.

Highly recommend this city tour. After a convenient hotel pickup, we learned about the city from a professional guide while visiting sites like the Malecón, the Municipal Palace, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, the artisans' market, and a tasting at a tequila distillary. We saw the Vallarta letters and other sculptures on the boardwalk. We also went to a jewelry store which sold beautiful silver and opal pieces. We had lunch at a hillside restaurant away from the city, near a beautiful river. We met the chef, Doña Rosa, and had a delicious fresh fish dinner and margharita. Our driver was Omar and our tour guide was Miguel. They were great. Miguel had an extensive knowledge of the history of the area and answered all the questions we had. He was very friendly and was able to provide personal stories of growing up in the area. The van was air conditioned and very comfortable.

Such a fun adventure! A beautiful experience learning about the Mexican history, while driving through gorgeous terrain...harbors, downtown PV, coastal sites, and the rainforest! Authentic fresh sea foods at the most quaint Mexican restaurant and then tequila tasting at a family owned distillery! PANCHO was the best tour guide! I highly recommended this experience!!

Our private tour was an excellent experience. Miguel was a wealth of knowledge in history and facts. He related well to everyone in our group (ages 12-78) and shared a lot of interesting information as well as personal experiences. Our driver, Luis, was excellent! Careful, courteous, and got us to each place in a comfortable and timely manner. Our group highly recommends Miguel and Luis!

The tour overall was good! Adam/Adan was great, he was very engaging and fun. The Malecon walk was short but okay. The scenic ride to lunch and tequila tasting was great, good food too. Pro tip: if you're a foodie, skip the lunch option and order food directly from the restaurant, much more yummy options, but if you're a quickie, the lunch option included is okay as well. Thumps up! Keep it up.
